[Q] Launch folder from Launcher pro dock? - HTC Inspire 4G

hey guys, im setting up a simplistic theme of sorts on my inspire 4g. and i have a few questions.(Sorry if theyre a bit noob)
I like to keep one folder of my most commonly used apps on the homescreen. Im looking for a way to launch said folder from the dock in launcher pro. I think i should be able to do this by setting an activity, but cant seem to find the right one.
Does anyone know how to do this? If not can anyone recomend a folder application that allows for custom icons? or even a way to launch a folder from extended controls?
also, are there any better/more simplistic widgets styles for pandora?
and one more, i like being able to see mobile and wifi signal strength through elixer, is there anything that does this in a black icon style?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I took a shortcut on this, the app simi folder allows a folder to be added to the launcher pro dock, works for me

Change Folders Icons on Home Screen

Hi guys,
I've been trying to find out how to do this without using an app like BetterCut or something like it.
I like the simplicity of the folders icons on my home screen, but I want to change the plain manila folders. Is there a way I can find some icons and push them to the phone. The last thing I want is another app to do this for me. I rooted my phone so I didn't have to use apps to customize. I know apps like Folder Organizer can do something similar, but this is not what I'm talking about. Every thread I've searched and read through doesn't seem to get it.
Any help or direction would be much appreciated.
Also, I'm running LauncherPro.
I would like to find out how to do this without an app. Does anyone have instructions on how to manually change icons and folder looks on home screen and in app drawer?

[Q] customizations

I've done my research can't find the answer. I like how you can use custom icons with launcher pro. I like the text look for icons. I dont like the launcher pro setup. I like how the original 7 screens are set up with 2.2 ota. Using launcher pro you can't get the widgets like on the original screens. I have each page set up the way i like and have found no way to do it using lp.
I would like to know if there is a way to replace the icons with the text in the original 2.2 ota. Is there an icon changer program that allows this?
How do you make custom icons?
All help appreciated. Thanks, Eric
I've used ADW and launcher pro both and they both have a custom shortcut option. I used it to change my messaging icon recently.

The best quick and easy way is adw, better home, LP etc. other than that. Pull every apk from your phone and edit its icon and push back.

I use the custom short cut option works great for my needs.
Its much easier to use something like LauncherPro. Its a great app and is completely customizable.
If you go with the LauncherPro method... check out the customizations and icons and what not here

Quick question

Really quick could someone tell me what I need to change icons on the home screen not the dock.
Thanks in advance.

Unpack the APK in question, replace the icon PNG, resign, install. -- Don't forget to uninstall the old.
You could also install a custom launcher and use a custom icon. -- Far easier.
Find a aftermarket launcher. Launcher pro, adw, are a couple of the good ones. Once you have these search the market for launcher themes. Most of these themes contain icon packs. Hope that points you in the right direction.

I already am using launcher pro but I haunt really been able to fine themes for it. I've seen a lot for adw but I really enjoy launcher pro.

Then change the shortcut icon. Make a custom shortcut and change the icon.

Launcher pro style icons

So, I've been searching all over xda to no avail, so I'm throwing this thread up to see if by chance anybody knows where to find what I'm looking for.
When I had my captivate, I ran setup for a while that was basically all black, and I used an icon pack that I found that was basically a ton of icons in the style of the launcher pro icons. I'm talking about the basic, frosted glass, very minimalistic style icons that launcher pro uses in their dock. However, it was a huge icon pack that had icons for many market applications. The icon set was also compatible with desktop visualizer.
Anybody know where I can find these?

[Q] Change icons?

Hello all,
New Galaxy S2 user here. Coming from a line of exclusively HTC Sense phones and ROMs.
I'm wondering if it's possible (and easy) to change the icons for default apps in CM9 or TW based ROMs? Specifically the "Messaging" icon - I hate the "smiley" face. Makes me feel 12 years old again.
I've done a few searches, but I'm not looking to replace the entire icon set or the ROM or theme... just one icon.

The hard way is to download the apk, open it up, replace the images with the ones you want, repackage it, and reinstall it. The easy way is to use a launcher that allows you to change the icon. I know Apex and Nova do, not sure about any others.

Also check out "Desktop Visualizer" in the market .
But as already mentioned ....the different launchers are the best & easiest way.
Holo launcher is another one.
Good Luck.

Go Launcher as well. Go, Nova, and Apex have the ability to use icon sets made for each other.
Hmmm... going to an entirely different launcher seems like overkill, but I guess if it works...
There used to be apps on the Market that would allow you to create shortcuts with different icons (BetterCut comes to mind, but the dev pulled it from the Market entirely).
If you don't want a new launcher, try Desktop Visualizer (though I have yet to figure out how to get it to use an existing icon pack). There are a lot of options in it and it's a great program.
