spice mi-280 problems
i'm using spice mi 280 and i had problem with wifi , it tuns off automatically after 4 to 5 seconds only , another one is touch ....some times it behaves like pinch to zoom i have to lock and unlock the device then it comes to normal... please help i'm a noob to android sorry if bad english thanks in advance........i'm attaching some of the backups from my fone....

another problem i'm facing that when i single touch device it detects like multitouch i've to lock and unlock then it comes to normal this problem irritates me..... because of this i'cant play games surf web continuously this problem repeats every 5 or 10 mins....
i think new(stock) rom or custom rom can fix it

I think ur coll wifi is having proxy server and think u shud assign it before browsing thro the browser.....can u tel me which browser u using...if u having opera mobile browser then do this...
type opera:config in the address bar which den opens a page with several options and in that u can change the proxy setting under the option proxy....hope it may help u...if nt repost it.....
If the above method doesnt help den go to the developers tool option under the same page and type ur proxy address and port.....try it.

I have a spice mi 280 rooted with gingerbreak. It was working fine and well for a month (with the root) but suddenly (I have no idea why ) the touch screen stopped working, initially it would work after a few tries, and once unlocked, things would work fine. But now, i cant even get past the lock screen. The physical keys work, so i can still accept calls, but nothing else.
Does anyone have any idea about this problem and the cause?

goto factory mode (voolume up+ select key +power key)
and test your touch screen
if test fails then it is hardware prob goto spice care
if test pass it is software prob then try nand flash

Yes, I already tried the test, it failed in the sense that the screen doesn't respond to touch even in factory mode, so I can't really go ahead with the test. It also fails in the keys test, for the capacitive keys, the physical ones work fine. One oddity I noticed is that in some touch panel test, while drawing the white lines, the screen behaves as if it gets another touch input, at a point about half an inch below the Bezel from top, around the centre.
I guess it is a hardware problem, so off to spice care (I'd hoped it wouldn't come to this with the rooting n all)
Ha, a simple re calibration of the panel from factory mode fixed it, preliminary tests show that its working fine now.
@Chosen14u, I suggest you try the same, if you haven't solved your problem already
Go to the factory mode by powering off and switching on by pressing Vol up, select key (the round key), power button.in the menu go to item test-> touch panel calibration and let it calibrate. It worked for me

plz help i'm not able to get into factory mod it stucks on spice logo.... first time i'm able to get factory mod and now its not working don't know why.. plz help ...my touch has also little bit problem it behaves like multitouch sometimes , i've to lock & unlock then its come to normal...my wifi it self turning off & when i power off it's not completely turning off it stucks on spice logo...help (sry if bad english)

if i'm right, there are no custom rom's for the spice mi280, and i think no developer will ever create a rom for it. Don't get me wrong, in the rom's matter, globalisation plays a big role. In the terms of smartphone manufactureres, Spice, along with Lava, micromax is a third tier manufacturer. They didn't even release updates for their devices. By the way, what was the need for rooting your device.

The default stock rom is slow n sluggish taking up a lot of internal memory....

Hey guys, Im new to this site and pretty new to the Android operating system. I just got myself a Gionee E3, Dont say it doesn't exist or anything because its not on the website. Its not released yet in many places and Im in China where Im pretty sure they are moving the stock first. There is a video of it on youtube, just search "Gionee E3". Basically, its an amazing phone for the price you pay for in hardware specs (I think) but the problem is the Gionee stuff that comes with it. Im unable to do anything related to google accounts much less download from the Play Store. The current version is 4.2.1 and I've read that other people with Gionee issues in the past have had to root their phone and install custom firmwares and all that just to get google play store working. Now, Im ok with that, just that there aren't any instructions for this particular phone out yet, in the mean time, anyone know of any other methods I can try? Please??

Tried that first, didnt work. Also tried downloading the apk from the computer and installing it, didnt work. Think theres something in the phone that is stopping it form running Google stuff. Will need to wait until theres more info/a way to root I think.
Five simple steps:
Step 1: Root your phone using One-Click root or any other free software
Step 2: Install Root explorer apk from apkmania. Note: Place the apk file on your sd card. If you have a file manager, use it to open the apk. If you don't have a file manager, Open the web browser and type: file:///sdcard/ (name of the apk file).apk
Step 3: Install System Tuner pro apk. This allows you to uninstall all the crappy apps you don't need.
Step 4: Install google play store apk. Available on-line.This app allows you to officially download all the apps.
Step 5: Go out and Explore. :good:

Did anyone install custom recovery on Gionee E3 from above link? Please confirm. I have successfully rooted the phone. But have not been able to locate custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.

1. Gaming Performance - This is the most frustrating thing that i found out as this mobile scores awesome on benchmarks .
I was facing many issues playing even the casual games like fruit ninja . I don't know what was causing this issue but the game was lagging . But on the other side a game like Dead Trigger Played awesomely..!
Also i was facing a lil bit of frame drops in games like
Subway Surfures
Temple Run 1 & 2
Asphalt 7
But on the other side Front line Commando Played Awesomely
I am still a little bit confused and thinking what is causing these issues. So i installed nova launcher , rooted my phone , deleted all the useless crap that gionee puts on this phone , and installed some task killers and an app named trickster mod (mobile needs to be rooted)
and did some tweakings in the app trickster mod and then the games that i mentioned played awesomely but for the time when the application trickster mod is running and each time u lock and unlock the phone u will need to launch this app to regain the access to the awesome performance.
2. No custom roms available yet
3. Heating issue near the camera when playing high end games
4. Camera Crashes Sometimes (Rare Times)
5. Screen Blacking Out and To do a Battery Pull (Rare)
That's pretty much u will need to know before buying this device.
Overall a good device ,
Some things Gionee needs to fix like Making their UI more simplistic and stock
Increasing the gaming performance by changing some software of the phone in their further updates
Removing the Pre-Loaded Crapware

1. Install the app in ur pc.
2. Run it and select "Smart Root"

If I load it with many apps... does it hang or get slowed down? I want to use it for constant internet connectivity with instant messengers like whatsapp and others... Want to use social networking sites like Facebook and others,... and stay in touch with Google maps... What do you say... should I buy it?

Starting off with the phone is very sleek and light. Till now it hasnt hanged even once. Honestly i am yet to try out the google maps so will post review in a day or two. Battery can be rated 7.5/10 as it gives a healthy amount of service, i used wifi for about 5 hours till it got red. If you load it with many apps then obviously it will get a bit slower as its having armv7 processor wid 512mb ram, try not to overhaul it, Otherwise the phone is pretty nice, sound is ordinary. Whatsapp and facebook works really well without lag. Games are real crisp and smooth, BUT hd games and games which r high end will have some lag but still it does not force close thats the good part.
Especially all of this at this price is a real good deal.
My suggestion u can go ahead and buy it. best of luck with it. Enjoy

i saw in youtube they were playing high end games like real racing 3,asphalt 8. Is it realy capable of playing high end games? I want to buy a budget phone for some gaming. Please suggest me.
A12+ stuck at boot screen
i have A12+ and have rooted it successfully:laugh: but then in hurry i have installed chainfire downloaded long ago which is not compatible with jellybean 4.2.2 and i am stuck in boot screen (the eye) , i have already tried wiping data and cache from recovery and i have not installed cwm i have stock recovery. i could have uninstalled it via adb but 4.2.2 have sideload only hence adb commands are not working adb shell returns error : closed error. now the only option i have is to flash stock rom which i have not backed up so it would be very kind of you to upload it .or i have also read that it could be achieved by installing TWRP recovery and then renaming some files and changing some values from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560607 , who had similar case like me .so if anyone could provide me the stock rom and preloader drivers it would be very helpful my mobile is just a week old :crying:

It sounds like a ROM issue, have you tried flashing the stock ROM ?

I did not try the stock rom itself but I tried gopi naidu's other roms like jellyblend and bugglessbeast.

Re-Flash stock ROM as it may be a ROM issue, then if it persists you know its a hardware problem

Hey bro... Since the mobile's model is not mmxa110q in "About Phone"< will there be any problems in the phone detection by apps or play store?
Screen locks without lighting up
Firstly, great job bro. I installed d the rom and it works fine. I had a small problem. Once the touchscreen locks, the screen doesnt light no matyer howany times i press the power button. I mean the touch works as i got it shut down and restart by guessing the position of the Ok button and the home and menu buttons lit up, but not the screen. So i flashed ot again to stock rom but the problem persisted. And the "Android 4.4" logo didn't go even after flashing. The touchscreen problem persisted. Then i had to restore the system to older version after which there was no problem with the screen )but the android screen didn't go away). So i flashed kitkat again and same story
I flashed v1 rom again and same problem. So i restored using CWM. Can you tell any solution to this issue?

Dude there should be no issues with phone name for detection on playstore,u should be able to download the apps freely from the playstore!

Read the third post carefully
All the procedure went well and asked to reboot but
unfortunately it doesnt get past the
xolo logo screen. I know it takes around 3 to 5 mins for first boot but waited for more than two hours but nothing happens. Can anyone help me in this? I am using latest philz touch recovery.

Too much of Battery Drain After Reboot :crying:
battery drained from 80 to 50 after a reboot
And then charged back to 99 in just 9 mins
Why is this happening??

i havnt faced such issue yet, also not reported by anyone else.
I suggest u reflash the rom with all wipes - system/data/chache/delvic chache.
please report back.

I am using hny rom Legend v10 rom.
In this these is motion pre setting that changes song or starts song stops it when the phone is flipped.
