Looking for a kernel to replace the stock 4.0.4 kernel in the leaked ROM. Are there any that work?
Thanks!

4.0.4 is not in aosp so the answer is no
Any of the ICS kernels for the NS4G SHOULD work.

Has anyone confirmed this? I liked 4.0.4 when I ran it for a week or so but would like to over-clock cpu to 1200.
I tried Matrix and it worked except for Wifi.
Kind of common problem with Matr1x.. wipe cache+ dalvik cache and flash again!! Does the trick for me!

I used Matrix kernel too, and everything seemed fine. Air Kernel should work too.

I'm using the 14b2 faux123 kernel with v21y. It's a lot better than the stock kernel.

I'm using this kernel as well. I can confirm that it's much smoother and quicker than the stock kernel.

There are two threads/ variations of faux kernels. One is for GB like this one and the other is for cm7 based. Use the other kernel 050b1 i think.

I dont think so cuz at that time cm7 wouldnt work with new BBz, dunnno if he patched it up(his kernel) later on.

Just looked into it. Apparently 050 is for Rc2 only.

OK, I got it working. I flashed my old favorite Trinity kernel. I really didn't expect it to work, but apparently it does.
The Eaglesblood ICS release 3 came with Trinity Kernel and had UMS support They just updated to Supporting the V21Y baseband. going to try Harsh and see what happens

That would explain it then lol
I running T15-G2x-06022012 with CM7 RC3 OCed to 1400 with out issues
For Faux's 014b2 kernel, which do you recommend when running Kwes' modified stock ROM (v21y)? I see pre-UV and stock voltage versions. I'm leaning towards stock voltage, but is there a major advantage for the pre-UV? (I'm not even really sure what is meant by pre-UV -- pre-under voltage?)
Thanks!
EDIT: pre-UV is pre-under volted. From a little more reading, I found that pre-UV means the kernel has a -50mv UV already. So if using UV/OC tools and apps, you need to take into account that -50mv already.

Hopefully this explanation helps anyone else with a similar question.
Hi my skyrocket is currently running 4.0.3 ics leaked rom, and I was wondering if i could flash custom kernel on ics rom, or would I have to stock gingerbread to use custom kernel. I just do not want to get bricked etc. Thank you.
It depends on the ROM, if it's SKY ICS or some other modded Samsung rom, then you pretty much have to stick with stock, or do some research because I don't really know what Kernels are available for it. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in...
If it's AOSP based (CM9, AOKP, Chimaira, etc), then the only other option I know of is InstigatorX's kernel, which seems to work quite well. Pick a stable version, since the latest has issues with the camera. The stock kernel for CM9 is also quite good, but the CPU governors added in Instigators are great for saving battery.

You can flash cymbaline. Don't try to flash instigator's cm9 kernal you aren't using an aosp rom. Cymbaline fits your deal nicely. You'll dig it.

I also use this kernel and in conjunction with System Tuner for OC/UV.
I just got this phone, and I'm liking it, is there a better kernel than the stock cm10 one? I plan on listening to music and using core features of the phone. Nothing fancy.
Also, mines a 4g if it makes a difference.

These kernels do not work. I think only marmite has a cm10 version. Cm10 did something stupid that breaks other kernels.

Everyone has their own favorite when it comes to kernels. Ask 5 people and get 5 answers.
MATR1X for stability
AIR for features gov choices (I use AIR cause I like the blue color really gives the LCD a rich deep look)
Marmite good all around people rave about it
Trinity for performance
I'm sure I'm missing some but these are the ones I have flashed
You can't really go wrong just start flashing and see which one fits your usage best.

Trinity didn't Sitwell with cm10, marmite did however. No biggie. Works fine. Although the. "Stock one" had the color tweaks, likened that.

Marmite supports voodoo, which are the color tweaks that cm10 stole. App can be found in play store "voodoo sound" and is for amoled screens.

Only marmite supports cm10 AFAIK, you can't just use any kernel with cm10.
To get cm10 kernel back just wipe cache/dalvik and reflash ROM with gapps,

My apologies, I was in a hurry and did not think the topic was CM10 specific. At the moment other then the CM Kernel I do believe Marmite is the only supported CM kernel and I believe that has stipulations. You can ask the dev bedalus. He is very helpful.
Another question, in the update script is data wiped? Or does it just flash system?

What rom are you on for this kernel?
I was on clean rom based off the OTA k3. 5.2, and 5.6.
That is a stock ROM., with stock kernel.
I flashed back to the version based off the J1 leak 4.5 (I like some options on it), but want the newest stock kernel.
Go to jellybeans ROM in development, scroll down and download the stock kernel
