Similar problem here
I have a similar problem. The widget is not refreshed on a new day. However, I noticed that at about 8AM it will refreshed to the new day.
This is really an annoying issue...
In the past I was using the daily/weekly view and didn't notice this strange behavior. Did you tried to contact HTC support?

Is this not like the month widget where you just leave it for a few seconds and out works?
I tried to avoid using HTC widgets when I was on stock as they are slow...

[Q] Widget Issues? (Disappearance)

Ive been using the tasks widget from HTC and got a notification that there was an update for it through the htc hub. When I went to the hub to update it, it would not download and install the update correctly. It would say its installing when it was at only 56%?? Or sometimes even less then that and then the download would just disappear. So I thought maybe i should uninstall and reinstall the widget. Once I did it has never been able to fully download and install again. What should I do? And ive tried other task widgets on the android market and nothing else really looks as good or is over complicated for something so simple.
HTC Sense is crap. It tells me updates are available for widgets, yet won't let me update them. It also won't let me download any new ones. My Friends stream no longer auto updates. It has never properly synced my contacts. There is usually one or two missing or a pic is wrong for one or two.

[Q] sense agenda widget

I am new to sense coming from a nexus one. I have noticed that the sense agenda calendar widget refreshes way too much. Every other time I swipe to the screen with the widget it says "loading" and takes a few super annoying seconds to load.
Is there an update setting somewhere or should I just go back to Pure Calendar Widget?
I haven't this problem. When i swype to the widget, my agenda appeare immediately, but i don't have a lot of task to sync...
I do have quite a few tasks and calendars synched but even still it shouldn't be updating this often. In pure calendar widget I rarely see it refresh.
I love the look of the sense agenda widget so hoping to get it to work properly.
I am also seeing "loading" much more than I would like. It always happens to me on Sense devices. Might be the number of cals I sync.
I do not have many tasks (approximately 4/mo.) and it has to load very often...almost every time I go through all the home screens.
Yeah it doesn't seem to be an issue of how many entries, rather how often it refreshes. Anyone know if there is a good way to report this to htc ?
Might have fixed it.... go to HTC Hub, settings menu.... accounts and sync... remove the check from update when opened

I haven't even created an HTC sense or hub account so can it really be controlled from there for me?
My "fix" didnt even work for me, so Im still working on it.

I have the same issue - quite annoying...
For the people having this problem....
Do you have Facebook for HTC Sense enabled?
What calendars do you have enabled?
Autosync on?
HTC Hub account logged in?

Been doing more research.... seems like it doesnt matter if you have
facebook for sense logged in, as I dont for days and still see this problem,
autosync on or off, no matter.
multiple calendars, or even no calendar at all, or even just "PC Sync" calendar with no events...
Seems like it polls right after switching from wifi to 4g and vice versa...?
Really not making any sense, and I really have no clue as to who to even email to bring this issue up.

It seems to poll also when I unlock my phone after leaving it alone for sometime or occasionally, when I quit an app after using it.
What if we can get our hands on a Calendar Agenda Widget apk from Sense 2.5 or 2.0 and try to install it?
I have the same problem with the agenda reloading.
I want htc agnda widget that showed profile photos next to the appointment or birthday that was taken from facebook.
I had that widget on a rom i tried on my HD2.
But most important. Make it work without the waiting time to show the appointments.

That.
Android user from day1, new to Sense and it drives me nuts. Very much used to LP pro and never had that problem.
Fix it! (shakes fist @ htc)
No dice on getting another HTC Calendar widget from older version, the thing will not allow an install.... guess we need to wait for root.... :/

Widgets Problem

Hi Guys
I am facing a problem with HTC widgets. The problem is that the widgets keep reloading their content frequently
So as i flip through the 5 pages of widgets (mail, people, calendar, news, etc), the contacts in the people widget or the appointments in the calendar widget for example would disappear and the widget would reload them within 5 seconds
I never faced this problem with my desire HD, I dont know but it looks like a memory shortage/allocation problem that is leading to sense clearing whats held in RAM for those widgets.
Has anyone faced this before ? looks like sense 3.0 is still highly unoptimized from a memory usage perspective. On top of this, my desire HD used to fly as compared to the Sensation, Dual core my Ass.................
This happens for me as well but I never considered it a problem. It seems to me that the widgets actually don't update all the time and instead are updating On-demand so the first time you scroll to it in, an __- hour period (I'm not sure how long the time frame is) it takes a few seconds to populate the widget.
I figured it was a battery saver and didn't don't mind it.
I do get a weird text jump back and forth between contact name/contact number in the text messaging widget though and it happens pretty frequently.
not update

Hi BonesRed
does not seem to be an update problem, since not only the friend stream widget does that, but also the contacts/calendar widget
This never happened with the desire HD, and whenever data is being reloaded, the old data is kept displayed until updated with the new data
Apparently the native widgets work good for me, but other ones like pandora, soundhound etc. have pixel glitches, see pic, sometimes only 1 widget sometimes the whole screen.... don't know if anybody else has the same problem and don't know if I should exchange my sensation.
I have the same pixel problem with my Google search bar widget
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
My widget content will reload but only after a considerable amount of time without use. After the initial load, flipping through pages has no reloads until it's been in my pocket for awhile again.

same for me
so, anybody has a solution or we're doomed?!?!?
Doomed.................................
that sucks, mean while the commercial goes on and on- the YOU phone"CAN GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT INSTANTLY"........ like what? if I'm not able to see my home screen...... hopefully an OTA will bring happiness and unlocked bootloader..... don't want to change too much on it, just tweak a little and get rid of bloatware..... HOPES UP HTC!!!

I'm actually having the opposite provlem, at least with the friendstream widget. I can't get it to update. I've tried manually synching from the widget and from android settings menu but nothing seems to work, its still stuck on July 18th for some reason. Any one have any suggestions?

My widgets are causing pixil glitches as well. Any ideas on what the cause is

I experience the same thing. Also inside the messaging app itself sometimes the contact name is displayed and sometimes the contact number.
I have all the issues stated in the thread do far too. I love this phone but it's not as fast as they promote it to be and the pixel glitches only happen on my google search bar and market widget. hopefully they will get it figured out.

[Q] Annoying Calender Bug with Sensation?

When using the calendar in sensation, when you say click on the day 20/10/11 and side swipe to the 21/10/11 and add an appointment it defaults to the 20/10/11 and not the day you are viewing.
This is incredibly annoying and was not present in previous editions of the calendar in sense ie Desire HD or Desire Z froyo or gingerbread.
HTC say this is a feature and not a bug. It does not make "sense" to go into a day make an appointment then come back out of that day and then go into the next day and so on. When previously you could just swipe left or right and add an appointment on the new day.
Also when selecting the date from the scroll wheels the day would be nice to show like in previous editions of sense. I am thrilled with my sensation but these niggles annoy me and its frustrating using the calender for work.
Does anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a fix? I have used the search feature and not found anyone else with the issue.

Calender widget results in Sense FC

So, I´ve been having the S for almost a week now.
I have the fullscreen calender list widget on a homescreen. And so far everything ran as it should. But yesterday Sense crashed while I was scrolling to that screen.
And since then I seem not be able to get it running as it was before.
Here is what I tried:
- Reboot (of course)
- Remove and add the widget again
- Remove the widget and place it on another homescreen
But the only thing that seems to be working is not showing all used calenders.
So, I suppose it might have somehting to do with the amount of entries in those calenders. Maybe too many or something.
Anyone else has that problem or know a solution?
I've had that in the beginning.
I'm now with the HTC for ~3 weeks and am connected to exchange, Facebook & Google calendars.
I didn't do anything to overcome this so it might be related to some kind of a "broken" meeting in one of those.
Try choosing only one at a time and then scroll and see if it works. if it does continue to add one by one to narrow the problematic one.
Sorry, forgot to mention that.
I can view every single one without any problem.
But when I view all of them together, Sense FCs.
Right now I am viewing all calenders but the weeknumber one.
Just to make things clear for me:
I'm using the agenda widget of there sense, is it the same with you?
Have you tried the Android one vs. The sense one?

the calendar widget is buggy.
I don't use it anymore since it makes my device to freeze.
I guess we need to wait for an upgrade from htc.
Try resizing it. When it crashes go back to screen that contains widget and quickly put finger on it as though you are going to delete widget. You should now get arrows allowing you to resize. Make the widget smaller. If it is then stable, resize back to full screen again.

but again, I used to have it too, but now it's gone, so I suspect it's related to a broken entry in the calendar and not necessarily the application itself.

Holy cow! That really did work!
Well, at least it´s not instantly FCing. So, let´s see if the problem will come back.
Thank you very much.
Yeah the calendar widget is buggy for me also. Resizing did not helped. I ended up using ICS calendar widget..
Happened to me on day one. You can remove the screen in the helicopter mode and then just readd it again.
HTC should really release an update.

Until there is an update available you might use Business Calendar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netgenius.bizcal
I installed the update today, Software numer 1.78.401.2 and so far it seems the issue has been resolved. Haven't tested it for very long yet, but previously it would crash within one minute. I'll report back after at least a full day of use.
Update: The calendar widget hasn't crashed once since I installed the update so I can confirm the issue has been fixed.
