A simple thank you.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the devs out there who spend countless hours into making great ROMs.
I wanna thank everyone who has ever helped me in past.
I got rid of my Captivate and snagged a iPhone 4, I presume I will be banned after this post. Lol
On a serious note, this place is great and I will continue to troll while I wait for another phone to come out.

This phone is not like the vibrant, don't flash anything that is not for your phone, or it will hard brick, the guys are trying to figure it out, but again do not flash this!

yea i did the other day, and according to robbbbit he has as well a long time ago
however hardbricking is still extremely hard, seems the only way to do it is with sbl's and boot bins

i really like the GB rom but it has sooo many errors :/

I was actually just about to post in the GB rom worth it thread saying how happy I am to have not converted yet :X I'm running bionix overclocked @ 1.3 w/ ext 4, and i wanted to try out the init d tweaks, but have been busy with school lately. I'm excited for GB, but I'd much rather wait till everything is sorted out hahah.

yea its definitely a good idea, and i saw that krylon hopped back on the sgs4g wagon meaning he will help fix the GB rom
the init.d tweaks will definitely make your start up faster

Nice, so glad this is the phone I chose. Coming from a G1 to this phone.. the boot up process seemed quick already hahah.

Thanks to the wonderful devs but I left AT&T and moving on

I wanted to say thank you so much to all the wonderful devs here for all of their efforts making the Captivate a better phone than Samsung could. Please don't flame me, this isn't a knock on the Captivate, I loved the device even with it's flaws. I will miss the Captivate forum, yesterday I jumped to T-Mobile, better rates and they have dual core phones. I got an HTC Sensation and I love it.I will miss my Cappy but I couldn't deal with Samsung's shortfalls any longer, I want a device that works as it should out of the box. I also would like timely updates which AT&T proved they suck at providing. Happy flashing to all and thanks for the wonderful support provided by the community.

You can't blame the hardware for crappy made software from the service provider or user error from bricking. I have never done anything that I couldn't fix and that wasn't my fault...
The fact that you CAN make it better by flashing new software proves that the hardware is adequate. The only thing you could perhaps complain about is gps but if you're that dependent on it maybe you should take some time learning your way around...

I don't know what problem you are referring to - I can focus my camera fine - just touch the screen in the area I want to focus and the camera focuses - looks great - am I missing something here? is there some other kind of focusing problem?

Don't take this the wrong way. I don't want to say anything bad about someone's work, but until we know what 'it' is, this thread is of no use. If you were to make a thread with a fix and details in it in the first place, less trolling would occur. I sometimes do have this problem, many others have too, including Google. Google has acknowledged this and fixed it in 4.0.4 along with other things. Team Douche (Cyanogemmod) are waiting for 4.0.4 to add more features to cm like theme chooser and customizations.

I understand. And yea I'll wait. What I did was take the apk from Clean GB rom, compare the two, and I changed stuff accordingly to that. It works, but if the problem still persists in 4.0.4 then I'll post the mod. Oh and taking the apk wasn't all I did. I'm in school and I hacked their website blocking crap, I don't have the time to type the two paragraphs of what I did.

Oh ok I see. Well now I'm getting the idea that it isn't actually focusing... I themed it as well so if you guys want my themed version let me know. But I'll put my hand 3 inches away, it'll say its focusing but its still rather blurry.
So I can either post what I currently have, or you guys can wait for me to figure out why it was broken to begin with and wait for me to 100% fix it, or go the safe way and wait for "team douche" to release 4.0.4
Its up to you guys. I probably shouldn't have posted this until I knew for a fact I could get it up in the same day, or the next day. I'll try my best to hop on my pc and upload it but my dads complaining about how ridiculously priced it is for me to run my computer, so if it isn't today it'll be Sunday. I can try doing it all from my phone tomorrow but chances of that are low.
I'll keep you all updated. Sorry for the troubles. My suggestion is to wait for 4.0.4 but I will upload mine if you want

22ghz isn't cheap . No they actually aren't. He doesn't wanna say it but its because my step mom sits on the couch 10 hours a day with the tv on then goes in her room for bed and watches another 4. THAT'S why the bill is so high. When I stream stuff and leave my computer on its only 2 dollars an hour.

my opinion.
I completely agree with eollie,
also, it's just more stable. I'm sure you're aware with the GB stability flaws, like flight mode, ril fails at times, still not as fast as wanted.
ICS fixes a lot of those issues, and makes it more stable at bootup.

A lot of the appeal I think is the fact that Samsung denied us ICS. Makes people want it even more lol. Like you, I haven't really gotten what the big deal is but I could've missed something. I'd like to hear some opinions from those who have used both gb and ics and can give us the pros and cons (if there are any).

Yeah its a feature ported to CM7. Each notification in the shade can be swiped away individually.

Isnt it based off cm7? Because its part of CM7, just sayin..

LOL Erik ill think real hard about flashing something you port again LOL...just kidding...that was a pain in the a$$ to recover from.....good experience though,my normal way to flash back to stock would not work so I had to learn another.
OK anyhow...im back on topic lol.

The swipeable notifications is done in the frameworks and systemui which are not used from cm but are something in lewa itself what is used from cm are some libs and bins and of course kernel just saying too
