[I9003] Gingerbread 2.3.6 Camera quality Improved [Hacked] COMING SOON...... - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi guys,
I had made an camera.apk modded Beta version based on DDKP2..And i dont hav i9003 device presently..,so i need a skilled testers to find out any bugs that could arise..
This camera.apk modded version is totally checked, compiled by me and i found that i9003 could capable of recording HD videos at higher quality than stock camera.apk..Before it is opened for all i need testers ...
Here is the info what the modded version can do I9003:
1.Increased 720p HD videos Running @13mbps/30fps ( STOCK ) to 720p @20mbps/30fps (MOD)
2.Increased Audio bitrate to 192kbps/44.1Khz (MOD) quality Instead of 64kbps/16khz (STOCK)
3.Allowing camera.apk to use at any battery life
A lil problem..will upload soon once it is finally tested by me....

he has successfully allowed power button as camera button for both still snaps and video recording ! he also allowed using camera while on a call and <15% battery

Hi,
i have a question:
increasing audio quality doesn't make that distortions in loud environment disappear, right?
This is most important for me...

I have observed that whenever we record videos in low light then vdo quality is not upyo the mark. It looks little bit blackish vdo. But in mid range or higher range nokia phone's vdo quality is much...much better. Can't we do anything about this???

Can i9003 record video at 1080p(full hd)?

yes i agree with vishal here ! and i have observed one thing ! i found my very old froyo 640x480 res video recorded in a club ! and the amazing part is that the video doesnt hav the locked fps recording rate which the new firmwares have ! so because its not locked at 30 fps it allows more light to be recorded and u can visibly c much more !! its jst odd that gingerbread did this ! even on kpe it used to work fine ! but now if i flash kpe it still doesnt work that way ! how on earth is this possible ?

Not sure may be HW problem may arise..If possible i will try that

@sharp87- heres sum info on WHY its too dark compared to other cams ! the i9003 video cam after KPE has framed a LIMIT to minimum 30 fps for video recording video ! earlier it used to b dynamic from 15 fps-30 fps ! i will upload a link of a video i had taken earlier in lower resolution and u can EASILY make out the difference of the frame rate during playback ! uploading now ! will edit this post with that recording
edit- old froyo video - 640-480 http://www.mediafire.com/?sxcjy8chro486rc
edit2- JUST recorded sample 640-480 http://www.mediafire.com/?f5fs2p2zr5efq6n
edit3- image of the recorded scene WITHOUT night mode (auto mode) http://www.mediafire.com/?d6xj48dhrorzjr0
hopefully this will prove my point on what i'm trying to say !

as shriomman points out the issue in GB is due to fix frame rate whereas froyo had variable frame rate which would change to less FPS/sec in low light, this would cause blur but will still get you clear image whee as GB gives priority to FPS thus performs very poor in low light.
GB is nothing but a higher version of crap coding from samsung developers.

[Q] Speed of turning the camera on

It is too slow to turn on the camera. I always wait for 5-7 seconds to turn it on. I think it is too slow, don't you agree? Are your device that slow? Is there any solution?

LG screw the kernel up and 512mb ? i my ex motorola atrix is lighing fast without the need to install custom rom as compare to my current O3D. well becoz i was fascinated by the 3D thats why i switch over from a high end tegra 2 to omap
---------- Post added at 07:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:08 PM ----------
well i notice the ram holds just nice amount of running apps for usage anytime u need them and when suddenly you need to open the camera, android will need to kill some of the running apps that will take awhile before it can launch the camera app to fit into the ram. my guessing is either the kernel or 512mb ram? or maybe lg need to optimize they camera app to use lesser ram. well for the damn sake of video recording i got to stick to the sluggish camera app. otherwise there are load of choices on market that are much faster.

Yes,but it's good for some fast picture capture coz it start's in 2 sec when it comes to video stock camera is still better coz it can record in 1080p
I often use various camera application. For immediate use, I'll use FastBurstcamera, for normal & 3D I'll use stock LG camera, for fun I'll use 360camera, for High Quality Picture I'll use HDR camera.
the prada camera opens the quickest and on a good sun-lit day @ iso 100 takes the best quality pics

ICS Video Playback not as good as GB?

Hi, I've noticed with ICS Roms the video playback is very jerky and low quality compared to GB which could play the same video files smoothly. I am talking about a 720p movie but I get the same thing with the recorded videos from the phone's camera.
Any ideas as to why this is and how it can be improved?
I'm currently running Insert Coin 5.1.1, Sensation XE, latest firmware 3.32.
PS I've also noticed the fruit ninja seems kind of pixelated on ICS so i'm guessing it's a general graphics issue with the whole OS.
even i am on the same rom........and i noticed that while playing video the screen gets dim itself even when on full brightness and auto brightness off
Is the force gpu turned on in dev settings? I personally think its equal if not better.. (also talking 720p mkv's)
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
I just tried forcing GPU, didn't help much if at all.
I remember watching the same movie when I first got my phone and looking at the quality in awe, now that I'm on ICS I'm disappointed.
Hopefully someone will know how to fix.

Been using VI ICS for a while now and watched a few mins of Cowboys and Aliens and Transformers3 without issues.
For me, I think playback is a bit smoother than GB. Could be a placebo though lol.
I was just browsing around and saw that theres an app called System Tuner that tells you if the second core is running...found out that the second core on my phone was disabled!
I enabled it and success! my video played so smoothly it was beautiful once again
So it's probably a kernel issue rather than ICS issue. (can't remember whether i chose OC Kernel or Stock)

Camera Quality ???

in the beginning everything was fine, but from last couple of weeks .. i am noticing a major drop in the quality of the pictures. As i was using Cyanogenmod, i thought it is due to that, but then using the Stock based Custom Rom, or even even the Stock rom is giving the same result. Camera patch available in this forum, also didn't work fine for me.!
Is that, my Camera hardware is, affected.... or are there any other reasons!

i think yours is too much overclocking bro.. if we used cm7 and oc 600mhz up the cam will be flickering.. so i think it's caused of oc.
but as my experience if i reflash to stockrom it will be normal.. may be your cam hardware has small damage bro because of oc.

But ..my phone Doesn't support OC above 729Mhz!!
What should i do, go and get my hardware replaced by the Samsung or wait for the Camera working in ICS, as i have read somewhere that, sometimes phone's camera acts weird due to low shutter speed, and as we know shutter speed in ICS is increased by Google.
Suggest me !

i suggest you to flash yours to stock, and check it to samsung service center bro.. just flash the old stock bro, do not the latest one, so you can use that to be your reason why your cam got flicker..

Wanted camera app for Aosp extended With android 7.1.2

Wanted a camera app (ported), with good hdr and noise reduction like miui camera, and the manual mode with full shutter speed control to 2 sec and iso range 100 to 3200.
If anyone got a time to spare please suggest one, tested those apps on play store they are not good enough

Not dead
But nobody cares with camera port
You are wanred things that imposible
That's why., Nobody cares with this thread
Also take a look at the other thread, we already discuss it
We can't port it obviously ..
The quality is depends on camera hal
You should use snap camera app. It's good camera app
Bacon camera supports manual mode in mi4i
Update your AospExtended to v4.4.
Camera app is excellent in here amongst all non miui roms.
I like Google's stock camera which I got while flashing the AROMA Gapps. I prefer it over MIUI.
Follow this thread to enhance features and performance of AOSP Ext ROM in MI 4i. It includes camera solution also.

This's XDA now....lol!!
I tried modify to 32s, but no effects. Set to 8s and capture will show camera error, and other time, more than 1/2s, no effects. I also found 1/4s is the most brightness, even more than 1/2s.
Actually maximum right now is 1/4 , the 1/2 shown in most apps is more like 1/6 since it is darker than 1/4. Did you try to increase by lib editing?
