This does not work, I have tried it many many times and no matter what it won't focus. I got it to the point where it says it focuses but it does not. No further discussion.

I don't know what problem you are referring to - I can focus my camera fine - just touch the screen in the area I want to focus and the camera focuses - looks great - am I missing something here? is there some other kind of focusing problem?

Don't take this the wrong way. I don't want to say anything bad about someone's work, but until we know what 'it' is, this thread is of no use. If you were to make a thread with a fix and details in it in the first place, less trolling would occur. I sometimes do have this problem, many others have too, including Google. Google has acknowledged this and fixed it in 4.0.4 along with other things. Team Douche (Cyanogemmod) are waiting for 4.0.4 to add more features to cm like theme chooser and customizations.

I understand. And yea I'll wait. What I did was take the apk from Clean GB rom, compare the two, and I changed stuff accordingly to that. It works, but if the problem still persists in 4.0.4 then I'll post the mod. Oh and taking the apk wasn't all I did. I'm in school and I hacked their website blocking crap, I don't have the time to type the two paragraphs of what I did.

Oh ok I see. Well now I'm getting the idea that it isn't actually focusing... I themed it as well so if you guys want my themed version let me know. But I'll put my hand 3 inches away, it'll say its focusing but its still rather blurry.
So I can either post what I currently have, or you guys can wait for me to figure out why it was broken to begin with and wait for me to 100% fix it, or go the safe way and wait for "team douche" to release 4.0.4
Its up to you guys. I probably shouldn't have posted this until I knew for a fact I could get it up in the same day, or the next day. I'll try my best to hop on my pc and upload it but my dads complaining about how ridiculously priced it is for me to run my computer, so if it isn't today it'll be Sunday. I can try doing it all from my phone tomorrow but chances of that are low.
I'll keep you all updated. Sorry for the troubles. My suggestion is to wait for 4.0.4 but I will upload mine if you want

22ghz isn't cheap . No they actually aren't. He doesn't wanna say it but its because my step mom sits on the couch 10 hours a day with the tv on then goes in her room for bed and watches another 4. THAT'S why the bill is so high. When I stream stuff and leave my computer on its only 2 dollars an hour.

I'm coming over to USCC from Verizon (and my Thunderbolt, which I liked, when I was near a charger) because I changed jobs and Verizon doesn't have service where I work. However, even without service, the Thunderbolt seems to be a better phone than this Mesmerize.
So, is it my phone, or do I need a custom ROM:
Bluetooth sucks - half the time it doesn't connect, sometimes it drops out, it pairs with devices but then won't use them.
Notification sounds are slow and choppy, as are ringtones and alarms
It locks up
Video playback is choppy to the point of being unusable
Now, I LOVE the screen - it's beautiful, and works well. These problems all cropped back up even after a clean wipe. I did use Launcher Pro instead of the samsung launcher, and got rid of live wallpaper. I used a task killer to see if that would help. Nope. Basically, I need to reboot the phone before I make a call. Is it my phone, is there a trick, do I need a custom rom?
I would suggest the Heinz 57 ROM. It includes a voodoo kernel that can be overclocked and undervolted for battery life and performance. I have had great luck with this combo. Aslo, welcome to the mesmerize. With the right ROM/Kernel combo it is an amazing phone.

Frankly, it sounds like you either got a lemon or this is all user error. Because that's an odd rap sheet of issues to be having with a new phone.

If it shipped with 2.2 it's probably normal to have issues, where 2.1 was a way more solid build. Either way, the issues you're reporting aren't common so you could try a custom ROM or a reflash of stock to see if you still have them, if so then you're phone is ****ed

That one never booted for me, and I remember reading that it didnt for some others. The thread was also closed.

I'm sorry bro but im just letting you know now, anywhere you go it's gonna be just the same I switch phones constantly or have more than one and its like it in every forum. Right now i have an infuse, a cappy, an epic 4g, and a g-tablet, and they all have immature posters. As for the person who can't get it booting, i just wiped both data and cache, then flashed. Which recovery are you in?
Hey, all im going to say is that it is already working on the nexus s, but is not fully performance enhanced. http://gadgetu.net/android-ice-cream-sandwich-review-nexus-s/ Just a little bit more hope ha.

im in red recovery and then tried green...still no go
Just looked through all the other galaxy threads...ics. ics. ics is all i saw..what a shame we are lol..

Lol yeah but just sgs4g is cuz samsung made it so different so its hard to make stuff for..plus people complain so devs leave and im sure bh would of been done with that kernel

This thread keeps appearing everyday. If its that important for ics go buy a different phone or donate enough to our devs that they don't have to work and can just build roms all day. How many times does this have to be brought up? You ungrateful people make me sick.

If u read i said that everyone has ics but us and samsung made our phone too good anand everyone keeps complaining..im not complaining

People like you piss me off. You have a opinion and express it as a fact. Posts like yours that are written to incite drama is the reason people get upset and rage on people for arguing.
Instead of trying to pick a fight use that energy to help. Stop being part of the problem and instead be part of the solution.

I am sorry but I don't know what opinion I stated as a fact.
The point is that we have devs spending their free time building roms, tweaks, fixes, themes and everything else under the sun... and all people say is "what about ics?" How many times has this question been answered by devs themselves. I just looked in 5 threads and saw the answer 3 times. Its frustrating that nobody is ever happy with what they have and instead make posts about how we are a disgrace because we don't have ics. If you took time to read and understand there would never be a need for these topics.
Now perhaps I was a bit harsh but its getting ridiculous. My post was not meant to incite drama. It was meant to tell people to be grateful with what they have. In my opinion (not a fact since you can't tell the difference) that is more of a solution to the problem than just answering every thread the exact same way. This entire thread had absolutely no benefit to the community in anyway shape or form.
It's not in the OP but is a few posts down.

That was just asking for somebody to respond. But instead of just posting dang you guys should be grateful for what you have. Not that people make you sick. That just rubs me wrong and IMO you owe the community a apology for that. That was rude crude and unnecessary.
Y'all might want to have one of your devs look into porting a rom from the Vibrant (ics from 2.2 sources) yall have 2.3x sources and drivers which are handled very similarly in 4.x.x. One of your devs would have to make some alterations to existing Vibrant kernels since the GPS and Ramdisk and file directories are a bit different by comparison. Keymapping should be more or less the same and as i understand it yall have figured out how to get CWM running. Basically all yall would need to do is recompile an ICS kernel for yall's device (no easy task) n then use the framework and other files from a vibrant rom. Least that's what we didnt get 2.2.1 and hacked away at a release yall got
This phone is very different from the rest, is T-Mobile exclusive and we just recently got FBI source so of course were behind

Ehhh it is what it is guys. I'm sure you all knew what you'd be getting into before buying this phone. Can't expect much from it when its basically just a Vibrants cousin. Although I do appluad the little devs that have worked hard on this. But I think the same thing is happening to the Amaze. Great phone just like this, but it was just a Sensation cousin. That's why its always best to get the flasgship, and not its slightly bettter predecessor. That's why the SGS2 or 3 is what you should get, as well as the upcoming One X.

I didn't really know this would happen but I'm still greatful for what we have. This was my first android phone and the best option at the time. I had no choice since my phone was broken and I really needed one.
