Hey guys I couldn't find the forum for the ROM so i had to make a new thread i apologize for that. I got the ROM download link in one of the other threads someone had just posted a link to download it. its the DFT freedom V1 For sprint HTC Arrive. Anyways, the issue that i am having is that when i put my phone on WiFi it works for about 5 minutes and than it just stops working. As soon as i take it off of WiFi the data or app loads right up. I was curious if anyone else that is on Sprint and is running this ROM has had any problems? or if someone could please post a link to the thread with that ROM so that i can see if maybe there is an update? I love love love the ROM but this WiFi is really bugging me, i use WiFi religiously.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I've always had this problem, at least in Mango. It's quite annoying and I have to toggle my wifi off and back on again. If there is a fix I'd sure like to know.
Are you connecting anything to your shared WiFi? Because if you don't the connection automatically shuts down. I believe it does this this to save on battery and to save on data.
Sent from my PC93100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Yea I've had the same issue not really sure how to fix it. Hopefully it's fixed in the next release
Ran into something somewhat similar, will have to look around a bit but I found a fix is to disable Data Connection within the Cellular settings when you want WiFi to work. :/
I'll see what I can dig up otherwise.
The problem I have is that the Wifi MAC ID changes everytime the phone is rebooted or started after a shutdown. Since I filter by MAC in my router, it is a major pain to keep changing my router settings everytime the phone runs out of juice.
So this is a problem with Mango in general and not just the DFT rom? That's good to know. Thanks so much for the tip on shutting down the data connection when using WiFi. I will actually give that a goski.
On another note, does anyone on sprint have trouble sending picture messages? Me and my wife both have this HTC arrive on sprint and our pic mails fail almost everytime and same with receiving the pic messages. We need to turn off WiFi, restart the phone and than about 80% of the time it works. I seen on thi9s ROM that it has a spot for son setting and maybe if I fill that out it will work?
Also, does anyone have a link to the rom I mentioned in the first post? I'm on the HTC arrive sprint dft v1 for gold and was curious if there is any updates on the rom.
One last thing lol, is there anyway to do a complete backup of the phone and apps so that when we flash to a new rom it backs everything up? Thanks in advance!

I had problems with MMS failing all the time too. I fixed it by changing the network profile and prl. After that it's never had a problem. Hope that helps.
So i wentto settings than celluar and i did the update profile and theupdate prl and my picture messages still fail every single time. So i dont know what is going on. My wife has the same phone and the same rom and she also has the same problem. I dont beliebve it to be rom related because we both had the issue on sprints stock mango wp7 rom.
Recently i have been having trouble with my phone going and staying in 1x mode. i dont know what is causing it and i looked around for the APN setting thati would use for this phone and wasnt able to find ones that matched what it asked for in there. Does anyone have the APN settings? I just hard reset my device to see if that fixes it.
Is there a dedicated thread about the DFT rom? i keep getting 1x on my phone making it pretty useless and i checked my wifes phone and same story, i keep posting my questions here because i dont want tot pollute and i cant find the DFT rom for Sprint thread if there is one. any help?
or anyone know the proper APN settings?
Just wanted to bump on this. This WiFi issue is brutal. Is there no official support channel for this DFT ROM? I'm going to have to move to a different ROM soon, as it doesn't seem to fail over gracefully from WiFi to data.

OK, we all know the problem with radio 1.65.17.10... DO NOT FLASH IT, IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE RADIOS!!!
I actually found a major benefit (for me) to use it.
I had been experiencing problems with ATT here in California, where my data connection would just stop working, despite showing it being connected. The fix would be easy, just disconnect the data session and reconnect and it would be fine again for awhile (anywhere from an hour to a day). The problem for me is that I use direct-push email for work, when the data connection would fail, there was no warning of a problem. Emails would go missing until I checked Activesync, noticed the failure, and reinitiated the data connection. Very annoying, and easy to miss important messages...
So after troubleshooting with ATT, to no avail, and numberous trys with various radios and ROMs here on XDA, I decided to try it.
My issue has been gone for 4 days now. It is possible that Dutty's new Hybrid v2 helped, but all of his previous ROMs had the problem. So, it was either the new radio, or the new ROM.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS RADIO, YOU CAN'T REMOVE IT CURRENTLY!!!! (but it worked well for me)

Just be sure that you're kaiser is "security unlockt" before installing 1.65.17.10, then there is no problem to change to another radio.

Com'on guys. This is a PUBLIC forum. As long as he follow the rules, and I think he is fine. lately I have see so many "police" wants ppl to follow he or her rules.
I understand how difficult to read the same post again and again.
His topic might not interest you, but here I am. I like to know what are the benefits from previous user.
Please do not judge people by your standard.
BTW, what I do not like to see is: "good job", "you the best", "Dutty, you did it again"...etc all the good words. That is what I call a waste of my time. But you see hundreds of posts like that. This is just an example. What I like to see is the "pro" and "con", so I can narrow down the actual benfit of flash to a new ROM. I have never see anyone here saying anthing about this. Everytime when a new ROM update, I probably have to read more than 50% on good words. Tell me about that!!

I'm doing everything you say but it shows me the three color screen without say "security unlocked" . What else can I do to unlock it?
Thank you
Being a chef, putting out a special rom for the public takes a great deal of time. They need the certain feedback from users on the rom. The first few posts are cluttered with the good jobs and great rom, but this is the thing to thank the chefs for their time and efforts.
As for this thread, I know its dug up in there, but people have stated the benefits in the 1.65.17.10 radio thread. The Kaiser ROM development forum is really cluttered with a lot of threads so having these redundent threads just makes the development forum more cluttered.

Tq for yourfeedback. I face the same problem with what u had but mine is more serious!!! My EDGE connection (I am in Malaysia using DiGi) lasts only minutes. 50% of the time a reconnections do not get my connection back and the wait for the disconnection of "E" takes 2-3minutes too. So far as you had mention, all the ROMs and RADIOs i have tried did not solve this issue and no one here had any clue to this. I am really TEMPTED to test this radio from HELL but am worried I may get more hell should it not solve my problem.. Appreciate your input here

Feedback is far better thanks than just "thanks." If people are saying thanks, then they are probably using the ROM, and if they're using the ROM they should have something to say about it. Even if it's just a few things they like.

I have asked this in the Dutty's ROM section but no answer - so let me try here. I was wondering if this radio would solve a big problem I have had ever since I switched to Dutty's ROM. In HSDPA mode I have lost the feature of simultaneous data and voice. Before I flashed over from the AT&T stock ROM I was able to stream from my Slingbox or Sirius Radio applications and, when I got a phone call, the phone would ring and I could make the call. Post call, the data session would still be active.
With all the Dutty ROMs I have tried once the call comes in - or is placed - the data session ends. BTW - If I switch my SIM over to my Blackjack the simultaneous data/voice feature returns - the BJ has a cooked WM 6.1 ROM also.
Have you found that this radio resolves those issues??

Well, I wish I could provide you some good advice on that one, but your problem is quite different than mine. Have you tried changing the GPRS authendication menthod? PAP vs CHAP?
Odd - I have tried a bunch of the Kaiser, Sena and Niki radios with the same issues. Once I go back to the stock AT&T ROM all is well. Definitely not worth running the AT&T ROM for the feature; I may try one of the Non-Dutty ROMs just for a test.
Hi Guys!
I am having strange problem with my DS.
I cannot connect to my Google account,Facebook App is not working and...
Well to cut the story short pretty much any app that requires connection to the internet+credentials will not connect.Amazon appstore,Tweetcaster,Tweetdroid,Friendcaster...you name it...the only one that works is official Twitter App(weird).
When I'm tring set up my Google account all I'm getting is "Cannot establish reliable connection..." I know I am connected to the internet cos I'm writing this post on my phone.browsing internet is the only thing I can do.
Now I was searching net for this problem and the only suggestion was HARD Reset.I can rule that out cos I went even further.I flashed 5 different ROMs and problem still persist.
Next thing on my mind was there is something wrong with my carrier.Nope.rang them up and they claim all is ok on their side.I'm on 3UK and I have iPhone4 as well on 3 UK.on iPhone4 everything works flawlessly so I swapped SIM cards.guess what...the same thing on DESIRE S.
I am no noob and I went through literally all the platforms being able to solve 99% of my problems on my own but this one seems to be bigger than me.
If anyone came across this problem before or knows the answer please help.
Thank you in advance.

Okay, lets try to solve this one quickly.
First, some history...
When did this start happening?
Was everthing working well initially, and then suddenly this problem popped up, or has it been like this from the beginning?
Have you recently done any kind of modding or flashing to your phone prior to this?
Then, some diagnostic tests.
Do you have wifi?
If you do, Can you connect?
If you can, do your apps work well with the wifi connection?
Hi
Sorry i forgot to state this in first post.
Yes I have wifi and I when I'm connected to it everything works great.can connect to anything.
I did flash few ROMs while trying to fix this problem.no luck there.
And yes.it all started all of a sudden.before I was one happy DS owner.

Could you please go to Setting> Wireless & Networks> Mobile Networks and check if toggling Network mode helps?
Also make sure that you've selected the correct Access Point Name (The APN should say www)
Let me know what happens.
Nope.tried switching mobile networks on/off.nothing.airplane mode on/off also no luck.APN is right and I can confirm that cos I can browse Internet.it seems that downloading is fine but as soon I try "send something out" like email or tokens to connect to certain services it fails.

Hi guys.sorry I have been off the forum for a while.
This is totally strange.i found out that this is happening only at certain place.when I am at work problem is there but as soon as I get home everything works fine.it must be something related to cell I am connected to while in my work area.my colleague told me he is suffering from the same thing.he has HTC Desire HD and custom ROM on board and he is also 3UK customer.but what I don't understand at all is that my iPhone works like a charm using the same network.obviously I called customer service again and they claim there is nothing wrong with the network.
Thank you for all your suggestions guys.
Okay I have been having the t-mobile "invalid sim card" issue and the phone currently is running with the t-mobile carrier logo. I was able to make calls, and connect via WiFi. I am not able to access the web2go page when I select data in the "wireless & network settings" page with a check. I used to be able to at least access this page with wifi turned off and it would show a little 4g icon on the top? I will post some screenshots. I downloaded GeRIL just to see what it said? I think my phone is rooted? I ran superuser and said the phone was not but the last action I did before getting the t-mobile to show up was a zip restore with CWM so I assume it's rooted? Might be just a flash? One other thing is that I have the WiFi and GPS on and it does not appear to get my location for weather in the weather app?? I can open Google maps and GPS is within 60 meters of my location. I want to reboot the phone but am afraid it won't be back to normal and I will get the error "Invalid Sim Card" again? Is there anything or tests to run while the phone is on the t-mobile network I should check first before rebooting? Or files I should try to use or flash? Or any service menu codes to run diagnostics? Thanks in advance. I forgot to mention that I will be getting a replacement from t-mobile in a week, I did the online chat and they said they will send a replacement under warranty. The box has a date of 7/29/2011 so the phone is about 3-4 months old? The phone is unlocked and has been rooted before, but the issue happened days before I modded this G2x. Basically, today it could connect and tomorrow it might not...or If I reboot It usually goes to the "Invalid Sim Card" I have read other posts with issues of the same type from other users but found no solutions?? Baseband, RIL, Sim ect...all points to a bad phone(using t-mobile) because If I use any other carrier card in the phone it works without errors. That makes me think it's a firmware with t-mobile issue but I could be wrong? Hopefully if the replacement goes thru the same ICS 4.0 will be out and make this phone a beast again?
This might work or it might not: rename your APN manually (Settings/Wireless/Mobile networks/Access Point Names/edit) you can either edit or restore to default to restore mobile data connectivity. Try restoring to default.
I just accidentally hit Airplane mode and it killed it!!! Now it's back to the Invalid Sim Card error again...bummer!!!!
Wait a minute...I waited and read a few posts and clicked the Airplane mode off and on again and it came back to the t-mobile carrier..??? I still have not rebooted the phone though? Hmmm...should I?
Did you get a new sim card when you got the phone? I remember when I got this phone they told me not to use my 5 year old sim card from my previous phone. I say try a new sim card, if that doesn't work try to reset the apn with the instructions I posted last, and if that doesn't work it might just be a bad sim card reader.
I think more on the lines of a bad sim card reader...I have a new sim card...about a 3 days old, got it from t-mobile cause i had the older sim with the larger gold contact patch. The phone is already on order...they said 7 business days..

Yes some times that will work. Other times might take 2 reboots. Also sometimes toggleing airplane mode can bring back apn. After a few sim cards and all my problem went away. When I had the issue I was cm7 rom. Stock Rome didn't really seam to have this issue.
just to close this thread I already received my replacement phone from tmobile. I am no longer trying to track down the issue. Thanks for all of the replied and comments. every one who contributed will get a thanks from me.

Yes doing a hard reboot will reset the Apn/data loss problem. (Also toggling airplane mode would some times reset it.) This is only a tempory solution as it could happen again. On cm7 rc1 it would happen to me at least once a day. As well as many others. Off of the top of my head it was something wrong in a radio file.(? Not sure what file) shortly after the release cm7 stable 7.1.0.1 was posted. I believe that had the patch for the data loss issue. It is possible that some cm7 based Rome may still have a data issue loss as they might not have the updated patch. At the time stock based Roms did not have the issue and as far as know. Some people faced with this issue could have had a faulty sim or phone. The other thing that was happening during the life of this issue was how many people running cm7 based roms didn't have the issue. I no longer have this issue. I followed the bug report that was submitted and sealed out the sim card twice. (I think it was cm7 issue on my device) OP- I hope that this swap works for you. If it don't, I will be more that happy to help. also thank you for your service.
I have posted what I know and can remember here in hopes that it can help some one else out in the future.

When I had the phone I installed CM7, and the daily's...ect..It WAS a phone issue (hardware) I now have had the replacement phone for 1 week and no issues what so ever. That's not to say that the issue will arise again? I have rooted and am running no ROMs at the time but am thinking of going back to the FROYO 2.2 just to get the camera like it was in the older version. I hate the camera in GB 2.3.3. No zoom....c'mon LG..where did you guys lay down to sleep during this process if the development? One other feature that has nothing to do with the camera that I would like to see happen is to be able to enable a bluetooth mouse. I tried my Targus mouse and no luck. I think you can use a bluetooth keyboard but have none to test. I was thinking of shelling out the 160 smackers for the infared keyboard..small and can fit in your shirt pocket, and it's bluetooth.
Just rooted and installed the latest MIUI Rom (6.1) for the first time and I have not been able to connect to data. I know you have to toggle data and tried the GSM only and back to GSM/CDMA auto, however, no luck. I would post in the specific thread, but as a new user I am not allowed to. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!
Edit: Wow for anyone still having this problem I turned on USB debugging on it worked. Not sure if that helped, but I think it worked for me.
Edit 2: Haha nevermind it was only a short fix. Still no data
Wow thats a weird fix. I would have opened the "download" app and switch between download via wifi and mobile data that fixed mine. Anyway glad u figured it out.

When I first change the phone settings it will show 3g and 1x, however, no data and then it goes straight to cell signal only. Love the rom, but no data is a killer. Seems like everyone is able to eventually get it.
Alright for anyone else having this problem I left it on CDMA only instead of auto and the 3g is working. Not sure if 4g will work, but I can edit later and let everyone know.
If anyone knows a 4g fix let me know.
Edit: Just got 4g randomly haha I have no idea what is going on.
Hi, been a member for a while, haven't posted before though, (yeah I know, I'm an ass who just downloads and flashes roms), but I have a MAJOR issue now. I tried the MoDaCo.one rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1711783 and decided that it wasn't for me, so I restored my old backup of CleanRom 4.2 Standard. However, upon restoring this image, my phone keeps looking for a LTE connection, even though there is none available, and as such, will not connect to any mobile network. I have tried doing a total reinstall of CleanRom, i have tried resetting everything, i have tried changing the APN settings, everything I can think of. I even called AT&T to see if something was up with the data in my area, and it is all fine, in fact, while I was on the phone, the LTE turned off, (as LTE cannot run while the voice is connected for some reason or another) and I actually got a connection, so it is something with the phone trying to get LTE all the time. Is there some way I can fix thigs?
Also, after trying the MoDaCo rom, my phone only does a hot reboot/fastboot, unless I use the power button hard reset. Any help anyone might be able to give would be greatly appreciated, I can't really afford another $650 phone lol
P.S. If someone, ANYONE, can give any kind of help, I promise I will be coming in and trying to help anyone I can from now on. I'm a Linux Dev (Mint and SolusOS) so I'm not a complete and utter moreoff in terms of how the OS works.

Does Wifi stay on and not search for connection? Meaning does Wifi always stay connected?

thanx for the fast reply, wifi work exactly as it should, no issues there, but mobile data is all kinds of messed up. However, just for s#*T's and giggles I decided to try and see if maybe I could get miui v4 2.7.20 to work, and for some reason or another, mobile data works in this one. I'm not exactly sure what's going on, and to be honest, I think I'm gonna try a few roms and see if maybe its only default ice type rooms that work, which would prob mean that something in sense is messed up after the MoDaCo rom trial. If Anyone might have an idea of what's going on, I'm all ears.
Well if all else fails run a ruu and start with a clean slate.

Yeah, I think i may do that, maybe even relock the bootloader, unroot, and start over from a factory default and see if maybe I can get things repaired, or least working right lol.
