[Q] Reboot, crash, freeze tracker? - General Questions and Answers

Are there any apps available tharly can runin the background and track when my phone reboots, crashes or freezes? How about logging battery usage?
For some reason, my Dell Streak has been having issues lately. To try and fix it I have even reset back to defaults and reinstalled the firmware.
What has been happening is...
- freezes when the phone has been sleeping. Requires a battery pull.
- random reboots.
- getting extremely warm in my pocket and draining the battery.
Since the phone is dead or reset, I can't determine what was happening when the problem happens.

CPU Speed
My Phone was doing that same thing. When I installed an RCMix3d kernel it nearly doubled my CPU speed and was making my phone crash and freeze all the time. Once I got SetCPU and set up some profiles to lower my CPU speed to something it could handle everything has been smooth sailing since.

Weird CPU Clock behavior

One more problem for my Sensation...
am I the only one who has his cpu always at maximum clock speed with almost any governor (except conservative), when the screen in on (when off it goes to minimum clock as it should), and there is minimum cpu usage?
I tried the latest ARHD (stable) and InsertCoin, the issue seems kernel independent as going stock or with another custom one changes nothing.
After wiping and flashing all seems good. After restoring my backups all seems good. A few hours later the issue starts and removing or freezing the apps does not solve anything.
Battery life is still decent, but this does not happen with my DHD or any other phone I previously had, so I'm a bit puzzled. My Current Widget readings are a mess so I cannot use them to understand if I can fully ignore the issue or not.
UPDATE:
Nevermind, seems that cat-ting the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq while connecting to adb ramps up the cpu so fast that it seems already at high clock! I must have been confused by the fact that when System Panel shows the clock, it is always high because of the app's "weight"...

[Q] Motorola Defy+ keep rebooting

I have a stock Motorola defy+ updated to 2.3.6. Been using it less than 6 months.
I have about 150 apps. About 50 are games and all games are transfer into my 64MB of sd card. The rest of the apps are in the phone memory.
Recently the phone started constantly automatically rebooting usually after i change battery, it will stays on for about 2-5min after the reboot, then it turn off and reboots again. This goes on for about 3 cycle before it all went well. At times it only auto reboot once after start up.
Initially i thought its the app so i reset the phone but still this occurs.
Everything seem normal and functioning well except for the few ocassion everytime when i change to a fully charged battery (because i have alot of spare batteries) , it will reboot again and again 2-5mins after the reboot.
This happen everytime i change to a full charged battery, does the battery got to do with it?
in addition, my phone is always very laggy too and whenever I run too much application that consume alot of memory, it will reboot itself too but that happen seldom. My cpu consumption is also always very high and i wonder why because do not run any major background processes except those from Motorola service(quite abit), Super task killer and NQ mobile security app.
anybody can offer advise?
Thanks.

If ur phone is rooted try overclocking the CPU to make up for the number of apps. Also try partitioning the SD card and putting the apps there instead because if u put so many on the SD with apps2sd the phone gets real slow as it loads all of them
Read about rooting, overclocking and partitioning

[Q] Issue with high CPU% usage by some services

Hi,
From last few weeks, I am getting random lag in my phone. Everything just moves in frames. I checked CPU load using android system info and found that service 'com.motorola.blur.service.main' consumes 100% CPU usage (also it shows 2 processes running for same). Also, some times service 'android.process.acore' too shows CPU usage as 100% (but phone does not lags at that time).
Any solution for that?
Another strange issue I am facing is that whenever I connect my phone to laptop/desktop in media mode and the phone is unlocked, random clicks starts happening itself (like bluetooth is turned on, data turned off, random shortcut on home screen gets clicked)
I have JB leak1 installed and phone is unrooted.
Thanks,
Deepak Anand.

Serious performance and battery drain issues

I haven't been on here for a while...
I have a p5113 and I flashed unlegacy-android 7.1 and s1mple-espresso kernel several months ago. About 3 months ago, it suddenly started having issues. I had not made any changes to the device for several months, but it just started happening one day. The system would lag really badly (completely unusable) unless I set the CPU governor to anything other than interactive. Even the powersave governor performed better than interactive. The system also would not put the CPU to sleep, so the device had severe standby battery drain and even got warm while in "standby." Unfortunately, wakelock detector apps could not find anything, so I just lived with it. A week ago, I decided not to put up with it anymore and flashed Omnirom 7.1 without the custom kernel. It worked fine for a bit, but the issues came back. Niether wakelock apps nor the built in wakelock scanner could find anything, but the device won't go to sleep, and it has unusable lag when set to the interactive CPU governor. What could be causing these issues? It is just a coincidence that I'm experiencing it on two different ROMs, or is it somehow related?
A new problem just appeared. Every few minutes, the device will almost completely freeze. Navigation buttons and volume keys also stop working. However, the power key still kinda works. The screen turns on and off but does not lock. The freezes last a couple seconds (a minute at most), then the device will react to all of the input its been given in that time as if it was all done in one instant. I usually get an app not responding dialog for the active app after the incident. In apps written in C/C++ such as Minecraft and SimplePlanes, only the UI freezes but the rest of the app keeps going. This leads me to believe it is a problem with the Android Runtime that interprets and compiles Java code. I can't figure out why, but the freezing issue almost completely goes away if I disable kernel samepage merging. Wiping cache and dalvik/art cache does not fix it.
Never mind. I'm giving up and going back to marshmallow.

SNS_SMD and RMNET_DFC wakelocks

Greetings, I have a problem with constant wakelocks on my MI11i phone since the day I bought it. Those wakelocks drain battery by 30% overnight, but also cause increased drain during the day in standby too since they instantly kick in as soon as the phone is locked, overall resulting in poor battery life. Even thou I am not an advanced user and has no need of it, I went so far that I completely factory reset the phone(this was the 2nd time), then reflashed new recovery and new official ROM to see will that sort the issue, then for a good measure I also rooted it with TWRP and Magisk. I tried underclocking the cpu to the lowest but it makes no difference while in standby since obviously that isn't the case. I tried using icebox but there were no processes that had SNS or RMNET in their names, so I just froze some analytics apps. Both wakelocks are gone as soon as I turn on the airplane mode or switch to wifi. Any app that can help me freeze those or edit something in kernel?
I found a rom that fixes the wakelock, listed here https://miuiflash.com/roms/miui-csx/alioth/miui-csx-v13-0-8-0-stable-alioth
But i couldn't find a way to contact the author for more info can i fix the kernel myself
