I went to install a rom, then rebooted. after that its got as far as the splash screen (the one with EEE on it) and now it wont go past it. i tried putting a different rom on the sd card and installing it instead, but cwm wont recognize any change in my sd card content. TF IS GOING ON?!?!?
What version of cwm do you have? What ROM were you trying to install?
Did you do a full wipe, ect?
Friend has the same problem. He flashed last CWM 5.5.0.4 from Recovery manager and when he chooses "install from sdcard", so he gets "No files found".

there is a problem with this cwm. You will need an adb shell when you are in cwm recovery, and probably remove /sdcard symbolink link, create /sdcard folder mount manually data partition and mount microsd partition if you have your rom in the microsd

I am also very new to this. So what about the current Modaco CWM Recovery 4.0.0.9? It will still be there but it won't be used? Do we also access nandroid backups from ROM manager? (So in other words, will we only do everything with ROM manager from now on?)

ROM Manager is just a way to access CWM Recovery. If you flash the official CWM Recovery, it will overwrite Modaco's version.
Woot. No more charging issues. Thanks for the heads up.

I know rite? First, I figured out how to jungle with noc on LoL, and now this? Wins all around.
Installed new recovery through rom manager, to 5.0.2.7 and rebooted into recovery.
All seems well.
BUTTTTTTTT when i tried to do a backup of my current virtuous rom i get an error: "can't mount target path"
And then when testing the restore i get an error: "can't mount path /sdcard"
And when testing the wipe & format options, instead of the traditional Yes or No.... I now have like 10 No options and 1 Yes option.
Something seems bogus, ive reinstalled the recovery twice but same effect.
Anyone??
Whats happened to my recovery guys???

Thank you so much looks like this did the charm
Well i was trying to install cleanROM 5.1 and cleanKERNEL on my HOX, but every time i would try it would say failed (unable to mount /sdcard, etc.) so i wiped my cache, did a factory reset, wiped external storage, then accidentally did a system reset so i have no OS installed now, i was running 2.20 before but found a tut to unlock bootloader and root. in bootloader it says ***tampered*** and ***unlocked***
So if i have a custom recovery installed that means im rooted right?
and basically what can i do to install this rom and kernel without an error

You have to plug it in to computer, open up "my computer" and click it... It'll ask you to reformat sdcard. Once its done, download cleanrom on your computer, mount your sdcard in trwp, and drag it onto your phone. open up recovery on your phone and flash entire rom

Just wanted to let you know that you are in the wrong forum. This is the HTC One XL forum, you need to ask your question in the Galaxy Nexus forum. That will be the best place to get an answer.

Here you go, don't forget you have to flash it in fastboot.
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/g4r0ryvjy6oce9k/recovery.img?dl=1
Or if you have the All in One toolkit you can place that file into the data folder then press the flash your own recovery button.
Thanks for that. You probably saved a few years of my life. .
Sd card mounted
Now just to find working rom. I have cwm backup in my laptop. How could I push it to my sd. Does it have to be the clockworkmod folder or I can copy to sd root and then use restore in cwm recovery?

if you flashed twrp, you can't restore cwm bu with iy
make a new bu with twrp even before flashing a new rom
Actually, I have got twrp backup as well. Just need to copy it to my sd. Ill try that after work. if I'm stocked ill seek sone help here. Thanks guys for help.
EDIT: got sorted, after I flashed boot.img extracted from rom everything working fine.

Nope it doesn't. I think it's Android stock menu.
I tried flash trough Odin few diffrent files, new and old ones. I've watched 3 videos in YouTube how to install recovery. I dont have now any idea how to do it.
I'm on android ver. 4.0.4. (if it's important). I've been doing it step by step.
I dont know why recovery won't install on my TAB.
EDIT:// Ok, I'm stupid I think I cant install recovery because I have ver. 4.0.4 android.
Try to instal older one and then install recovery

CWM is just the way to flash a new rom. You can go to cwms site but an img file won't load onto cwm only zip files
