[Resolved] Galaxy Tab 2 Screen of death issue! Please help me!

I posted this in another thread and no one was able to help me. So I am posting it in it's own thread hoping that someone can. I know a lot of people having this same issue.
Guys, I have a brand new Galaxy Tab 2 that I bought yesterday and after following the first rooting guide, the one that uses Heimdall to flash a .pit file and a "boot-bjr.img" file, I'm having a really serious issue.
So I went through the process (not the first time I rooted an Android device) using the original heimdall method and it was easy and simple. After the root I made sure by downloading root checker basic from the Play store. I was indeed rooted. But then something weird started happening. The screen goes into standby by itself after a few seconds like normal, but I can't get it to wake up from standby. I have to shut off the device by holding the power button and then turning it back on again. When I do that it works normally again until the screen shuts off either by me pressing the power button to do it manually, or until the screen dims out into standby. I've tried wiping the cache, I've tried a factory reset, and I've even ran the process again all over using heimdall. I'm guessing it's probably the kernel that gets flashed using heimdall? Please help me out here because I only got this device yesterday and It really sucks that it's not working. Someone suggested that It's the kernel's problem and I need to be running the original kernel which is (Kernel version: 3.0.8-292098-user [email protected] #1 Build number: IML74K.P3113UEALCB). I checked and I'm running kernel version (3.0.8-275757-user se,[email protected] #1) Build Number: (IML74K.P3113UEALD3). He also suggested that I do a factory reset to reset the kernel. I did using the stock recovery and the kernel remained the same modified version. Is there anyway that I can revert back to the stock kernel? Someone please help.
I was able to fix it easily. I found someone online who had an identical Galaxy Tab 2 and had them make a nandroid backup and send me the files over dropbox. I got an md5 mismatch error which was simple to fix after some googling and then the restore went fine. Now I have no problems with the tab and the kernel is @SEP-66 #1 instead of @SEP-103 #1 which was causing the problem.

Galaxy Note not booting after firmware update
Hi,
The same thing happened to me today. My phone indicated that an update was required. When I proceeded to install, the phone is stuck at the SAMSUNG logo.
My phone is not rooted. About a few weeks ago I had upgraded from GB to ICS.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Facing the same problem
Hi all,
I am facing the same problem since this morning. I have not rooted my phone. Recently I upgraded my Galaxy Note from Gingerbread to ICS 4.0.3. This morning, I upgraded the firmware, as I had done this in the past as well, I didn't think it may lead to any problem. But since then, the phone starts and shows Samsung prompt. Is it because of any bug in the latest update? Does anyone know what to do in this situation?
I am facing the same problem, the Samsung logo keeps glowing off and on after the boot chime plays.
Does any one have any clue about this? I think its happening to India users who got this update.
Edit: I am unable to go into the recovery screen as well. The green droid shows, some loading happens(tries to?) in the bar below and the screen turns off and if I keep holding the buttons the same cycle repeats. Leaving them at any point leads to the Samsung glowing logo and no boot!
Another one bites the dust
Faced the same problem yesterday...running around to get my contactsrescued...even the authorized service centres are only assuring flashing it -0 as if it is a big obligation
Need someone to access dram... jtag to a usb mode...going to try at heera panna & manish market tomoro - both in Mumbai

Found the solution!!!
Hi Guys, I've found the solution.
Edit: Since, I received queries from many people, I would like to know from the advanced/experienced members if the solution I am suggesting is absolutely right or not, and if it could lead to any problem. My phone is working fine, I haven't lost any data.
The solution:
1. Download the stable ICS version released in May.
2. Install it manually using the ODIN settings.
Guys, please help us out, let us know your opinion.
add me to list
using just the stock rom
this update flashed on the notification and after installation doesnt go beyond the
boot screen

so your device is completely stock and locked with no custom rom or kernel ever or currently applied?
your kmsg's all point to issues i've seen with users on a custom kernel. specifically a user on one version of android and a kernel on a different decimal version (i.e. 4.4.2 firmware and 4.4 kernel, etc).

Yes, I didn't installed any custom rom or anything.
Maybe it's an outdated kernel (Nov 20 1013)? View attachment 2516120
If it is outdated, please tell me how I can update it (I just recived my first Android phone, I'm quite a noob (now))
Thanks
Edit:
I just got a new reboot reason: Last boot reason: hw_reset View attachment kmsg8.txt
Should I root it and install Franco kernel? Will this stop the rebooting?
I have somewhat the same problem although my device doesn't reboot every 15 minutes but rather 2 times every day.
I have the same android and kernel version so I thought I'd bump this post.
I also am experiencing similar behavior. It reboots maybe twice a day. I was on CM11 and was getting frequent reboots suddenly one day. Tried the Franco kernel with no better results. I switched back to stock everything except TWRP, now they are fewer, but still annoying. Could it maybe be an app that we have in common? I did not experience these reboots when I first got the phone, nor for months with CM11, so it stands to reason that it is something that changed recently.
kernel_panic
My phone has never been rooted and it's running stock 4.4.2 with various apps installed.
I've had occasional random reboots and some were before the 4.4.2 update. I've been unable to work out why but if I had to guess, it would be that it's Wifi related. Previously, it's happened when the phone was on the table, apparently doing "nothing". Today it happened when I was clearing a notification.
The last reboot before today was twelve days ago and the "bugreport" contained no "boot_reason". The bugreport I generated after the reboot today, shows "bootreason=kernel_panic". Not really sure what that means so maybe someone can tell me? I'd really like to know whether this is a hardware or software issue.
I did ring Google support after the reboot twelve days ago. The support person suggested I run the phone is "safe mode" or reset it and run it for a few days without installing any apps to confirm that the cause is not an app that I've installed. I haven't done that because the phone isn't very useful without any apps installed. I told the Google support person that I'd generated a bugreport but he didn't know what I was talking about and had no idea where he could forward it to if I was to send it to him.
In contrast, I also have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that has rebooted itself once in 18 months so I'm not impressed with the Nexus. Not sure what to do, next.

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 i8160 stuck on the boot screen.

Hi all. I know there are quite a few posts with people having a similar problem to this, however none of the solutions mentioned have worked for me. Recently, I updated my phone to JB using Odin 1.85 (I8160XXNF1). All was working fine, and when i recieved a notification saying there was an update available, I updated to a new version, which was also JB 4.1.2 but it changed to I8160XXMG2. Everything still worked fine at this point, though there was still an update available. So, once again, I decided to update it although this time the phone never fully booted, it gets stuck on the boot screen every time (the one saying 'SAMSUNG galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160' not the animation). I couldn't boot into recovery, only into download mode so I flashed the previous JB (I8160XXNF1) which worked, however this has not resolved the problem and the phone is still stuck on the same screen.
Okay, thanks for reading this, please help if you have any ideas on how to resolve this issue.

S5 Rooted with safestrap and running 4.4 RicksRomV19.5. Need to update to fix issues.

Edit, Sorry, Can this be moved to Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I need a little help.
My wifes S5 is rooted via safestrap running on RicksRomv19.5. It seemed to be working great since I purchased it about 2 years ago. Well recently her phone won't come out of 3g, and then her phone keeps randomly turning off and when it restarts it shows a significant loss of battery. I tried replacing the Sim card to no success, it stays in the "Please wait well your phone is being activated." Never completes. So I put the old one back in and it works without 4g. I'm wondering if the Rom and Modem are causing issues being that its still 4.4. I have a replacement battery on the way just in case thats the issue. I'd like to try updating it to 5.0 or higher and upgrade the modem to see if it fixes any of the mentioned issues. I'm fairly capable of flashing and upgrading roms but havent followed any of the S5 stuff since I still use a Note 3. What do I need to do to get it upgraded? Thanks
