I know Motorola has providing this upgrade. Is it a hardware or software upgrade?
If its a software only upgrade, will the devs on the forum here be able to encompass something here on the forum for the community?
Just curious...thanks

It is both the hardware, and software to support the new hardware! LOL
Just update your Xoom, get it overwith, I sent mine and had it back in 3days.
I Re-rooted no problems.

I did use the search function, so if this has been asked/answered already, I apologize.
I've read about an issue of TB's running gingerbread bricking, and it possibly being linked to the gingerbread radio. Have there been any bricking issues with MR2.5?

not that i've heard of. Im pretty sure that issue was fixed with the MR2 radio so you should be good to go.
post in Q&A
The suspicion is being more directed towards bad hardware and less towards the radio version you are running for reasons that are explained in the forums development section.
It's entirely possible that stock phones are bricking in the same fashion regardless of radios. Problem is we would not hear about them unless the verizon warranty returns were investigated more thoroughly and then verizon disclosed the information to the public. Stock users tend not to dwell in these forums and also don't always have the knowledge or the dedication to understand why their phone just died. Phone bricks...verizon overnights a replacement, the world goes on.
With that said I think the best course of action is to expect the worst regardless of what you are running and try to stay updated in the forums in case a clearer explanation arises.
Thank you for your responses!

This makes perfect sense, I hadn't even given that any thought.

I flashed MR2.5 yesterday morning and no issues yet!
Just got this device a few days ago and honestly its great. I really did not expect such a good device from Huawei but I am blown away by its performance for its price.. Has anyone else worked with it yet? I am trying every method I know to root the damn thing nothing seems to work
This is for the HTC Mytouch we likely will be of no help

Glad you like it but why did you buy it? Even the amaze has more development and that's a free phone AND it has more horsepower
Well I was on the HD2 But my device died and I did not have a full upgrade till next year plus I did ask about the amaze they told me it was out of stock. Also I posted in this section as there is no section for the newest MyTouch as of yet
How much are the Huawei selling for. The Q is a 4 inch qwerty phone right? If T-Mobile markets the phone for a cheap prepaid development might pick up. Otherwise you maybe stuck with stock Rom. Likely someone will figure out a root exploit

I think Its free with a new contract I payed 70 because of my partial upgrade its got a 4 inch screen qwerty keyboard 1.5ghz single core processor and 1gb of ram not too bad in my opinion and its a really solid device doesn't feel cheap at all like most Huawei phones,

It's a shame you got that device lol, it would be nice to get new members that are as cool as yourself
OP, it's call HUAWEI Ascend G312 qwerty or try google Huawei Unite Q, Huawei U8730. They all the same. AKA my touch Q 2012.
It uses Qualcomm 8255.
I still love my htc mytouch 4g.
If you want a section for the new mytouch Q. Please post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354
Hi Everyone,
Have you seen this via the Motorola SEA facebook page ?
facebook com / MotorolaSEA
An OTA upgrade is now running for the Atrix 2G to get ICS.
I'm user of the Atrix 4G and I know that the hardware is kindly similar (except the CPU which is for the Atrix 2 and OMAP and the ATRIX 4G a NVidia) ...
Maybe can you check what can be done based on this ROM ? (I don't know if this can help but maybe you will be able to find some interesting things ...)
I can't provide you this ROM as I'm from Europe and I'm using the Atrix 4G
With Kind Regards,

Oh god..
How can be similiar if they have a completely different hardware?
The only thing that they have similiar is the name.
Please, you are on XDA,don't think to be useful if you are a noob.
Completely different hardware and this has been covered before.
Just because it has the name "Atrix" (2) doesn't mean you can get ICS out of that and throw it on the original Atrix...

Cloudus91 I don't know who you are and that's not for me the best way to answer someone by insulting people.
Your answer was correct until the moment you use the term noob.
You should take into acount that in my job i'm not a noob at all.
So ... next to the fact that the hardware is completely different, the purpose of this message was also to understand how is it possible that Motorola has announced no ICS for the Atrix 2 and in the fact there's an OTA available.
Also I'm in the general section for the Motorola Atrix where it is supposed to be a good place to ask something to everyone.
Please also note that I have maybe add my question too fast because (and I admit) I didn't check completely the product specifications of each devices. (My fault regarding that point)
If I was someone thinnking like you , I can easilly say that all persons that have briked their phone are Noob ? Stupid ? I've never breaked a phone since I'm installing rom, customization and I'm doing that since the first time a Windows Mobile phone has been out ! So I don't think I can be consider as a noob .(<--- Please be sure that I'm not considering a person who has break his phone as a noob --> it is just an example)
Conclusion:
You're probably not a Noob in your job, passion .... but in answering people I guess you're a real one.
Anyway thank you for the information.
Kind regards,

Sorry but the good place to ask something is the Q&A section...
And the atrix2 update its not canceled...so...I do t see how this post its usefull...
from the (m)ATRIX...
If you checked the ICS schedule, the Atrix 2 is still on track for an ICS release. Furthermore, the Southeast Asian update was seeded even before the updated schedule was posted online.

Man don't sweat this. There should be a sticky/video for anyone entering the Atrix 4g forums that explains the need for a really thick skin before posting anything.
I participate in more than a few XDA forums, and as far as I can tell. This one is the most passionate (read; intolerant) of them all.
Hopefully you can still find a way to enjoy the site. Not everyone feels the need to be abusive. And there's more than a few great resources here. It is worth sticking around.
Welcome and enjoy.
Yeah, people were a lot more polite most of the time in both the g1 and desire z forums. I always get a chuckle at how many people want to report an close threads on the atrix forums.
The Internet is a funny place.

So I'm a little confused about what the Premium Suite is, but an article on cnet I just read makes it seem like the UK is getting it as a free update to the GS3 (I can't post a link because I'm "new")
Anyone have any idea if we are getting this on Verizon?
No one knows one way or the other. The best we can do is wait for some word from Samsung. A better question would be if the SGS3 will be officially getting 4.2 at all (even international) because we'd have a better chance of receiving that. That's my speculative theory anyway.

I was wondering about this, too. However, being that it's Verizon, we'd probably be getting it three months after everyone else did.

On average, Verizon trails 6 months on updates. The S3 JB update was one of the fastest ever...
I'm just hoping that it can be incorporated into custom roms.

Excuse me if this post is out of place, but I have always owned phones that got lots of attention with cooked Roms. But my Motorola Photon Q 4G just sits around with this Android 4.0 and no upgrade in sight. It's definitely soured me against Motorola and doubt I'll get another. I even jumped through Motorola's hoops to give up any warranty so I could root. But the hoops I think have greatly reduced any interest in experimenting. Again, sorry if this is out of place, but I'm tired of dropping in here and still seeing nothing. Please, please, please, if you have the expertise, give us Motorola Photon Q owners some hope.
Oy.
You should probably scope a device out and see how active the development community is. I don't see why Motorola is responsible for a lack of developer community...
At any rate, you have CM10, an official JB soak with an official JB update on the way. I helped port TWRP, made a custom kernel and did my best to keep it updated with the Moto updates.
As always, the open source arena is just that - an open one. People are doing it in their free time, so either you can help out or wait for others to produce something. But posts/threads like this don't exactly inspire development. At least I am thoroughly uninspired by your post.
See, the small development community for this phone is what inspired me to start working on CM10 myself. If you're frustrated with the pace of development, then please help. We would all of us appreciate it.

For what it's worth, Sprint/Motorola began rolling JB update today - OTA.
I wouldn't even know where to begin.
