Hi, I've also tried to do so. The problem is that it needs WP 8 GDR2 or GDR3 to be able to use it.. so I need to update first, then use Developer's Preview.. :/

[Completed] Update rooted android [HEEEELP!]

Hi there, how you doing friends? I hope fine.
Well I'm new in this so I'll try not sounds like I'm dumb. Well, last week I rooted my device an Sony Xperia Z2, I was using android 5.1.1 the last version I could update via OTA, well to make the "root" I had to downgrade to kit kat 4.4.2 or something like that, but the sameway my device was rooted I keep receiving updates via OTA, and now I'm currently using Lollipop 5.0.2 and it's still rooted and I loved, my doubt is: The update via OTA appeared again to version 5.1.1 the version I had before I did all that process, if I update from 5.0.2 rooted (my actually version) to 5.1.1 my phone will be "unrooted"?
Thanks and sorry my bad English.
Ash1998 said:
According to me , it shouldnt loss root access but im not 100% sure to be frank....
And in case u take the risk and it does loss root access i think so u can use kingroot to root ur phone back again.

R you using a custom rom or stock rom?

I'm using an Stock Rom, but If I update it and lose my root access, I'll have to downgrade to Kit-Kat again, remake the root and then upgrade to 5.0.2 again, cause i can't find a rom 5.0.2 for my Device, not even here on XDA, i only found kit-kat :/
So, I rather wait till is possible to make root on 5.1.1. but thanks anyway.
Hi!
Here's a thread that should help in your device section,

Hi there will be ota soon for honor 8? Where can you find out when it's going to be released ?
---------- Post added at 12:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:35 PM ----------
Also I just rooted and tried to flash the same nethunter zip that was working in 6.0 Android and 7.0 before rooting but non functional without root. But I will try again now. It looks like there is no nethunter available for nougat?

Yes I will reinstall when the firmware when the ota is released. But do you know when it's released in north America for the L04 model?
Also there is a video on YouTube I used for my rooted p8 lited that you can install nethunter without flashing the zip. I will put it in the next comment, but I only tried to flash it with this ROM. But something strange happened after I flashed it or the xpossed also. After I flashed the nethunter in the beta nougat the phone was bricked but the recovery was reset to the stock huawei one. After I use bootloader to reflash the nougat twrp I didn't wipe anything or the cache even in this whole process. But I flashed first this hw_eu zip or whatever it is, then the update zip. Then j don't wipe the cache or anything and when I start the phone it just starts again like it was just off. But it resets the recovery image again and j have to flash the root again. Idk if this is normal but j thought I'd just mention it since some people are working with this software right now.

I did it exactly like this on huawei p8 lite with android 6.0 rooted and it worked fine. Also I flashed the same zip of the android 6.0 nethunter for Nexus on this honor 8 when on 6.0 android and it worked great.
I remember I did get it to work somehow before on nougat beta for honor 8 but this was before the root method was found so it didnt do much.
I will take a look into this later in the week if there still isn't a clear explanation on here for you by then.
Thanks a lot to everybody!
I tried the vídeo and worked perfectly on honor 8 rooted.

[Help] SM-G955U ATT (Unlocked)

Hi guys, i've been a guest for many years and always i was able to accomplish what i wanted thanks to all the good tutorials and the ROMs that you make and everything, thanks. But, today i'm out of luck and i hope that any of you can help me.
My Galaxy S8+ was on AT&T and i had to change carrier so i unlocked the phone. Right now i'm under MetroPCS but i find that i dont get more updates. I started to search how to get them and got in some threads were i learned to install stock ROMs with ADB but still without success. Actually, my phone right now is with an older version of software.
The android security patch that i had was from July, i have March 1, 2017.
I found the (supposed) OTA files but when i try to install i get error in the installation.
Someone can tell me the right way to make the firmware upgrade?
Android version 7.0 / Samsung experience version 8.1 / Android security patch level March 1, 2017 / Baseband Version G955USQU1AQC9.
I feel like c9 was a mistake or base FW i Also Have A Att S8+ Unlocked i remmember that when i bout it it updated just cant remmember to what but i Flashed The G955u DE Fw and it updates no problem
Maybe this thread can help u get the answer

Yes, this was the solution. I had to pay for a new AT&T prepaid simcard ($10 usd), activate the device online and then change the date a couple of times until i get the August update. Thank you.

You'll gain more than you lose that way and of course no AT&T splash screen.

Last version is AQH3.
Here's the forum on how to do it. Read the unlocked firmware part. Read then do the steps.

Here's the latest firmware make sure it says XAA and AQH3.

Is it possible to root my sm-930v on 6.1 marshmallow?

I rooted my galaxy s5 back in the day and just got the galaxy s7 sm-930V with 6.1 marshmallow.
Is there any way for me to root this? Also is there any way for me to upgrade to 7.0+ nougat? Ive done a few Google searches but have found no clear answer.
Thank you!

Thanks a ton! Should I root it first and then flash to 7.0 or would I need to have 7.0 and then root it? Or should I just avoid 7.0 all together?
Firmware first then root, if you do root first it'll just go away with the Odin flash.
7.0 or not is personal preference
I successfully flashed to 7.0.
That thread doesn't have a link to download the SM-G930 ENG BOOT.
I found this page, https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
Found the correct boot eng for my phone https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...er-samsung-galaxy-s7-sm-t3665821#post73893603
Successfully rooted!
Thanks guys, you werea big help!
