Pretty new to the audio part of this stuff. Is there a way to get Poweramp to play music from exfm? Or am I just totally out to lunch?

They have an app for exfm. Poweramp is to play your locally stored music.

Thanks! I've stored some music from rdio, but I thought that Poweramp would have found it. I guess I'll have to search for it myself.
Ya, I've got the exfm app..... It's really nice!
Like I said, I'm new to all this... Any suggestions on which sites are good for downloading music?

I usually download from Google Play or from Amazon MP3. I use Spotify a lot, so I really don't download a lot since virtually everything is on Spotify.

PowerAmp allows you to choose which folders to scan. I believe it scans all of your storage when it is first run. To get to the settings to select folders while in PowerAmp:
tap the menu key
select settings
scroll down and select folders
A selection window will pop up letting you pick which folders you want PowerAmp to scan.

I just received my Google Music Beta invite. I have a Xoom VZ 3G.
I'm currently in the process of loading all my music. This post is here to answer questions that anyone might have on how it works.
So far I'm pulling the media from a network share, but I might switch it to iTunes once it finishes. The reason for that is I'd like to have the compatibility of sharing playlists, track rating, and play count. I'm only assuming you need to use the iTunes sync feature of the Music Manager to accomplish. I wish it would talk to all apps, but maybe some day.
There is suppose to be a limit on the number of songs you can upload, and when I told it where my collection was it did complain that I had more than 20k tracks. It did however start uploading anyway. Its currently at 120 of 29090.
Its uploading quick, I have Fios, and its doing about 8-10 mbits up.
Also my Xoom and the Nexus S 4G picked up that I've been approved for Google Music Beta.
On the Xoom, it doesn't appear you can access the instant mixes, at least that I can find. Nor does it seem to be syncing playlists that I created online on either the tablet or the phone.
The Xoom has a manual sync, but the phone does not, even refreshing on the xoom doesn't update the playlist.
So far everything that has been uploaded plays well and its smooth, we'll see how the interface is with 20k songs in it.
So, What do you wanna know?
Just got my invite too, have about 20 songs up there and the xoom hasn't got them yet, and the music app fcs on my epic with ee03.
Edit: songs just got here after about twenty minutes...prompted me to allow sync at least...music was there almost instantly after the prompt.

Got my invite today, still uploading (it's been about 45 minutes now). Music hasn't shown up on my Xoom or Droid X.
Did you guys get prompted to sync music after the initial upload was done?

Yes, its a setting under preferences if you want it to always look for new content.
I think they opened the floodgates today. At least, that's what engadget is reporting. Got mine also; I think I might love it...

It's not showing as a setting to sync music on either DX or Xoom.
I have the latest music app on both devices...

gotcha, my uploads are going fine, just wondering why I'm not seeing anything on android yet. Guess I'm just too impatient.
how does it handle duplicate music stored locally on your xoom and uploaded to google music?

It must generate some hash, because it considered the ones I already had on my xoom as downloaded.
My playlists have started syncing, I guess it just took some time for the servers to play catchup, but i'm at about 1946 - 29090 files uploaded.
Must just take time. Let mine finish uploading overnight. Opened music app this morning on the DX and now when I hit the menu button I get a settings option to control synced music. Everything shows up now.

I uploadeed about 11 albums last night. One thing i really hate is the uploading program. Amazon has google beat there big time. The music manager program locks up a lot and tries to re-upload everything. I'm not sure what the lock up is from im sure its not the specs of my netbook causing it cause they are better then some desktops. Heres to hoping google makes a better way to upload.
I can't even sync at all??
I just recently had a prob with the music player on my DS , my DS is unrooted, need help here on what to do, it seems like it doesn't see the mp3s in the memory card, ..thanks in advance !

If you quickly install another 3rd party music app, does that find them? I'd personally recommend PowerAmp. There is a free trial version. That one you can point it at specific folders on your SD card for your music.
If even other music players can't find them, you may have a faulty SD card. Try connection your phone to your PC in mass storage mode. Can you browse the card?
Yup I can view and play music using other apps , and can play music also, I can browse too when in pc mode...I think its just the music app, I like this app, is there any way I could re install the sense music app?

Go Menu, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, hit the 'All' tab, scroll down to your music player and select it.
Hit the Force Stop, then clear cache, then clear data.
Go back to your music player. Has this re found your music now?

i did what you said , but to no avail, i still couldnt find the music files,...i tried soft reset too, didnt work either, when i hooked it up the computer , and viewed my music folder,i saw a small file, that said nomedia...it seemed rather odd, s i deleted it and that worked! i think that file was teleng the app that the folder has no media content, im just curious what made that file and how it got there in the first place?
oh by the way thank you so much for the help!!!! i want to root my phone to someday, but im still not ready for that yet, got to learn more bout android and rooting and modding,...before i do something like that. thanks again and GodBless!!!
Yes, that .nomedia file is the reason.

I feel you. I waited for 5 months to root mine. But, my suggestion : DO IT NOW!
Hahaha, I'm still not there yet, but slowly getting there ! Thanks for the suggestion , I like the original music app , very simple yet it gets the job done, there's a lot of buzz going on with the new OTA update , still no word here from Asia, but I'm not that excited , been reading stuff bout that also, it leaves you with just 150 mb space for apps, I personally think its a shame...

I can't seem to figure out how to turn off mobile websites. I can't stand it I need full websites.
Also is there a way to put an actual fm radio on here so it doesn't use data?

Look up how to change your user agent for the web thing.
Short answer for the FM radio is no.
Sorry.

Open your browser and type in about:debug and hit go.
Then hit the menu button and select "settings".
Scroll down to the bottom where it says "User Agent" and tap that, selecting Android, Desktop, or iPhone.
Still wont work for some websites. Check trigger errors in the debug output for more information.

I may try that but I downloaded opera and set it as default and I actually like it. so may just stick with it.
Skyfire browser also gives you the option to switch between Android (mobile websites) and Desktop (full websites).

Most sites also give you the option to switch to full... You'll usually find that at the bottom.

thats how i usually do it, some sites have that option at the bottom.
i thought i remember somewhere an app maybe that will allow the websites to be viewed in full, but cant remember where.
I know when i tether my laptop to my cell, i use an app that changes from full into mobile view, so it dont use so much data.
good luck.

Depends on the browser. Opera, Dolphin HD browser and Skyfire allow agent switching. On my Opera, with the agent set to Desktop everything is like my laptop............I hate sites in mobile mode !! I used all the above browsers and the latest Opera has stuck with me. Dolphin is also great, but Skyfire is a little iffy for my tastes. Haven't used Firefox too much.
My 2 cents.
EDIT : Oh yeah, I remember why i like Opera..........Adobe Flash rendering in Opera is very good..........I watch entire live sports events with no hiccups.

Sorry, themes and APPS seemed like the right place for discussion of an app.
My response was a bit clipped and rude. I beg your pardon. It appears, though, that you aren't discussing alternative apps or writing a new app. Rather you have a specific problem with a specific app, and you're look for a solution. Looks like Q&A to me. Still, I was a jerk. My apologies.

Yes! Coming from the Droid Charge, this phone takes forever to load new songs. Also, there is a buzzing sound between songs while the song is buffering which I did not have with the Droid Charge. Maybe it's the way the phone processes the audio signal?
I've noticed that the sound is distorted for the first second or two of every new song/commercial. It's strange but doesn't seem to affect my phone's speed...seems just as fast at loading songs as my old Bionic

Apology accepted. And it was a genuine misunderstanding of the purpose for this sub forum on my part.
I had this problem until I rooted and ran adfree and that fixed Pandora for some reason
