HTC Desire S No Service - HTC Desire S

Dear Droid Users,
Last night while I was using the SuperOneClick 2.3 it hanged and I unplugged it.Thinking of the unsuccessful root attempt I tried to un-root it using the same software but it hung again. Then I disconnected it and went to the H-Boot menu then tried to recover it by using the menu.Despite of my hard reset's,since then it can not detect my network.
By a little diagnosis,I have found that only the carrier which was being used during the mishap, has such issues, other carriers those which I have tested are working just fine.
Can anybody help me out please?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure how this could've happened, but it sounds like the SIM is messed up. Obviously if other carriers are working fine (if you're referring to different SIMs) then it must be something wrong with your SIM.

But the same SIM is working fine in other cells, confusing as it maybe, the same carrier sims are not working anymore in my Desire S.

I S-Off'ed it and then quick flashed it and then it worked!
The radio is OK and all available carriers are supported via their SIM cards

If u have issues, share here!
My friend is having big issues with his debranded o2 desire
Apparently its not getting a signal, and won't read from the sim or SD!
Anyone else having probs?
Edit
Pre-curse to this u must have HTC sync installed. And once it is installed.. run the ruu.... the goto your control panel->device manager .. and look for an Android 1.0 device. Replace the driver for one of the ones Windows suggests ... called myHTC. Now the ruu should continue.
I fixed the problem by using a goldcard in the phone and running the RUU from my quote below.
In order for the ruu to work, I had to boot the phone fullywith no sim or sdcard ... wait for processes to show errors etc... and then when sense loads... eventually.. insert the usb cable.... the options will show up.. select HTC sync.
And then quickly run the ruu
If u need to create a goldcard, use this tool!

dont know why but it worked..... now to re-root and apply the update (rooted!)

Same Problem here after update. My Phone is an debranded german T-Mobile Version.
Any sollutions so far? Does anyone have a original HTC Image of the complete new ROM (maybe original radio included)?
Yep, I've debranded my Orange headset and am having the same problems! Don't know what to do.
The same issues were covered a countless number of times with different radios and branded phones that had been unbranded. Why did you update so soon if people had issues iwth this before?
Can you still get to the recovery to flash back the previous version or not?

Exactly the same problems for me. Trying to install 2.1 now.
Hard reset from options menu doesn't work. Tried to reset from recovery menu, it ddn't help. "Process system is not responding" ;(
Only seems to happen on debranded phones.
AAAAAHHHHH!!! We're screwed!
big fail...

I got the same issue with a debranded o2 device.
After using a GoldCard during the update, it worked like a charm, hope this helps!
I read from different sources, that you can avoid these problems by havin your goldcard in the phone (even if the device is already debranded). This seemed to be the case with the old update (1.21) as well. Read this for example:
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...d-without-wifi-problems-for-debranded-phones/
Can anybody confirm this for a debranded german TMob Desire?
T-Mobile German, just reflashed 2.1 stock HTC Rom with goldcard, now try to update, write when done.

MY PHONE HAS NO SIGNALS.. IT ALWAYS SAYS "PREPARING SIM WHEN I TOGGLE AIRPLANE MODE" BUT NOTHING AFTER THAT .. NO SIGNALS//
ANY ANY KIND OF HELP IS APPRICIATED .. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP
Did you tried a new sim card?
Also there's a trick to add some regular office tape to the back of the sim card to try to make it thicker thus making the sim have better contacts with the phone.

just add a couple of layers of scotch or packing tape to the back. something light. dont use anything like duct tape
Are you sure its SIM unlocked?
There is SIM unlocking and boot loader unlocking.
They are different. You want SIM unlocked.
You can buy a SIM unlock code from websites.

how come the real owner of the phone says it is working for him and not for me ?
can the update to 1.85 help?
it does tranfer my sim contacts to phone ..
factory reset. and/or try new RUU. doesn't work still = damage to the sim reader pins OR your micro sim is damaged. check apn settings too
my phone does read my sim , because it has transfered my sim contacts to the phone ..
i think there is some problem with the radio.. i'm going to update it to the latest ruu first ..

Digging up a thread that is almost a year and a half old and just saying "I have the same problem" without any specifics is not the right way to post a problem.
Is your phone modded (bootloader unlocked, custom ROM, etc.)?
What are you bootloader details?
Stock ROM or custom? If custom, which one?
Did you flash anything recently? What was it?
Did the issue arise after flashing something new, or just started on its own?
Also, a solution was already posted several times on this thread. Did even bother to read the thread, and try the fix?

Well, did you try to put tape on the SIM, as suggested multiple times on the thread?
Also, if you tried something, and it didn't work, than you need to state that when asking for help.
And dude, you aren't even in the right forum section. This is for the One X/XL, not the One.

It doesn't matter which radio you flash, as long as it's an Evita radio it's compatible. You've possibly got a hardware problem. Have you tried running an RUU?

Well, if you completely ran the RUU and updated to the latest, I can only think of two things:
1. Your phone is blacklisted
2. Your phone hardware is damaged.
It could just be a coincidence that you flashed apps and ROMs prior to it dying. Relock and return to your vendor is all I got...

I work for tmo, quick question, how long has it been since you got a new sim card? You want to get a new one every year or so. Just make sure you go to a corporate store and not a branded retailer. I don't trust those guys. And if the store has one in stock, ask for a sim made in India. By far the best reception. Either the rep or you will have to cut it to micro though, it's a standard sized sim card.

[Q] not getting data at all?

Heya! My friend gave me an HTC one m8 (verizon) after my at&t was stolen. I popped in the sim card and I can make calls and send txts and all but no data. I tried changing roms and flashing kernel but nothing seems to work. called att and after some adjustment they made to my account it still didnt work. went to att store to change my sim card (they said at support that it might be a sim card issue) and still I get nothing I know that I wont get LTE but having no data at all just sux. Do you know anyone who is using ATT sim card on verizon m8?? or maybe can someone give me directions on what to do? Ive been reading about it for past few days and I see that it works great for tmobile users.
Im rooter, soff, unlocked and cid 1.

What fixes on VZW is RUU back to 5.01. Some say further but it must be Stock. Let it boot. Before doing anything else, boot into STOCK Recovery and Factory Reset. You really need to read hear as the process is covered in detail over, and over, and over, and over..........
Worth a try.

HTC Desire 620 - Not recieving and signal.

Hi,
I've just received a HTC Desire 620 (The single sim version). The trouble is I can't get it to get any signal. It was previously locked to 3, but has now been unlocked, I'm trying to run it off Giffgaff. (Although the issue still happens even if I put a 3 sim in it)
The previous owner says it happened after a software update. So I've tried factory resets to no avail. So I guess the issue must be software related.
I've considered doing a reflash, but I can't find the stock rom from anywhere. So if nothing else, I would be extremely grateful if someone could upload their rom.
Thank you very much

I can't get the device to boot any more, it'll just display the htc logo then turn off. I guess something has gone wrong with one of my many flashing attempts. So I really need to find another way to flash a full rom. If anyone knows where I can download the RUU for the HTC Desire 620, on Three...
Thanks
I've downloaded the zip from HTCdev, but I've got no idea how I can flash it or anything :'(
I've managed to flash the rom, so I'm running completely stock. Does anyone have any other ideas for what could be causing the problem?
