Please! KEEP WORKING ON YOUR ROMS! Good god, the variety is a GOOD thing, you have the chance to add something unique to the Hero scene, you also stand to learn a lot more about how your phone and Android works. You get to give something back to the community.
Don't let me stifle your ambitions, just be a little more creative on your names please.

It is based off of my screen name, which I first started using on the internet about 11 years ago when the movie came out.

Sorry if you felt that this was directed at you, I was making a generalized statement about these rom's that combine the names of several sources to make a 'new' name. I merely tried to tie in each 2.1 rom currently released in my super uber long name.
Actually I kind of like the name of your rom, since I happen to be a big fan of the movie myself.

No, not until it can be ported from legend, etc.
I wonder when that port will come
Sense is unfortunately not open source and is hardcoded to the Hero's processor. Zenulator is keeping his eye out for similar phones that might get a 2.2 update.

That was mine too until I got the bump to SP (Sprint Premium).
Now I get 12 month upgrades as opposed to 22 months. That's why I'm stuck with the Hero until March, at least. By then, though, we'll probably know about some awesome stuff coming out in May or June that I'll just have to wait for.
This is why I still want a Froyo port for us on the Hero even though I've pretty much given up hope to it happening. Even as it stands, though, I can't see the Hero falling too far behind in the meantime, especially with all the great stuff ZEN and the other devs are still working out for us. I mean, considering all the crappy Android phones on the market right now I'd say we're in pretty good shape for having such "old" technology. My brother is stuck with a Behold II until March 2012. I say I win

I really hope the G2X Vanilla ROM does not have the same lags as the optimized O2X ROM from MoDaCo.
Well, MoDaCo Rom is much much better than original. But just try to add a widget - Why the hell does it take so long to show the whole list...? On my Desire it appears immediately...

Its definitely a ROM problem,
In the past T-Mobile's ROM's have been decent, very lightweight and fast, and i would expect nothing less this time.
I still think the G2 ROM is one of the best Froyo ROM's out there

I'd love to know if the G2X firmware can be run on the regular 2X. The thought of running the LG firmware isn't all that appealing

and yeah the roms should be able to port over smooth... (kinda like the captivate/vibrant roms port)

Am hoping the ROMs will be fully interchangeable between the devices.
Otherwise, I may stay with the stock ROM for awhile - of course, after rooting, flashing recovery, and freezing unwanted apps with titanium. And maybe an overclock kernel (if compatible).
Since it should be an open device, I don't think it will be long before XDA ports a 2.3 ROM for it.

Yeah, traded my HD in for a Nexus S, Then sold my Nexus S due to lack of Dev...
Now I'm getting the G2X sent over from the USA for me, so will be hanging with you guys for the next 8 months until my next contract upgrade Thought it would be a great option as Paul OB has a O2X and Cyanogen is getting the G2X, so when you have that combination you know the **** is gonna hit the fan

I see a couple people but where are all the roms? google even released 2.3.4 source but I haven't seen the explosion of developement for this phone yet. despite a few issues this phone is one badass phone. after i got one without screen bleed and really sunk into it this phone is better that any android i've ever used and has features the Samsung Galaxy S 2 won't have such as nvidia tegra 2 which in my opinion is a much more solid piece of hardware and a much more well known company than the one on the SGS 2. and Smartshare, Ultra dolby digital mobile!!! this phone is the ****! plus i heard bionix was coming to this phone via team whiskey! I see faux released a rom and he doesn't even have the phone! we have a good start but....
Where are the devs!!!??? please we need you people. you guys make phones these expensive things worth purchasing for the insane amounts of money they cost. oh mighty development lords, please develope!

Totally disagree, maybe for someone with some flashing experience yes, but for noobs it would be a total mess, flashing o2x roms on g2x phones... not to mention wrong kernels, maybe even radios...not a nice thought..

+1 would be a disaster.
I agree development is slower than I'd expected..
I was gonna make a ROM, but the stock ROM with Titanium Backup is best for me. If you build AOSP you lose the awesome Camera app that LG wrote and you lose all the cool apps that come with the G2x.
For me I just uninstall the apppack app and freeze the wifi calling app and I'm good to go.
I tried the GB build and it had GPS issues and didn't have the nice camera app.
So I'm happy with the stock setup with a few tweaks.

The Vibrant has been out for 10 months. The G2x has been out for barely 2.
Development will come.. It takes some time though. Not every Android dev has the cash to buy a new phone every time one comes out.

It would help if anyone could build a kernel from the lg source that didn't break wifi and bt. All attempts have failed.....

I don't remember really seeing any major development for the Vibrant until after 2 Months!
And we already have a. 2.3.3 and a 2.3.4 Rom out!

i agree. guess i feel spoiled from all the vibrant support. i figured this phone would explode fast in dev. since we had root so fast and dual core, plus being a google phone. hopefully t-mobile gets off their ass and releases the official gingerbread like they promised before i purchased my phone (which was the ONLY reason i even was ok with purchasing an android 2.2 again). maybe that'll fix the problem ttabbal was talking about with the kernels.

Hello guys, Just testing out a new rom.
It is made off 4 Kornerz ROM from Diablo67. It is call 4KMods, It is running original kernal but is compatible with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570308 which is the underworld Sense Kernal.
Edit:The release of the 4KCM7 ROM is here only because it is going to be the "Light Weight" edition, CM7 itself is not fully functional as of this post, but will be my main priority for initializing the same Webtop experience from the Atrix/Atrix2/Razr/etc..
^^Also, the 4 Kornerz ROM base I am working will be more of the "Working Class, get it done right" ROM, meaning everything works 4G video etc..

Just put CM7 into my Kitchen, and I will also be doing work on that, CM7 will be easier to do the built in ubuntu with as it is just pretty much a base, BUT I'll do minimal mods as far as CM7 goes.

The problem is IDK what to use as far as scripts, where would I get a script that will download AND install ubuntu for you, Like an all-in-one script to do it and then include a terminal app to run it?

I would love to help, but sadly I know close to nothing about development. Would there be an issue with having terminal pre-installed, and then have the script within the ROM, and have the command to activate the script in the OP?

There would be no issues with that at all. In fact there is a rom like that for the HTC thunderbolt, but I have no idea how to port..
Why no ICS love? Whole lotta Gingerbread baking going on, not enough Ice Cream licking...don't be scurred! You wanna do something special, use ICS as a base and get creative!

I am not using ICS because it is still unstable for our device we are working on.
I will be using CM7 as the end product but I'll still be working on 4 Kornerz because to be honest I am loving the 4 corners he has put in the launcher.

How about 4Korners ICS! That would be tight! Have you flashed any ICS recently? The only thing not working is video recording, FFC, and 4G. Really unless you are a narcissistic a-hole how often do you really use it? If more people devved for Android 4.0 maybe these issues could be solved to...that's all I'm saying...We are 6 months into having ICS for our Evos and still dont have a fully functional complete ICS rom , its time to quit piddling with Gingerbread and move on....how many Sense 1.0 roms do we really need with a new launcher or rosies and mods...its like beating a dead horse...two guys can't be expected to do it all[Drew and Deck]
No offense Sandix, but its just more of the same...these threads are gonna die real soon...everybody that got Evos on launch day will be moving on in a couple months when they get their upgrade...just would like to see devs take on the challenge of ICS and give us the latest and greatest...no Froyo rom will ever be better than Myns or Magnus', no Gingerbread rom will ever be better than Synergy or CM7, what's next? Our biggest promise seems to be porting other phones ICS to our phones a la CM9 and Gummyworms...I would maybe focus on bringing the Evo something special and new if you are going to spend time devving for it.

The whole point for my ROM is to bring something new and sexy to the evo e.g. Webtop.
I just need people to shoot me ideas and I'll make it happen. Somehow..

No offense Sandix, but its just more of the same...these threads are gonna die real soon...everybody that got Evos on launch day will be moving on in a couple months when they get their upgrade...just would like to see devs take on the challenge of ICS and give us the latest and greatest...no Froyo rom will ever be better than Myns or Magnus', no Gingerbread rom will ever be better than Synergy or CM7, what's next? For one thing brother,1.0 is the most stable right now,thats why we recreate it soo much,everything works.Yea everyone wants something new,but look at the roms you mentioned,like CM7 and Synergy,none of those are fully functional,this video dont work,that 4g is borked,theres only soo much you can do with something thats not made for our devices yet,so everyone always comes back to mr.dependable,thats 1.0.At least Sandix is doing something he likes,maybe he doesnt like ICS or Bliss,or maybe hes just learning and Sense 1.0 is the easiest to learn from,he asked me if he could use the design to work with,so i told him yes,because hes wanting to learn,i like to help people that want to help themselves.
Gingerbread would be good for me. Wish y'all luck ... oh yea why don't y'all bring liquidrush ,liquidE or liquid metal rom back to life. Using a gingerbread rom as base. ??

I am new at this cooking roms and such so if you give me time, I will do my best to bring them back.

To everyone,
I will be moving downloads to mediafire, I'll zip up the 4kmodkornerz rom and upload there (200mb limit for free users..)
Also, if anyone would like to donate so I may purchase a premium account there (downloads are decent from mediafire) and its pretty cheap or if someone could host them on their own website or something I'd be very thankful.
bimmerman7 I can only speak for myself. I have tried a few ICS roms and while nice none are as fast as GB on my EVO and I have children and do use my camera and video recording quite a bit and it has nothing to do with being narcissistic it has to so with having videos to show the kids grandmothers and being able to talk face to face with a child who is away in school. I would like a fully working ICS but I bought the phone to use and I do. I personally appreciate both types of ROMS and their developers but at the end of the day there are things I need to do and the guys that are pumping out stable fully working ROMS have my gratitude the most.
