Stuck at Samsung Logo and no access to download or recovery mode. - Samsung Infuse 4G

Recently I went from Miui to Revelation to check it out and everything seemed fine. I tried to restore something and my phone ended up freezing. I got it back into red recovery and everytime I rebooted (before and after trying restoring) it would just boot back to the CWM that was with each different backup. Miui-Blue and Revelation went to red. Anyway, I used Odin and finally got it back to stock root with one of my stock root files. Now today i was trying to update files again and now I'm stuck at the Samsung Logo and can not access either CWM or Download mode. With the phone off and plugging in cable as if just charging it while off it goes directly to samsung logo. HELP?? I've never seen this before and cant find anything on it.

Pull battery, plugin USB cable, then insert battery. You are now in download mode.

Im not a total newb. I've searched the forums and there isn't anything on it. I've tried all the normal stuff. It has to be something a little more complex than that.

I'm going to try to get it working again when i get home. I tried a few things here at work, but no luck. I don't know if there are any differences between micro usb's, but the one I have here at work is for a LG. Charges my phone fine, but maybe something with that? In the mean time, I have AT&T shipping me another phone just in case I cant figure this one out in the next few days. I would like to get my info off of the internal sd before I ship it back. Any info would be much appreciated.

Wow...it wouldn't let me do the download mode because of the cable. Didn't really see that coming. ***Note--LG cables DO NOT work as data cable on Samsung*** (Charging does)

Try Buying a blackberry torch's Microusb cable. it did wonder s for my phone resetting it to stock

It worked when i got home. everything is good now. Do you all think i should swap with the refurbished one for the hell of it?

Download mode
You may want to order (or make) a Download Mode jig from Ebay.
They are available for about $2 shipping included. Just snap it into your charge hole, reboot, and it will automatically go to Download Mode. Once there, you remove the jig and snap in your USB cable and you're ready to go. No more taking the case apart, pulling the battery, and holding down the buttons.

[Q] Captivate Bricked

I tried flashing a new rom with cwm. My phone is stuck on the att world phone screen. I tried the usual pull the batt, sim, and sdcard then put back in the battery and ahold the volume buttons while I put the usb cable in. It wont go into download mode. Any suggestions or do I have a $200 paper weight?

There are a bunch of "I bricked my phone" threads, and they have some good suggestions in there. One of them is to build a jig. Do a little bit of digging and you'll find the directions.
Pull battery leave it out for like 10 minutes. Try getting into dl mode again.

If you can see something on your phone's screen, it's not bricked... With some searching, you'll be able to get out of that, no problem.
Battery
When I try to go into download mode I'm just seeing the screen like it want to charge but nothing happens.

[Q] Hard Brick

Question, was in process of using ODIN when USB became discoed. Reconnected tried the process over but unresponsive. Decided to start over, pulled battery and now the phone won't power on. Anyone else experience anything similar or am I hard bricked to anyone's knowledge?

How much charge did the battery have when you started this process?
90% or so. Been charging it on the wall charger for the last 2 hrs but it's still not turning on.
Even though your screen Wont turn on sometimes Odin will still recognize it. Try this: turn Odin on pull battery from phone hold down volume buttons plug USB in put battery back in. see if Odin sees the phone. You may need to try several times.

It was just another example of my noobness. I didn't bother to try download mode. I forgot + and - with usb, so phone came on right into download. Only thing was Odin would not recognize phone. Hiemdall would but I couldn't seem to get that working. Then I moved the USB cable to different port on PC and ta da! Odin recognized the phone and the rest is history. Finally rocking the latest Valhalla.
Thanks again everyone.

That's great. These phones are very hard to brick!
OK, so I don't have to start a new thread and waste space (on the internet?), I wanted to try and piggy-back off of this one; feel free to move it.
Basically, I thought it would be OK to flash a Vibrant ROM over my girlfriend's GS4G. That was a stupid, stupid idea. I'm thinking hard brick, but cannot be sure. I've tried all sorts of button press/hold combinations, batter in/battery out, usb in/usb out and I get ZERO response.
Suggestions, or do I need to find a replacement phone and girlfriend? She works in Social Media and kind of uses her phone ALWAYS!
Well, hopefully worst case scenario you have to replace her phone. Make sure to plug the phone up to wall charger and let sit for an hour to make sure it has juice. Next, take battery out place it back in. Hold the volume up and down buttons together then plug in USB from PC to phone. This should get you into download mode. If you can get this far then there should be hope for fixing the phone.

OK, I think it was shot. We ended up going to T-Mobile, told them we did a software update via USB and the gal said, "yeah, you may have gotten a corrupt file. That'll happen." Then we got charged $20 for processing and she'll have a brand new phone by next week.
Thanks anyway.
i guess 20 isnt too bad. never flash a rom that is made specifically for your phone. dam, if you did this next week, you could have paid a little (and by a little i mean like 150. lol) and upgraded to a sgs2.

[Q] Infuse Won't Power Up.

I recently downloaded SD Maid Pro, cleaned out all the double files and now the Infuse just blinks Samsung until it dies. Can't get it to go into download mode or anything else. It just blinks Samsung til it dies. I plug in the charger and it just shows the starburst loading emblem. Can't turn it on, once I unplug the charger, it'll show Samsung and then just blink. Pulled the battery, put it back in.. automatically Samsung comes up and just blinks. Tried everything. I think it's done. Any suggestions?

Can you tell me step by step how you are trying to get into download mode...maybe you might be doing something wrong...also even if the screen goes blank after doing steps for download mode try and see if Odin/heimdal recognize it

Odin won't recognize it. I pulled the battery. Put it back in. Before I can plug in the usb cable it's flashing the Samsung screen.
Ok, try this
1) Pull battery
2) hold volume up + down
3) plug USB into phone/pc with Odin or heimdal running
4) place battery in
See if it boots into download mode that way

Nope, Just shows the starburst loading icon blinking like before.
Hmmm...well, if your not too sketched out and you pay for shipping, ill take a look at it and try to fix it...this is just an option and I understand if you don't wanna do that option ad I am a stranger and these phones ate expensive...
Can you check the power button...make sure its not stuck down...helped a guy not too long ago who had a similar problem only to find out his power button was stuck down

Yes, i've tried almost everything to get in download mode
download modes
nothing works it's like my power button is stuck, but it looks fine
M8, im dealing with the same situation with a couple motherboards. If im able to find a solution for that i will let you know. Ive done more than you have because i have even applied unbrickable mod to one of those two mobos with no luck. Pretty much same thing. The resurrector recognizes it but before it can resurrect the phone it will dissappear for good. So im starting to think it could be a damaged or corrupted file on the very lower levels of the infuse. But, at the same time, it maybe some hardware failure since i think unbrickable mod basically goes to the lowest level on the phone. Its a shame, but i have seen this many times on infuse phones. Never had to deal with that myself though....
Possible fix
My son brought me his phone last night with this same problem. I was not in the best mood to deal with it so made him, a teenager, go without a phone for a whole night....yeah dad of the year here. LOL. Anyway, I started working on it this morning and tried just about everyting I could think of until it thought of the Handyman's#! rule....If it doesnt work just bang on it. I took phone and with battery in it and cover on slapped it against my knee on the back cover in area where camera is. Dont try to break it just give it a good smack. Right after that it booted up and is just fine. LOL. I know it isnt the most scientific way to fix it...but it works for me and my son has his phone back. I hope this will help the rest of you out until we have a more defined solution.

My phone isn't recognizing a USB cable is plugged into the computer in fastboot

Hey guys, I have a softbricked Atrix2, I tried making a factory cable the other night, wired it correctly as far as I know, it turned on straight away without a battery into fastboot, but wouldn't recognize that a usb cable was plugged in (So power, but no data). And when I plugged in a normal usb cable with the battery in the phone still wouldn't recognize that a usb cable was plugged in. I am currently charging my battery right now, I wasn't having this problem before and am starting to think this phone is cursed by the devil himself . I'll be really disappointed if I charge this battery up and another problem arises, been waiting weeks for this charger. The phone was recognizing usb data cables without issue, tho of course I couldn't do anything because of the low battery, and suddenly it just stopped. Any ideas? Just don't want to spend all day trying to work this out because I've had a softbricked phone for weeks and only got to use it for all of about an hour .
More info: When I plug a normal USB in without a battery the white LED lights up and stays lit. Everything is pointing to power but no data... What would cause that and is there a fix
More more info: Battery OK
OK to program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Shows in device manager as "Unknown device", trying to force install of the "Mot single ADB interface" drivers just gives the error "The device cannot start (Code10), wont show up in ADB or RSD, and phone WILL NOT change status to USB plugged in. Time to think up a legit reason why my phone would say "Flash failure" and get a replacement?
A little more info maybe
What were you on before soft brick stock 2.3.6,2.3.5 or ICS???
How exactly did you soft brick it??
Have you tried getting the phone to start in the normal mode?(by pressing power+vol up+vol down and choosing boot normally???)

Went from 2.3.6 to stock 2.3.5 to OTA 2.3.6 to OTA leak to SCV7, phone kept crashing, tried to fxz back to 2.3.5 stock, said completely successfully but just bootlooped so I went to try again but the battery was low, so that's how I softbricked. And me being the impatient person I am I tried to make a moto factory cable with 2 non standard cables (Micro usb end from a mini to micro converter and the other end from something else), I'm sure I wired it correctly but I guess not, it booted into fastboot without a battery, but said connect usb cable, so I tried to plug in a normal usb cable (tried different ones) and it said the same thing. I shorted something out, the damage might just be on the micro usb PCB connector or it might be something worse. Yes I tried normal mode, no go, recovery works. So basically, my phone is now hardbricked because I'm impatient and screwed something up along the way. Now I have a 12 month warranty on the phone, can someone help me come up with a believable story that'll get me a new phone? Keeping in mind the phone boots into fastboot with (flash failure)
Trust me. The folks on the line at AT&T DON'T CARE.
Just BS your way through it. IE: I went to bed, plugged my phone in, woke up and the battery was really hot. Then the phone shut off and won't boot. Just play dumb.
All else fails. Hook that motherboard up to a car battery.

I bought it from a 3rd party seller (Mobicity.com.au). I think I might just go with "The phone kept crashing every 4-5 minutes, I tried to do the system update to 2.3.6 and the phone crashed halfway through, tried to turn it on again and it showed the Moto logo and something about a fastboot". Wish me luck guys .
Okay shipped it off, wish me luck guys, I'll keep you updated.
"Technicians needed to know which ROM used to update your handset?"
Not liking my chances with this at all. I got my dad to give them a call and act dumb, should be convincing because he honestly doesn't know what he's talking about. The phone says flash failed and he's denying ever flashing anything, I don't think a failed OTA update would give that error message so I don't think they're going to replace it..... .
EDIT: Dad called the technician and the tech said he's gonna fix it and that the motherboard was fried, looking good, phew!.
Update:
Your phone has been deemed unrepairable and as a result will be replaced by your place of purchase. Please contact your place of purchase and quote xxxxxxxx to arrange a replacement handset to be dispatched to you.

[Q] Won't turn on (Absolutely no feedback)

Hey guys. I apologize in advance if this has been asked before, but I did search and most the topics I found were with it starting to boot and then restarting.
My issue is a bit different, Although I'm going on limited info, as this was my friends Infuse.
He claims that during use, (Battery was above 50% charged, he says), the phone simply shut off, and he couldn't get it on. I've fiddled with this infuse before and I know it has had quite a few problems.
He gave it to me to look at, and I can't get any feedback from it either. I've tried download mode (It was running an MIUI rom I believe), no go. plugging into different usb ports, popping the battery and trying download mode. I can't get it to recognize on my PC nor any screen feedback on phone.
I was just wondering if theres anything else I can do short of tell him to buy a USB jig or anything else.
Also, The battery DOES get a little warm trying to boot it after awhile, and it gets warm near the SIM Slot, but thats about it.
Thank you guys. Sorry for the trouble.
See if you can get Odin to recognize it. You'll get a yellow box in the top right corner of the Odin program. Sometimes it will even though your computer doesn't seem to and download mode doesn't appear to start. Try putting into download mode (at least go through the motions) and go from there. Also, make sure you have the right drivers on your computer if you're using Windows. You need to download Kies mini from Samsung. Don't run Kies when Odin is on though!

Thank you for the response.
I use a SG SIII so as for getting into download mode, I'm not used to the infuse, but I tried the pulling the battery, then using the volume up and power buttons, (and again with the volume down, because I wasn't sure), but still nothing. it seems as if the phone isn't getting any power at all, even though the battery is warming up a tad.
I already had Kies installed (made sure it wasn't running while Odin was though!), also, I'm not sure if it matters, but he gave me no cable, so I was using my SG SIII cable. I also tried my Nexus 7 cable.
Also; I used Odin 1.7
Download mode is vol +/-, battery out, usb in, put battery in. Or vol+/-, battery in, then plug usb in. No power button.

Oh, Thanks. Probably should've looked that up..
Either way, still no-go. Odin can't recognize it. Neither on my laptop or my desktop PC. (Also tried different ports)
I bought a usb-jig because even if my friend is a cheap guy, I can spare a couple bucks (not even) towards it. Shipping is pretty slow (and I don't really have a ton of spare cables laying around to do it myself), so I'd like to keep trying any ideas you guys might have.
But I'll definitely see if that jig helps if I can't get it by then.
