How do i know my private messages were sent?! - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
I've sent few PM but in "sent box" there's nothing! I don't see them anywhere. So how can i know they were indeed sent?
Thanks.

Send me one, and I'll tell you.

Done! Just check now.

He received my message and i got his answer, still, my sent message is not in "sent box"... This means you can't know if someone got your message unless he answer it... Bad! Please fix this.

Sent Messages
I am running into the same thing. I sent out two private messages but my SENT folder is zero....

Sorry for bumping in this, seems the problem's still here.
I tried to send a reply to a pm, but it wouldn't be found in the "sent" folder.
Seeing from this thread that the replies are being sent, I'm sure the guy will report me for spamming or something. :silly:
Is it because the '10 posts rule' or a problem in general?

see the date..
if that show above message, that is sent (my opinion)

What do u mean..??

Edit your profile and check "store sent messages" (or something like this)
By default sent private messages are not stored
I mean in Control panel/Settings and Options/Edit Options
Check "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent items folder by default"

I think that is absolutely USELESS and can't believe MS has been doing that for all these years. We all know who sent the mail, we need to see where is it going. Is there a registry key or something?
Considering TXT messages show received u would think it would be a registry..
Thanks,
Sid
I'm sorry but i'm missing your point.
When you send an email you can see who you sent it to
When you receive an email you can see who sent it to you...
where's the problem?
when i send a message from microsoft mobile messaging and i choose receive as the sort, only my name is present. when i choose from, my name is again the only one present.
i confirmed this on both my Vogue, Raphael and 700wx. The only way i can see who i sent the message to is by opening the actual message.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48598 i started a thread here and got confirmation i'm not the only one.
lol this is strange.
I never stumbled into this kind of problem. I see exactly what needs to be seen on my polaris.
I understand you ran through the whole menu to check for options concerning this thing right?

Yes i checked the settings. What's weird is that all of my devices to do this, but yours doesn't.. makes me wonder if it is because of US windows mobile vs EU windows mobile....
thanks,
sid
when i look at my sent items for my exchange email i notice that regardless if i choose received or from it shows only me. Received = when message was sent. From = who sent the message. Both displays me as the sender instead of displaying who i sent it too.
i think the problem might be with messaging sync to an exchange server since this doesn't happen with txt messaging. can someone else confirm this that is using a non US based ROM?
Thanks,
Sid
Solution
Hi all
This is probably well and truly solved by now looking at the date but in case anyone googles this the fix is:
Open your sent items folder.
Now look at the tool bar and you will see a small text box with messages in it.
There is a drop down arrow that will display a menu when its click on.
select "sent to" to resolve the issue.

Thank God someone else has this problem. I think those that say they don't have this problem don't actually understand what you're saying.
This has been bugging me for years, and is one of those things that proves MS doesn't really give a crap about WM.
How to Fix This
Open your Sent Box
Right-click on the bar that shows "Arranged by:"
In the menu that opens, click "Custom..."
Under "Description," Click the "Fields..." button
Under "Available Fields," scroll down until you see "To"
Select "To" and click the "Add" button
"To" should appear under "Show these fields in this order:"
Select "To" and press "Move Up" or "Move Down" until it appears in the order in which you want to see it.

there's a whole thread about this.. http://www.google.com/support/forum...ec&hl=en&fid=25293086b64af5ec0004902ae6cb07e5
anyway it looks like it's not rom/radio/app related , it has something to do with your gmail account

Same here man, the last 2 I`ve sent ar`nt there...
Same here, no messages at "Sent items" at all. Forum admins, please fix this one!
P.S. Hola, admins?!! We found a huge bug on XDA, how should I inform the responsible person?
Guys, this is not a bug in the system it is a User set option.
Go to User CP on the bar near the top of forum pages, choose Edit Options and then scroll down to the option to save sent messages in your sent messages folder.
ie User CP>Edit Options
NB for all those posting above, I have set the option to save messages. You don not need to follow the above instruction, though you might find other interesting options on that page

[Completed] Dont see sent messages in XDA site/app

Hello
I've been using the site and the app for a long time. I have got 32 messages in my inbox and for all of them I replied. But I cannot access the replies I sent in my sent folder. After that I found out that when I go advanced on my private message I can check a box saying "save a copy in inbox". And whenever I write a new message I can see that it is disabled by default, so that my replies are not saved in site. That means each time I'm sending a private message I have to go advanced, check the "save copy in inbox" and write down my message. Is there anyway to make it save my sent private messages by default? I know that I can access most of them by downloading the inbox as xml or csv, but I would like to have a copy each time I reply a message without going advanced and checking box everytime
Cheers

Hi,
I think your messages are well sent but to make sure you would need to check a few settings in here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/profile.php?do=editoptions
First off you need to make sure private messaging option is enabled (see my 1st attached screenshot).
Then, once this done, you have 2 ways of saving sent PMs:
- 1st method is to tick a checkbox each time before sending private message (see my 2nd attached screenshot)
- 2nd method (recommended one) is to enable the auto-save sent private messages in the sent items option (see my 3rd attached screenshot).
Hope it helps.
Big thanks. But why this Option was put off? I never tweak at this point. **** happens know it will work. Thanks
