Can I make simi folder widget faster? - HTC Sensation

I've got Simi folder widget on my phone, and I'm happy with it, except for one issue. There's a noticeable delay from pressing the folder to it actually opening. I understand why it's doing this since it's loading all the app icons to display them, but is there a way of it caching them instead so it could just pop up the instant I press on the folder?

Does anyone know? Or can anyone suggest a better folder widget that doesn't have a delay in opening?

Get ics, the integrated folders are awesome. Much better than any widget

I'm using ics already. No folders though since I'm not using sense launcher.

Launcher pro beta in the Market.

There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.
UPDATE: Dev updated the home button to have the option of going to default screen or to the leap view. Also has auto rotation wich is something sense does not allow.

Its definitely intetesting, I just don't know how long I could deal with missing things like the friendstream widget.
That being said, I really like the app drawer. Its very awesome!

Exactly! Gotta have the sense widgets. I use for HelixLauncher 2 for about 5min then I have to switch back to sense.
You can pull from your app drawer the friendstream app, that's really all I miss, the sense widgets look great but are too big for my liking. If you use beautiful widgets from their clock you can set shortcuts to, calender, clock alarm, and weather.

i downloaded launcherpro. i only have 3 screens, unlink with sense when i have like 5 or something. also i have no idea what this app drawer, maybe its the menu button thing that opens all your apps, but if it is its the same thing as sense except cool animation.
also side note, im using chompsms widget, i saw some pics of someone using it and it had pic of the person in the widget, do i need to donate to get that or what?
It has three by default. Hit the menu button then preferences you can have up to seven screens.

Found it, downloaded it, used it, deleted it.
If I diddnt have sense, I'd be all over this. But for me, it just seems a little redundant. I personally, prefer the real thing.

[Q] live folders app?

is it possible to have folders on your homescreen like the iphone does? instead of having a plain boring folder icon, can we have an icon that shows all the icons inside of the folder?
I use Apps Organizer. Doesn't do exactly what u want, but does provide u with the ability to select ur own icon. Perhaps look into Folder Organizer. Seems like I have seen a screenshot showing what u r describing. Both of these apps are available in the market.

yeah just got folder orginizer, does pretty good
Try with SIMI Folder its great
Go launcher has this feature in app drawer though, not sure if this feature is available in homescreen...

[Q] App Drawer Hierarchy

Alright just wondering if there is a way out there to organize the app drawer a bit.
So far, I have tried ADW launcher, and made custom catalogs, so 1 page for games, 1 page for settings and stuff, 1 page for media... and so on, but I would rather ditch the page setup for something more like folders.
Yeah, I understand that it could add extra clicks to getting to the apps, I think it would speed it it if I could view by function and not search through a full drawer.
Open the app drawer, and see folders called "games","Media","Settings"... and so on. Just kinda wondering if anyone has seen such an app or way to do it.
Hmm yeah I know what you mean. I usually use LauncherPro and tried ADW but none really have management within the drawer other than what you just said.
Go Launcher is your answer. It's almost like ADW has all the features that LP and ADW have, but you can actually create folders within the drawer, which is pretty neat.
You can add folders to your home screens then drag apps and such into them. You can rename the folder by opening it and pressing the word "folder."

yes, while this does work, I prefer to keep home screens open for widgets, and Icons in the app drawer. Thanks for the tip tho.

[Q] Launch folder from Launcher pro dock?

hey guys, im setting up a simplistic theme of sorts on my inspire 4g. and i have a few questions.(Sorry if theyre a bit noob)
I like to keep one folder of my most commonly used apps on the homescreen. Im looking for a way to launch said folder from the dock in launcher pro. I think i should be able to do this by setting an activity, but cant seem to find the right one.
Does anyone know how to do this? If not can anyone recomend a folder application that allows for custom icons? or even a way to launch a folder from extended controls?
also, are there any better/more simplistic widgets styles for pandora?
and one more, i like being able to see mobile and wifi signal strength through elixer, is there anything that does this in a black icon style?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So I took a shortcut on this, the app simi folder allows a folder to be added to the launcher pro dock, works for me

Replacement app drawer (not launcher)

Hi.
Does anyone know an app drawer replacement app, that can run with your favourite launcher. I want to stick with Sense, yet be able to use a better app drawer that has more features such as folder organizing, etc. I know that the actual drawer that's launched from the Sense drawer button can't be modified, but I'm looking for an app that is launched seperately and offers similar functionality.
I don't think that is possible, sorry.
Folder organizer or app organizer. I use folder organizer myself. I have my middle button launch the main menu fo shortcut and it shows a nice popup of my labels ie folders. You basically assign labels to your apps and the labels show up like folders.

See my thread, I'm looking for the same thing

What is it that you want to do that folder organizer doesn't provide? It has options to display the items as a list or grid. You can have different sort options even within each folder, etc. You can change the background, folder icon, border color.

Well, do you know any good folder organizers? I was hoping for an organizer with a similar appearance to that of the drawer.
Try
1. Vlauncher
2. Maybe organised my files
3. Maybe group home
quickdesk beta!
The new Sense 2.1 will have a slightly better app drawer - no folders to my knowledge though
http://www.appbrain.com/app/swipepad-beta/mobi.conduction.swipepad.android
It has a tab with all apps on it. I think it's pretty horrid, but some people swear by it.
AppFolders. It's in the Marketplace (and its cooked into a few Sense ROM's, such as Magnolia 1.3.2).
Try eyelauncher. That is what you look for.
You can try Advance App Drawer Demo: tag and grid supported.
