I accidentally found out I was able to charge my GT7+ on my Mac as follow:
I bought an external battery, New Trent IMP99D (Amazon Link) and it came with a special USB extension cable (picture below) that is designed for the Tab 10.1. If I plug the GT7+ directly to the IMP99D without using the extension cable, NO charging takes place. However, if I use the extension cable, charging works.
I connect the above extension cable to my MacBook Air, connect the GT7+ charging cable and the tablet and... VOILA.. it's charging! HoneyComb even reported that it is an "AC Charging" and it charge pretty fast.
So you can either
a). Buy the battery and it comes with the cable (you need external battery if you travel a lot... the GT7+ eat battery like crazy!)
b). Buy JUST THE CABLE, model IMP44B (manufacturer link here)

I was under the impression that even though it shows an icon that it's not charging, it actually is. But it's trickle charging. Are you telling me that this cable can help make it charge faster? My heart would like to believe this, but my instincts tell me no.
Yes, it charge much faster. I did a quick test by plugging the GT7+ using the extension cable and monitored the battery percentage via Settings and mA usage via Battery Monitor Widget app. The result is as follow:
NOTE: Device is turned off all the time, only turned on to check battery. Wifi and GPS is ON.
12:48 AM
- Honeycomb battery @ 77%
- Battery monitor app: -26mA (just plugged in, the app read the mA state every 2 minutes)
12:54 AM
- Honeycomb battery 79%
- Battery monitor app +954mA
12:57 AM
- Honeycomb battery 80%
- Battery monitor app +929mA
01:00 AM
- Honeycomb battery: 81%
- Battery monitor app: +782mA
01:03 AM
- Honeycomb battery: 82%
- Battery monitor app: +864mA
So every 3 minutes it goes up by 1%.
Note that I am testing this while my MacBook Air is NOT connected to the charger. I notice my MacBook Air battery drain much faster. I use iStat Menus on my MacBook Air to monitor usage and the battery use goes down very quickly when the GT7+ is connected. So it seems that the GT7+ is drawing a lot of power using the extension cable, which is a good thing for me!
Just out of curiosity: Is this the same result you get with the "trickle" charge?

Just a few quick specs and features before i get into my findings.
Specs:
- Capacity: 3000 mAh Performance for iPhones: 100% battery life
- Output: 5V / 1A;
- Size: 4.33" x 0.9" x 0.9"
- Weight: 3.07 oz.
- Warranty: 12 months
Features:
300 Mah battery charger
Hi - Beam flashlight
Low - Beam flashlight
Strobe mode
Removable clip
Observations:
- Both charging ports are on the bottom:
- Clip is removable if you don't like it.
- Glass of the front is flush. May cause scratching if placed face down
Pro:
- Despite being rated at 1A, my phone was charging at 1.9(Galaxy charge current) VERY impressed. (this was with included cable. VER high quality Micro USB)
- I feel that the design is very simple and gets the job done, it combines a power pack with a flashlight; with multiple modes so you do not need to use the one on your phone.
- The side is a little under 2 AA batteries and shorter than my standalone flashlight
- Auto on and off (Once a device is detected it will start charging and it will shutoff when it is unplugged) No more worrying about leaving it on.
Cons:
- No power status indicator. So you don't know how much juice you have left. I reached out the RavPower they told me that there was no way.
- Flash light button does not sit flush
This looks too much like generic chinese power banks with the RavPower branding.

this gives 2A charging. and is rated at 3000Mah. I haven't used those in order to compare.
Where did you buy the battery?
I don't know if I'm the first one to say this, but I find wireless charging completely useless... I had an old '90s Motorola with a charging stand... I find that INFINITELY more useful than "Wireless charging".
First of all, the charger still has wires, so you're still stuck on a wall... Unless it has a battery attached to it, which is nice, though most scenarios where you use an on-the-go charger you are "on the go" and moving, so a normal external battery could do... (see third point)
Second. your phone is still during that time... You can't do anything to it... Why? Just so you don't need to put a wire in the port, to save some (1 second) time (?)
Third, it has ZERO stability. That's why I say that charger from 20 YEARS AGO was a lot better. You put your phone in and it charged. Same as Wireless charging, except that old Motorola didn't fall off and stop charging the second someone bumped into the table just a little bit. Or you are in a car...
I find wireless charging just good marketing taking charging a step back...
Also, the USB pins that keep the wire in my phone got crushed, so my phone right now can't be lifted while charging... PEOPLE ACTUALLY PAY FOR THIS???
PS: I found a "useful" use in cafes

All you need to do is plug in the phone and "wirelessly" charge....
I can't see the appeal, either. I use my phone a lot whilst it's attached to the charging cable. You can't do that when you use a wireless charger.
My charging cable is 2 meters long. I can sit on the sofa and use my phone as an ereader or TV screen whilst it's charging. If I were to use a charging pad, I'd have to leave it on the table, which is not very convenient.
For me wireless charging is just a useless gimmick.
I find the potential of it interesting, rather than the current state that it's in.
It just seems a billion times more durable than the damn micro-usb port on EVERY Android device.
Maybe wireless charging is the solution, or maybe it's usb type-c.... we'll see i guess :]
Yeah I don't see the appeal either. Maybe it's good for coffee shops or restaurants where you don't use your phone anyways and it's lying on the table, so might as well get charged.
Hi, I have a MOTO G XT1033 with a dead battery (when connecting to the charger or usb only if you have a white led on). The solution is very simple and I discovered by chance a few days ago after buying one with the described defect.
[TOOLS NEEDED]
- Original samsung or lg or motorola charger
- Nokia Battery 3.7 (loaded)
[DEAD BATTERY SOLUTION]
1 - open the cell phone
2 - remove the original battery
3 - Near the battery connection there are four unprotected soldering pins
4 - solder a positive*(1) wire and a negative*(GND) wire. (Picture below)

5 - then connect the soldered wires to the Nokia battery
6 - turn on the phone, you will see that the device will turn on normally, wait for it to turn on, then turn it off normally ..
7 - Here is the secret, after the test in step 6, with the device turned off and the battery connected in it (nokia). Connect your device and quickly connect the device's original battery (MOTOROLA BATTERY). Wait for the machine to turn on. It will connect with 1% battery, quickly connect the charger and wait 5 minutes. Is enough for the original battery to pick up a 3% charge, but it will still show 1% on the screen.
8 - do step 7, turn off the device normally, remove the motorola battery and the nokia battery, then turn on the motorola normally and turn on the unit and plug in the charger, ready, your motorola is alive again!
Sorry my english, I'm newbie!
hi, it works also on xt1032? Could you give exactly the P/N of Nokia battery used?

In fact I was looking for an app that just avoids me to go through the whole menu (settings > battery > wireless quick charge/cable charge) each time I want to change the charging mode of my Galaxy S7 from normal to quick charge (cable or wireless mode), Does this just do that, and is it avoiding this and does it indicate on the homescreen in which mode it is set ?
I have two devices and when I plug in the car usb data/charger into both phones I get the following on each device:
1- Huawei P30 Pro: it charges right away and connects the EasyCon app (car's infotainment system), no issues. Two years old phone.
2- Samsung s22 ultra: at 75% battery left, once I plug in the charger it gives me 40 minutes until full then quickly stops charging and resumes charging but this time it shows 02h05m until full. Why did it reconsider the time it initially gave me? Also, Samsung S22 Ultra fails to establish a connection via EasyCon app with my car's infotainment system.
Please, help.
Thanks!
car usually have 2.4ah power which is 1.2 for each device. its not enough for fast charging of new PD supported phone (but okey for headphones, flashlights ..etc)
so using of external car charger will solve you problems
ps: dont buy any trash from aliexpress, buy a good ones with >3000 reviews on it.

Thank you Malikin! That's definitely an option, but it won't allow me to use my car's infotainment system through the EasyCon app.
I was thinking maybe there is something preventing my Samsung S22 from treating the car's charger as a charger and rather dealing with it as a media.
When I plug charger in, unlike my Huawei P30 Pro, I do Not get the usual options (charging, transferring pictures, transferring files, midi... Etc)
This cable has solved the problem for me

The attached cable, interestingly, has solved the problem for me.
