[Q] Trouble with ICS upgrade - HTC Inspire 4G

Having an issue when in recovery mode. When I select the recovery option the screen turns black and the a phone appears in the center of the screen with green arrows that form a circle. After a few seconds a red triangle with an exclmation point appears. Any idea what this is and how do I get to the part where I can install the ICS zip file on my sd card?

No ClockworkRecovery

I am rooted and for the life of me, cannot get my gTab to boot into clockworkrecovery. Followed the instructions to the T to install it but cannot boot into it - any ideas?
I actually used the clockworkmod_microsd option to install to my card - how would i access the internal memory to install from there? maybe that's the problem?
So you extracted the zip file to the root of your external MicroSD (SDCARD2) and restarted while holding down the volume up key... and what happened?
In my case, after doing the initial install when I try to boot in recovery, the viewsonic screen comes up (with no recovery text) and then goes to black. When I eventually try to power up again, the tab goes back to the original ROM.
Initial attempts to install cwm and flash here. One of the Wooters who got a Gtab
Look carefully. The screen should be black except for very small text in the upper left corner of the screen. If intensity is down, you might not see it.

Sounds like you're holding the volume down key and ending up in APX mode.

[Q] Garble screen, locked out of recovery

Hey guys.
So I tried to use the GB kernel to install a custom ROM.
I installed stock+Voodoo-T959VKG4-unsigned-update.zip on my T mobile Galaxy S 4G using CWM. I chose to install a zip file from the sdcard, and I chose that file.
When it first booted up, it actually spoke to me with a robot voice "Converting system partition. Estimated time, 2 minutes" while showing garble on the screen. It looks like when a video driver crashes.
Now it just boots up to garble then goes into a boot loop. Holding down volume up + down on boot up boots to a blank screen with soft buttons illuminated. Odin and ADB don't recognize it but it does do mass storage.
Is it a paperweight?

Nexus S - NO Recovery in Fastboot

Hi Guys,
I have a Nexus S and I wanted to get ICS. I flashed the 128 mb ICS image manually through fastboot recovery, however, I wanted to go flash some MODS on the phone again but it's not working.
It's going into fastboot and I can choose what I want from the menu but when I choose Recovery, it shows the Google screen, Flashes the Android with a little "Matrix" ball in front of it and then it freezes at a black screen, with the soft buttons lit up.
Could anyone tell me what happened and if it can be fixed?
PS: When I press VolumeUp+Power at the black screen, it resets! and i have clockworkmod installed..

[Q] Recovery doesn't work and the phone doesn't reboot

Hey, I installed ICS on my Nexus S. After that, the phone doesn't boot (stays at loading screen). When I wanted to go to recovery to issue the problem, it doesn't work.
- I boot the phone with Bootloader option
- Then, I put Recovery option and the phone restarts and the Google logo appears,
but
- After, appears an android logo with a poligon and the screen is going to black for ever (the controls are iluminated).
Can anyoneissue this problem?
Thanks.
P.D: I didn't make any format (dalvik, data, etc) I forgot it.

You're right. It shows an Android Icon in horizontal position with an exclamation on it. What does it mean?

The ADB doesn't recognize my phone. ADB is configured, Drivers are updated. But debuging mode wasn't enabled (is that the problem). Thanks

that is the same thing that popped up for gingerbread recovery, except it it just a different logo/symbol. I had the same problem, you just need to shine an extremely bright light on it, so when the android icon comes up in recovery, do the same as gingerbread. Hold down and just press the power button once and you will then go to your recovery menu and all options are available.
It's a very annoying bug, but it's just the backlight is out.

The icon still there, lying there with an exclamation. After a while the phone just reboot. Any menu appears.

Blank screen and confused

I have a px5 radio packed as kanor. It is a px5(1024x600) running 8.0 with mtce_kld_v3.01_1 and has physical buttons.
It was running ok. I went into factory settings and changed the led color and changed the mapping on one button. It said it needed to reboot. It did and now I just have a blank screen.
I can get into recovery mode. I have tried to flash a new mcu from the 4pda site (also 3.01) as well as an update.zip. one I had went through but when it comes up I still have the black screen. I have tried an update.zip that was rooted but that just fails. I tried creating a boot sd card and upgrading (I think this was in malaysk thread. I have read so many things on this sure and am just starting to confuse myself even more.
Can anyone please help me understand what I need to do to try and get this thing back up. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
I guess I can not post pictures yet but when I updates the box with update.zip this is what it said on the screen
Install /mnt/usb_storage/update.zip

That looks good to me but I still reboot and get no screen. What am I missing?
Hi.
I have a similar problem.
I was updating my radio auto, the original was on android 8.0 and updated to 10.0
so far so good ... then I wanted to update the mcu because it was at v2.80 and put the file on the sd card and clicked on mcu update. the radio restarted and a screen appeared like this:
- a screen with chinese Letters
- a red, a green and a blue bar
- a Version PX5 V1.1
to get out I had to take the card out and press the reset button. now the screen goes black and nothing happens. but if you put the card in and press reset you will return to the screen with Chinese letters ...
the worst thing is that I cannot now enter recovery mode.
I tried using the reset button and nothing .... the only signal that seems to be for recovery mode is to press the power button for 10s, the lights flash, then I let go and charge again but nothing happens ...
Help me, please...
After the lights flash when holding the power button let go then press again right away.
I never get any letters out anything on the screen unless I enter recovery.

If you get recovery button sequence LED flashes, or into recovery, MCU is fine.
No screen, try OTG Android recovery - refer my signature.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just started to read the thread. DO I really still need a jig? Afraid that might be beyond my skill set.
Either way, Thanks.
