Change Folders Icons on Home Screen - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Hi guys,
I've been trying to find out how to do this without using an app like BetterCut or something like it.
I like the simplicity of the folders icons on my home screen, but I want to change the plain manila folders. Is there a way I can find some icons and push them to the phone. The last thing I want is another app to do this for me. I rooted my phone so I didn't have to use apps to customize. I know apps like Folder Organizer can do something similar, but this is not what I'm talking about. Every thread I've searched and read through doesn't seem to get it.
Any help or direction would be much appreciated.
Also, I'm running LauncherPro.

I would like to find out how to do this without an app. Does anyone have instructions on how to manually change icons and folder looks on home screen and in app drawer?

[Q] Change Icons in App Drawer?

Is it possible to change the icons within the App Drawer? I figured out you could just edit each .apk file when rooted, but I don't know for sure how to do that. And maybe there is just an easier method with a ROM. If the MIUI ROM would have that kind of option it would be awesome!
Also, Go Launcher EX (and probably more launchers) is capable of putting apps into folders in the app drawer. The icon of the folder is then a kind of preview of the apps within it. That is not really that bad, but it would be nice to be able to change the Go Launcher EX folder icons as well. Since there is no .apk file for the folder to change it with, I can't think of a way to do that.
In short, what I want is this: being able to create folders in the app drawer and change all icons (and also remove text beneath the icons) in the app drawer, including the folder icon.
I know, I am a nitpick, but I just want it all to match .
To change the icons in the app drawer you need to edit each and every apk file and change the innate icon therein.

Click to collapse
Ok, so no easy way?
And about my other questions? I know it is possible to create folders in the app drawer with Go Launcher EX, but what you see isn't really an icon, it is a preview of the apps within it. And I suppose I can't change that, but it would be nice.
Or if there is another launcher/rom that can create folder in the app drawer (and then change the icon of that folder), that's OK too.

[Q] Launch folder from Launcher pro dock?

hey guys, im setting up a simplistic theme of sorts on my inspire 4g. and i have a few questions.(Sorry if theyre a bit noob)
I like to keep one folder of my most commonly used apps on the homescreen. Im looking for a way to launch said folder from the dock in launcher pro. I think i should be able to do this by setting an activity, but cant seem to find the right one.
Does anyone know how to do this? If not can anyone recomend a folder application that allows for custom icons? or even a way to launch a folder from extended controls?
also, are there any better/more simplistic widgets styles for pandora?
and one more, i like being able to see mobile and wifi signal strength through elixer, is there anything that does this in a black icon style?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So I took a shortcut on this, the app simi folder allows a folder to be added to the launcher pro dock, works for me

[Q] changing backround when switching launchers

so i searched around a bit but didnt find anything useful
i would like to know if it is possible to keep a backround specific to a launcher, and have the backround change to that image whenever i switch to that launcher.
i want to create something of a different home experience, one which would use icons(or images) to launch another launcher, sort of like sub-launchers, basically have the main launcher with icons to media, tools, social, etc, and have each icon open to another launcher that is set up for its specific purpose. the biggest flaw with this is the backround alwasy stays the same when switching launchers,
so is it possible to force a backround change specific to each launcher installed on the phone?
Been trying LauncherSwitcher the past few days. Your idea sounds something akin to what that does.
Maybe include a script that can invoke the different backgrounds?
Well, changing the launcher is the easy part, this can be done via launcherswitcher, or home switcher, or in the way I want to use it, using an activity shortcut with custom icon(launcher pro, better cut, etc.)
The background is the real issue, I would love to include a script to invoke a backround change, but really have no idea how to do that.

[Q] Resizing dock icons

Is this possible? I searched and the only thing I really came across was that supposedly you can using ADW launcher. I'd rather not. Apex for me.
To my understanding you could always extract the image files from the apps u want smaller Icons for, shrink the in Photoshop or a program like it, put it in your gallery or whatever then change the icon of the app with apex...done this several times just with simple text icons rather than shrinking stock icons

Change lockscreen icons, not apps! the icons.

Im being a bit fussy now, but thought why not ask. Ive got my homescreen how i want it now, but the icons havent changed when im on the lockscreen. How would i go about doing this..
If you mean to keep the same apps that have shortcuts on your lockscreen but change their icons, I don't believe there is a way unless you find the actual icon pictures and replace them with new ones manually.
Find the image files for the lock screen and copy the ones from your desktop. That is I am assuming you mean the same apps have different icons from the desktop to the lock screen.
