Hi guys,
I am looking to buy a pda for work, but need help on which one. Have been looking at an iPAQ. Will be working mostly with Excel documents. Also, need to be able to work with Word and PDF's. Can anyone give some advice.
Thanks,
Chris
all windows mobile pda's meet those requirements
Great. Anyone have any experience with this one - http://www.pressdigital.com.au/phones-classic-pdas-accessories/ipaq-enterprise-handheld-p-5551.html
Thanks
Well, I took the plunge and ordered this one. I will post back to let you know how it goes.
Hi Amiller,
A friend of mine uses the PDA you mentioned. I asked him, and he said he loves it and would recommend it to anyone. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
Chris
I appreciate the tip. I got it today, and love it. Really easy to use. Love how easy it is to check my personal and office emails, open and edit all my docs and excel files. I would like to get a bigger keyboard though for traveling. Any suggestions?
I would recommend the HD and second the G1
Good luck in your desicion
Thanks. I just came across this one. Anyone have any experience with it?

Looks good. Bluetooth, full-size, fabric...
That link is for the keyboard mate, not any device there...

I bought the iPAQ, and I am looking for a good keyboard for traveling.
I bought that keyboard myself a few months ago, and love it. It is as easy to use as a regular keyboard, but very convenient to travel. I love that it is bluetooth and I don't have to worry about plugging it in. I couldn't go back to using my old mini keyboard. You won't be disappointed.
If you have any questions about it, please let me know.

Thanks for the advice cajohnson. I just ordered it and will let you know how it goes.
Received it today. Had it out of the box and typing away in 15 minutes. Works great. I can pack it in the case with my pda and go. Types like a full size keyboard. Makes my pda much more functional. Appreciate all your help.
Hello there, I'm planning to replace my HTC Universal after great 3 years of working! and I'm still pleased with it to be honest!
My new PPC should has a keyboard, so my question is simple! is the HTC Raphael the good choice to go with?
I know there is the SE X1 as another choice, but I think I liked the HTC more
What do you think?
so guyz...no replys at all?
I really like my Raphael and as far as i worked with it, i had no problems and would recommend it.
There are (of course) some bugs, but they can be fixed with progs out of this forum. So if u are not afraid of spending some time in setting up ur raphael this could be ur new favourite.
The keyboard is pretty good (for my opinion), the buttons are small, but i don't have a problem hitting the right one, even though i got thicker fingers.
If u have some specific questions just ask, i'll see if i can answer.
hi there
having used the universal and then using a hermes as a day-to-day device and now the raphael i can only say that im glad i bought one!
the size of the device is simply astonishing for what has been crammed into it
what do you primarily use your device for?
the universal is a well seasoned device with much support and it appears the raphael is heading that way too!
Thanx guyz,
No problem at all with spending time fixing bugz cause really I like these stuff and I enjoy searching and fixing...that's what kept me from replacing my Universal
good to hear that about the keyboard, cause I really need it and I think by time I should be used to it...
yup, the size is a great thing compared to the huge universal for sure I'm now a medical resident...so I will use it to have some books around me all the time beside its internet & phone cababilities...
there is nothin specific now in my mind to ask, but I got a positive impression in general and I think I'm gonna buy it soon
I'll get back to you!
Hi fellow members of XDA!
This is a question I putting to the community (hope to receive more answers than my previous question.
I've been browsing around the web for the last few day in search of way to make my own tablet pc. I think I found some interesting things to get me going and I do have an old laptop that I think I could easily use for my adventure. And so, now that the Hardware part is (in theory) solved I've reach another problem. The OS part. I know android is open source, that most likely I would easily put linux running on the machine, but somehow I want to make it windows mobile capable. Call it a whim if you want.
After reading some stuff around this forum about rom cooking (and I'm no programmer) I have more questions than answers.
So my big question is: If a XDA Rom Cook had access to the device specs, could it build a windows mobile rom for that same device? What specs would he/her need?
Another idea of mine is: I have an old blue angel and a prophet stopped at home. Could I salvage parts from them to the tablet pc?
And here is another question: Where can I get the touch screens, casings and other tablet pc components? Does anyone here knows?
Thanks for reading. I'll start on this project soon and let you know how it goes.
Cheers
Hi guys and gals I'm new to the forum.
I've recently decided I wanted to get into app development, I am still yet to learn Objective C and Java but I want to be making apps for both iOS as well as Android.
I am thinking of getting an iMac 27-inch: 3.4GHz is it completely worth it or are there other alternatives out there with a cheaper or similar price tag? Please I would like informative responses so do not post unless its helpful as it will save my time and yours
I'm assuming this might not be a straight forward answer but the reason I want to get an iMac is due to the wider screen size and clearer display and for using XCODE (eventually) but I want to develop for Android also.
Would you also recommend any programmes or software to use for someone starting out with programming and development? Ideally for starting out and then the more complicated programmes for experienced people.
Thank you.
Bump, could someone please answer me.

If you want to find a cheap laptop, do your own footwork, we don't spoonfeed people just to suit their own convenience.
Just remember, when it comes to trying to find cheap hardware, you get exactly what you pay for. If you go for the cheapest deal you can find, you will not be pleased with what you get.
