Maybe you can try to search for calendar cache for birthdays - just as pics for contacts, they're stored in contacts storage not in contacts app cache.

You can also verify that it's gone by going to your Google Calendar from a PC, then manually sync your phone under settings/ accounts & sync after you clear calendar data and cache.

I can't remove my facebook friend contacts...help..Its keep on doing that. I have "sync with existing contacts" only and its syncing all the facebook accounts to my contacts..

does anyone have this problem??
You would probably get an answer/help with your issue if you posted your question in the miui thread.

that facebook app does that with any ROM anytime you sync...
log out of facebook and reboot then go to menu-->settings---->personal----> accounts & Sync settings---> turn off auto sync ....under that you should see your facebook and google accounts with sync off.....anytime you you need to sync just go back there and click your account to do it manually

Conatcts not saving to Google Contacts

Hi guys,
I assumed that with all Android devices nowadays, any contact I add will be by default saved to Google Contacts.
just browsed my Google Contacts online and found that almost all of my recent phonebook additions are missing from Goog Contacts.
Isn't there a way to have them saved and synced forever??
Thanks,
TD

Having the same problem
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
Go under system setting then account and touch google account and turn sync on. If your under T-Mobile they have their own account sync
After confirming you have Google account and synced, check in PEOPLE app that the contacts are actually saved as "Google" accounts.
If not, you can always go to people->menu->manage contacts->copy contacts->from phone->to Google.
Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies.
I think the issue was that by default, the contacts were saving as "Outlook" contacts, hence why they weren't appearing in my G Contacts.
Not sure why the default is set to Outlook - is there a way to change this?
Also, it appears there is no way to migrate contacts added and synced to Outlook to G Contacts.. Anyone know?
Cheers,
TD

No need for Outlook extract:
Get into people on your phone, choose in the menu: manage contacts, copy contacts, choose the source account (Outlook in your situation) and then the destination (Gmail) and Done.

[Q] gmail sync doesn't delete

since ICS update, my gmail doesn't sync what is deleted.
If I delete from Mac Mail it is deleted form the web, but not the phone.
If I delete from the web it isn'r deleted from the phone either, but it is from Mac Mail.

no change
here's the fix.
Menu/Manage Apps/Calendar Pad & Calendar Storage & gMail/Clear data for all 3.
Accts & Sync/Google/uncheck all/recheck and sync now
That fixes Calendar from there out.
gMail is still weird.
If I delete from the phone, it deletes from MacMail and Goog webmail immediately.
If I delete from google webmail, it deletes from MacMail and phone immediately.
But if I delete from MacMail, it stays in both webmail and the phone.
I guess the MacMail integration isn't quite.......

[Q] Facebook Sync not working (Stock Based ROM) !

Whenever I sync my "Facebook for HTC Sense" account, only the feed gets synced, the contacts and calender never do.
I think the calender will get synced once the contacts do, as for the contacts, it says "Sync is experiencing some problems, it will be back shortly." and its been like a week or two !
Is there any way to fix this ?
I thought there was some problem with my ROM, so I installed NExtGen 1.6, the contacts still did not sync.
I have tried formatting my phone, clearing the Facebook for HTC Sense data, removing and adding the account again and again.
But nothing works !
Please tell me a way to sync them using Facebook for HTC Sense as other third party apps do not provide full integration.
Thanks in Advance. :good:

Check in the settings in accounts and sync option whether all the the options are selected under facebook account..
If that not working..
Install fb from play store.. After installing put your details after that you will see authorize htc sense it will b done automatically sometime it may give error try again.. It will authorize..
After installation and procedure.. go in the fb go to settings.. You will find sync option..
But remember in accounts and sync under facebook all options should be selected..

[Q] No Google Contacts option?

I am trying to set up Google Contacts. I imported contacts from Outlook fine. Then I synced them to my phone (Samsung Light) -- all fine.
BUT, when I went to my Note 10.1 to sync them I found that in my Google Account there is no option for Google Contacts, only something called People. It does sync GMail fine. Sync is on.
I've tried many things -- deleting the Google account and re-establishing it, clearing the contacts cache, etc. But with no optionon the Google account page for contacts, I can't even try to sync them.
Anybody ever come across this before?
Thanks.

you should have a separate app called Contacs. And in settings under account you can sync. Just use the contac app
Shaun:
Yes, I have been using the native Contacts app and syncing it with Outlook via Kies. I want to try using Google Contacts instead. I deleted all the contacts within the app and cleared all contact data/cache.
The problem is that when I go to Settings>Accounts>Google and then click on my account, there is NO option to Sync Contacts. There are options for App Data, Calendar, Gmail, Internet, People details, and Picasa Web albums -- and that's it.
Thanks

When you click on your account is it your gmail account..
Yep -- but finally fixed it. I just finished doing a hard reset of the Note, which I hated to do because it will take me hours to get it back the way I want. However, as soon as I did that the Google account started showing all the options, including Contacts.
Thanks.
