Hi guys! I am new here. I had flashed my galaxy mini to gingerbread 2.3.6 and also rooted it a week ago. My baseband version is S5570XWKT2 and I cannot find a custom kernel version to overclock. Can I use another Baseband version (that is available on this forum) or it strictly has to match S5570XWKT2?......
Why even bother overclocking that? I had the mini and it was quite speedy... But not worth of messing around much

Hi
I Have already installed SetCpu and I still cannot overclock.
It just reads 600MHz .....which is the native clockspeed of this device.
Is overclocking worth it? I mean doesnt it drain the battery faster?

Hi Australize,
I honestly do not understand what a baseband switcher is.

In order to overclock your mini you could flash a complete custom rom or have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485122
if you prefere stock rom
Could you reupload all of the links? Your dropbox links are dead. Thanks mate. GJ
Overclocking does drain your battery, dont know on other devices, but on huawei if i overclock from 800mhz to 1ghz, ultimate drain

I bought a Samsung galaxy 3 , here in spain. How can I do a overclock? and if it is posible. What the max. overclock posible to this phone?.
and the last question! xD. Why change the kernel on a android phone is better than the nomal kernel? thanks. (sorry for my bad english and for my ignorance about android)
As far as i know you cant overclock it. You can underclock it though. If there is a way to overclock it i'd be interested too.
Somewhere I read that Samsung Galaxy kernel doesn't support over clocking.
So I think if one replaces the kernel it is very much possible.
I could upgrade to froyo but couldn't find any way to overclock.

Yeah, some of the devs need to enable the overclocking of CPU in the kernel itself.... Customised for us !! :/
Hi,
I'm kinda new to all this rooting and custom roms. But I found this forum very helpful.
I've got a Samsung S3 (GT-I5800). Rooted it and installed Kyrillos v5.6 on it.
Then I installed SetCPU.
The change log for Kyrillos v5.6 states it should run at 1300Mhz. But I can't set it any higher then 667Mhz with SetCPU.
I tried searching this forum but didn't found a solution. I'm probably searching with the wrong keywords
So can any of you guys/girls point me in the right direction ? Or post a how to ?
Thanks a lot !!!
Uh, I think you mean Galaxy 3 and not S3. I don't think the S3 is out as yet.. and yes, i5800 is in fact the Galaxy 3.
try going to the galaxy 3 specific forum. Link :

Yeah Galaxy 3 My bad.
Thanks for the link. I think I found the solution in that thread.
Need to flash the kernel with something called:
Fugumod 800Mhz v2.4.beta3
Hope it works !!!
i have root my g mini and i got a problem for overclock. coz b4, i used froyo so i can overclock to 825Mhz. but after i upgrade to 2.3.4 gingerbread. the cpu return to 600Mhz. im using version

Use the program setCPU, free on market
Hello. Since i haven't found any info about that (yea i am noob here and most likely that question will be answered somewhere, but...) so i would like to ask you.

I have recently flashed CyanogenMod 7 into my Samsung Galaxy 3 (i5800) and everything works fine. I just wanted to ask if this ROM version is OC or not? As far as i know it is possible to overclock galaxy 3 processor up to 1GHz. So Does this version do overclock my processor or doesn't? And if yes - for how much? Thanks in advance
EDIT: I flashed "ODIN -> CM7.1.0-GT-I5800_Alpha7.zip (130.35 MB)" this one version. Also if this one does not OC - where can i download oc version (800 or 1000MHz) since multiupload links are not working?

It overclocks to 1GHz or 1.1 GHz. Can't remember and there is no NON-OC version available. Also, the maximum overclock for our phone is 1.4 GHz but very few people find it to be stable.
Thank you very much, that's all i wanted to hear. Cheers
I want to overclock my phone. I recently flashed cyanogenmod 10.1. what would be a good rom to install for overclocking. thanks (please provide links)

FYI there is no such thing as a good ROM for overclocking as it is the kernel not the ROM that does the overclocking. All the kernels are in the original android development section and are on the first page of that section.

I am running Liquidsmooth's RC1. They are releasing their update soon,
Does anyone have a favorite TW based ROM? I am looking for one based on 4.2. I also heard the international 4.2.1 has been leaded. Has anyone tried creating a ROM based on this release? The TW ROMs just look nices than the AOSP despite all the unnecessary features that are loaded.
The international version of the s 3 has different hardware then the US versions making the leak difficult to port. Also there isn't any TW 4.2 ROMs for this phone as Samsung is working on 4.1.2. Lastly we at XDA have realized that what works for one person doesn't work for others so it is best to check out the ROMs yourself and see what works best for YOU.
