i cant connect to college wifi from my galaxy ace...not only me galaxy users of our college cant connect to wifi where iphone easily connects to wifi......we used to connect to our college wifi by using "wifiaid" app but nw its removed from market
PLZ HELP ME

Why is it not connecting
Error message, etc.

Turn off 4G.
Sorry could you please clarify more?
Sometimes on my phone with a new connection, i have to open my browser and enter my password on phone. When i don't, it says its connected but i don't get any access.

I have the Sprint Nexus S 4G, and the only time the hotspot will not share my internet connection is when I have 4G enabled. I thought maybe this was the case for you also.

I have an Ns4G also, does that to me also. Couple times I had to reboot phone cause after I would try to switch back to 3G and use the hotspot and it wouldn't connect. Don't know if it works when paying for hotspot from Sprint though.

well i too had the problem...here try this..
1. disable wi-fi on fone.
2. switch off the non detected router.
3. check if the router is security enabled (password protected).
4. select and forget all wifi networks presently on fone.
5. click advance tab and select best-wifi performance.
6.turn on both routers and then turn on wi-fi on fone.
7. u shld b able to c both routers now.
8.Kindly also ckech do u have static ip or random ip bi ur ISP.

No trouble at home, multiple work locations, Starbucks, airports etc.
Thank you for the detailed instructions! Will try it tonight. one router is for use in the living room while the other is for the bedroom due to the range.

I've noticed that the wifi range for the sensation is good, but not as good as my old iphone 4's. I used to be able to connect to my wifi network from my room with my iphone 4, but with the sensation it's hit and miss. Sometimes it'll connect but it'll drop it and go back to tmobile's network frequently.
Nevertheless, I just use my laptop instead to use wifi . It's easier.

do remember bro...walls inbetween fone and router do hinder the signal...so b sure the non-detectable router is brodcasting at max strength...also gimme the model and make of non-detectable router as well as probable distance from usage area.....enjoy
Check the channel setting on the non detected router it might be using some higher channels or the router might have broadcast ssid disabled .
Broadcast is definitely on as my wife's iphone can detect the network.

Is the one not being detected using 5Ghz? If so, that's the problem. Phone only works on 2.4Ghz.

Now to be specific I'm not talking about cellular network I'm talking about sharing a wifi signal thru my phone because my phone can reach the signal but my computer cannot is there any way for me to connect and beacon the signal thru my phone I believe it's called ad hoc but not sure

see if you can share the connection via usb or bt tethering
I did it once not sure how i used my phone as a wifi modem don't ask me how or what app or setting it was

It's probably easier to get a wifi repeater.
It's not as cool from a ""Look at the awesome nerdy stuff I can do" perspective...but it's probably the easiest way.
Using your phone as a repeater will be unfriendly to your battery life.

Is there any way to boost the internet connection. My 01 connects to my wifi smoothly before but now its having a hard time connecting to my wifi eventhough the signal is Excellent full bars 54mbps.. tried to reset my phone but still connects slow.. but my sis who has a Nokia C3 can connect right away .. and i hate that coz my phone is an ANDROID.. plss help..

Is there a app that will let me share my droids WIFI connection with my pc with windows 7. I ask this because my friend has my pc wifi chip and out of town, so no Internet on pc and I don't have a modem with ethernet and I accidentally flashed a new radio to my DROID so no data for me.... FoxFi can be used for Bluetooth and Wireless sharing of internet.
PDA Net allows for a tethered connection, but an application must be installed on the connected computer for it to work.
