Dude, are you sure that you're using this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6802504&postcount=1
Because downgrading recovery just helps for the normal milestone, not the XT720...
Rooting works also with the universal androroot app

Why didn't you just use UniversalAndroot.apk
It's a one-click kinda deal.
I believe you are referring to milestone root which is not applicable to the xt720. Just use the apk suggested by the post above.

I have tried UniversalAndroot.apk, the latest version (beta). I followed the steps and I got message on the screen, my phone is rooted. However when I tried using Titanium Backup it said "Sorry, I could not acquire root previleges. This application will not work! Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox, and try again."
So, is my phone really rooted? What I missed? thank you.
You are missing busybox!
You need to install it before using titanium backup.

Our phone is not on the listcbut you can give it a try(i can't cus I'm already rooted)And don't be afraid that you will damage your phone-the worst thing that can happen is that it doesn't work. After you are done post did it work so that i know should i keep searching.Good luck!

Not at the moment, but i know that's not all root manuals are the same(though in most cases you need the debugging if you are rooting over windows/Linux)

hey you only had to downgrad youre device, than root and flash a custom rom.
try it with the kdz update tool (google kdz lg )
but take a different firmware 10.e shoud be ok you can take any version of it.
10e should be ok. i hope i could help you,
No any solution without roms because I heard it may be harmful for the device
I also tried the rooting by DOS and I get
unable to chmod files
and then unable to copy files
Why???
Please I( want solution
What LG stock ROM do you currently have? If it's 10a, then it's one of the hardest to root.
I had 10a, then upgraded to 10d and gingerbreak worked like a charm.
So,I am from India and one of my friend just got a SGS4G from USA.
Now the problem is that its carrier locked and it wont accept our SIM cards.
-So how can I unlock it? Do I need to flash another ROM or is there any unlock patch or anything like that?
An I think the carrier is T-Mobile.
Is there any way to get the unlock codes from T-Mobile?

Thanks.
And which root method shall i use to root it?
Shall I use this method?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025610
And do I have to install Busybox separately (as it is needed for the carrier unlock part)
and is there any other method?

Unlocking bootloader is not dangerous, installing custom kernels might be.

your phone didn't die then, it dies when it won't even vibrate or charge, you just didn't know how to flash a ROM.
Thanks for reply, now I've installed CWM Recovery, then I've to unlock bootloader and then flash the zip file.
I used to have a lot of android mobiles... but no one was so "risky"

Hello,
I rooted my brothers HUAWEI Ascend d1 quad xl and forgot that the warranty no longer acts.
Now, I want to reset the flash counter. How do I do that? I already googled abit about USB-JIGs but it seems they are not compatible to every smartphone, so I have to buy a USB-JIG that lists the d1q in it's compatible list, but I didn't find any...
I also tried TriangleAway, but it didn't work...
If the counter value is saved in any file in the system partition, can a complete reinstallation fix this?
Also the unroot function of the root tool I was using doesn't work, but I'm sure I can fix this by myself.
Please help me
Thanks
PS.: Sorry for my bad english, 1/8 of this text was translated by Google Translator.
