Try with Samsung Kies.

[Q] [Need help] Trying to root s3 mini value edition

So I have an s3 mini value edition (Gti8200), I have successfully unlocked my bootloader but can't find a rooted zip file to flash. I've rooted my brothers GTI8190, not sure if I can just backup his phone and recover on mine? (I tried multiple vroot versions but they don't work)
It seems like VRoot 1.7.6.5899 should work for that device. Did you try that exact version?

Are those the official files? I am on XT1644 US version.

Tried to install the appropriate file (Android 7.0 Nougat OTA – ota-Blur_Version.24.31.64-25.11.12.athene.retail.en.US.zip), I got this error:
E3002: Package expects build thumbprint of 7.0/NPJ25.93-11/12:user/release-keys or 6.0.1/MPJ24.139-64/64:user/release-keys; this device has 6.0.1/MPJ24.139-49/49:user/release-keys
Any help?
EDIT: Nevermind, it is simple update issue, I'll follow this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/xt1644-stock-marshmallow-to-nougat-t3540022

Thanks a ton! Should I root it first and then flash to 7.0 or would I need to have 7.0 and then root it? Or should I just avoid 7.0 all together?
Firmware first then root, if you do root first it'll just go away with the Odin flash.
7.0 or not is personal preference
I successfully flashed to 7.0.

Sm-j327p and sm-j327r7

SamMobile has Android 8.1.0 listed for J327R7 but I can't find any info on if it is the same device as J327P (Boost/Sprint) apart from this store (scroll down and go to tech specs) but idk if it's any reliable. It says the same specs as boost (sd425 + all other specs). Someone please confirm or check if this rom will work on the J327P because I'm really getting tired of 6.0.
The J327(P/T/T1) model was supposed to get Android Oreo on September 2018, since it even got certified in the Wi-Fi Alliance with 8.0. Maybe it got cancel or delayed.
All of the J327(V/VPP/R7/R6/R4/U/W/A) version got updated to Android 8.0/8.1.0 to users.

Also don't flash the J327R7 firmware with J327P model it will brick your device.

R7 firmware wont flash on P devices unless you can change the PRODUCT NAME and only service centers have that capability.
