[Q] Sync MobileMe email to WP7 - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone been able to do this successfully?
I tried this :
http://www.ifans.com/forums/threads/how-to-use-icloud-email-on-non-ios-5-devices.345472/
But I couldnt seem to make it work. I have some people that i deal with occasionally that only have my @me.com email address, and they are the type of people that i do NOT want to miss an email from
So if anyone has done this successfully, let me know how please!

I have a me.com email address, and I used this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864 to set it up on my WP and it works perfectly.

Beautiful!
Thank you sir. Works like a charm.

Yahoo Email POP

Whats up everyone. This is the first thread I've started and was careful to run multiple searches and read thru a ton of treads before posting it. I'm hoping someone can give me a definitive answer as to if it's possible to get your Yahoo email via some sort of POP without paying for their premium service.
I've used XpressMail (I have a Cingular 8525) and that seemed to work, but it's just a terrible program that I didn't like. I do have work email that uses an Outlook server and that works fine, but I can't get my Yahoo to work. I don't even need push, I would be happy to have a program on my PDA/cell that will just check it every 15 minutes or so.
Yahoo Go! seems to be something that would work, but they don't have 2.0 for my phone yet and it seems there is a huge memory leak issue with 1.0.
Outside of Xpress Mail and Go are there any suggestions for receiving Yahoo email on my phone?
Thanks!

Windows Mobile VI - Black Edition v1.2 (UPDATED with SPL 1.30.Olipro)
Works for me as normal POP. I have a yahoo.co.uk email address, and can use both pop.mail.yahoo.com and pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk, without paying for anything.

Cool!! I didn't know it was that simple, I've been using Ypops! for a while, when in fact there's no need for that !1
The problem now is that outlook retrieves ALL messages from my inbox folder. in Ypops I could retrieve only the UNREAD messages in the inbox, which is very helpful. I don't wanna download all 1700+ emails which are on the yahoo account. I know there's a possibility to keep a copy on the server, but it's not what I want... Its would take almost 1 GB to download it all
Is there a way to configure Outlook (without using Ypops) to retrieve only unead messages????
Yahoo! Japan also allows POP without paying for anything...
I would have to sign up for a new yahoo.uk account though, correct? I would really like to keep my current email account as I've had it for about 10 years now...

Yes, as I've also explained in my related tutorial (please DO keep an eye on my articles and check my even older ones - they may prove very helpful) at, say, http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=42913 , it's only the "standard" yahoo.com that doens't have FREE pop3 access. All the others do.
Please DO read the above article, I've explained everything in there.

Well, am I missing something?? I have a @yahoo.com account, I didn't upgrade to yahoo plus, but still can receive and send email through Outlook, using the simple pop3 and smtp settings. How is that possible?? in the internal setting of yahoo, I've set it up to UK/Ireland, so I could try the Yahoo mail BETA (which I didn't like)
Anyway - I take the chance to ask again my question - is it possible to let Outlook download ONLY the UNREAD emails in my inbox???
Thanks

I did read your excellent article prior to posting Menneisyys. It was very informative. I was just hoping that some else may have come up with a solution or if all the @yahoo.com users really are screwed.
Kamal- would you mind telling me exactly what settings you are using in yahoo itself and also in Outlook? Thanks!

I can access my account via POP3 on my 8525 for free. And yes I'm in America. It's pretty much the same way as the uk version just without the .uk

Calendar appointments from Lotus Notes - Citrix :(

Hi Guys
i'm trying to get my work Lotus Notes appointments in to my WM6 device. Sadly this is not as easy as it should be as its Citrix environment and locked down tighter than a nuns chastity belt.
So, I thought I had an idea! I added my personal email address as an Invite to a meeting and hey presto... the phone received it. The email had the attachment:
C085635.ics
The file even had the little calendar icon ... "result!" i thought... until i clicked it and got the following message:
"Failed to save". Received data may be incomplete"
I've tried this with a couple of appointments but i get the same message. I think the error is misleading as all other attachments come through fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
same problems as you
Hello,
I have the same problems as you. Have you found a solution?
Thank you for your reply.
I've found a solution. Just enable "Include file attachments". You can found the setting in the Active Sync options, by the Email Settings. Hope it worked for you too.
I didn't find a solution to that specific problem but when I changed ROMS to a diferent one, it started working fine.
For me, it wasn't as Sussex said as
I think the error is misleading as all other attachments come through fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated...
(transferring to outlook and syncing the phone is not an opion for me - i an on the go, need to receive my mail and appointments during the day , and i don't have PC with me all the time)
Did anyone ever figure this out? I have the exact same issue on my HTC Tilt 2.
bumping up in hopes of a solution...
Bumping this up....ics from lotusnotes not working on my htc HD2 running Touch X-treme rom (OS-6.5.3). I fwded this same email to my BB9700 and it works fine on that device.
Any solution yet?

Group Texting

Hi Guys
probably a very common request but, has anyone seen an app that properly integrates into the WM address/contacts book and allows group texting?
I've tried some poor apps that are outside of the address book and (sadly) most of them don't work properly anyway :-(
Thanks in advance!
Don't know if you have tried this but Auto SMS Reply v 2.0 has a tool called Send MASS Sms that sends group of SMS to your contacts. It also has a host of other features like automatically sending SMS to your missed calls etc..
I use a TYTN 2, WM 6.1 ROM and auto SMS works fine for me..
thanks for that. Not heard of it so will download now and give it a try
lol - found it and had a look and whilst i think the "SMS Call blocker" auto-response could be very funny, its not really what I was after.
I really want something that integrates into the current address book system, thanks anyway though!
Group SMS can do wat you want. And it does a very good job if I may say so!
Only disadvantage might be that it's not intergrated into your address book, but for me that's no problem.

Thanks for that however, used that one and it didn't work very well for me at all! Problems ranged from not sending to all the group to some members of the group receiving the same message a few times.
That's to bad. I've used v1.4.5 on the HTC Trinity, TouchCruise and Kaiser. And it worked very good actually.
Hope you'll find the right app. for you..
try the app i hv developed and see whether it works for you.
Check my signature for the link.
HERE is the correct link.. ..your website URL's seem to be a bit messed up

Question about Email Client

So here is my problem, well, my dad's problem more specifically. Neither I, nor my dad, can figure out how to stop any email client from automatically adding addresses to our contact lists. For example, if I send an email to an address, let's say [email protected], and I have never sent an email to this person before, then I can go into my contact list and see [email protected] listed as a contact. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
Also, the problem was first recognized on my dad's Droid Razr Maxx, but it happens on my GS3 as well. Thanks in advance for any input.

Gmail for work e-mail setup failure???

Hey all,
After a brief departure from Android to iOS, I have came back with OG Pixel.
While I love everything about it so far, I have issue setting up my work e-mail on Gmail app.
Everytime I enter all the information needed, correctly, it tells me
"This server requires security features that your Android device doesn't support, including: Restrict text email size, Restrict HTML email size".
Funny thing is the work e-mail works perfectly fine on Galaxy models...
From googling, I've found out that it might have to do something with Gmail version?
Any input would be greatly appreciate!!!!
