[Q] Need PIT File for P6210 Model US WIFI - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello,
I need a PIT file for the Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 US WIFI P6210 model. I'm soft bricked and reflash of the PDA file with Odin has not corrected my boot lockup. I've found and downloaded a copy of a PIT file for the P6200, but I'm afraid to load it in the event I screw the unit up worse (arguably, what could be worse than a tablet that won't run).
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Right after flashing the ODIN package, try booting into the "stock recovery" before actually booting your tab up. Clear cache and data, then try rebooting your tablet again.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium

Unless you misused a PIT when flashing before, you shouldn't have a need for a PIT to fix.

OK, I tried reflashing the Odin package (three files boot, CSC and PDA) using Odin 1.8.5 It appears to run to completion. Then when rebooting I get E: failed to mount /cache (No suchfile or directory)
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
*manual Mode*
--Updating application--
E: failed to mount /efs (no such file or directory)
install application for customer: Can't mount /efs
copy application failed.
--Applying Multi-CSC--
E:failed to mount /efs (no such file or directory)
E:multi_csc:Can't mount efs
Multi-csc applied failed.
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:can't open cache/recovery/last_log
E: failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
Then from menu I select wipe cache partition and get
--Wiping cache...
Formatting cache...
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p7
Cache wipe complete.
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
Then I
wipe data/factory reset
Select - YES- Delete all user data
Get the following messages:
--Wiping data..
Formatting data...
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p9
Formatting... /cache...
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p7
Data wipe complete.
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
e: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory)
Then I select reboot system now
Then I get about 5-6 more red "can't mount", failed to mount" messages that go by too fast to copy, it reboots and gets to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus screen and it just freezes at this point.
In a different post I stated that how the Tab became locked up was I started getting SOD Screen of Death spontaneous reboots and heated battery symptoms, sometimes on the charger, sometimes not. I could always reboot it and it would then act normally for a while (1-2 days), then start with the reboots and warm battery again. About a week ago, I woke up and found the Tab (on the charger), stuck on the Galaxy Tab startup screen. Repeated reboots kept getting back to a lockup on the startup screen. Since then, I did some reading, found a copy of Odin and loaded two different PDA files, both for the P6210 supposedly, they each mounted successfully per Odin and then kept getting similar error messages like the above and a lockup on startup at the end. After trying loading the PDA files by themselves, I then tried loading the CSC and bootloader files to an Odin run with the PDA file that came in the zip file with the CSC and bootloader files. I don't know much about Android but know a little about programming, windows and DOS. It seems like I am either missing a bunch of files or the directory structure is missing a bunch of folders, which is why I could only see that the PIT file with a repartition may be the only thing to get me out of this (assuming the repartition also loads a directory structure onto the Tab - don't know if this is the case or not). The other possibility I suppose is that there may be an electronic problem with the unit, but usually you get a complete failure and not a reboot lockup.

Just so I'm clear on the above post, as soon as I flashed the package, I unplugged the Tab from the PC and held power + sound up, got into stock recovery and cleared cache and then cleared data. The error messages above were what I got doing these things.

Same Problem
Did you ever get it out of the boot loop?
I did the same as you but to no effect - anyone know if samsung will replace these "defective" units? Clearly there is something very wrong given the thousands of hits that have the same problem.
K

i got same problem with my p6200 tab 3 month ago,
i solved with pit file
u should find pit file to solve this problem

as i saw you can get the .pit file by opening and extracting the firmware(md5 file) with winrar.
just my 2 cents

Where is the PIT file?

I extracted all the files - nothing with PIT. Do I need to open the img files too?
thanks,
K

Got a PIT - flashed - now can't mount system
Otherwise the cache is now there and I get an updating message right after reboot - tried the clear cache and reset - which works (no failure notices).
But...get a failed to mount /system (invalid argument) for both updating app and applying multi-CSC now and of course still in the logo boot loop.
Ideas?
Thanks!
K

Any luck on this?

Any luck?

Hi Submicron,
I'm on the same situation. After flashing 4.0.4, wifi became unstable. Someone said that I should flash a pit file, I did and now I'm bricked. Did you solved, or found a working pit file for the P6210? Thanks in advance.

I'm also having troubles with wifi on ICS (but not on HC, strange)... Unfortunately I own a P6200 and my .pit file won't help you.
Submicron, do NOT use a P6200 pit file, it will render you tab unusable, as I've read they have different partition layouts.
And I know it already is unusable, but anyways... ;P
I bet someone will pop here with a PIT file for P6210 soon enough, so hang in there :good:

[Q] Confusing software brick

Hey all:
While I consider myself quite technologically inclined, it appears that what I think and what reality is are quite different things. Thus, I look for advice from this wonderfully adept community (I've surfed around quite a bit, but I've never had to ask anything).
Here are my phone's specs:
Model: i9020A
Carrier: Koodo
The short story:
because, currently, there's only ICS for the GSM version of the phone, I thought I'd try flashing the GSM version of ICS onto my phone, then load the radio settings for my phone type so that it would work. It didn't. I was able to load ICS, and it worked great; the radio settings for the i9020A, however, didn't load up. As a result, I tried to reload the stock 2.3.6 onto the phone, and I seemed to have failed miserably.
I'm now at the following point:
Normal boot: only loads to the Google screen (with the padlock)
Fastboot Mode: here's the information.
Product Name - HERRING
HW Version - REV 16
Bootloader Version: I9020XXKL1
Baseband Version: I9020XXKI1
Carrier Info: ATT
Serial Number: 3935CEB394BE00EC
Lock State: Unlocked
When I select "Recovery," it briefly goes to the Google screen (with the unlocked padlock at the bottom), then loads into ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.0
Here are the below options:
- reboot system now
- apply update from sdcard
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- install zip from sd card
- backup and restore
- mounts and storage
- advanced
- GO BACK
Below these options is the following information:
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.0
E: Can't find misc
E: failed to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache"
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't find misc
E: failed to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache"

E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't find misc
E: failed to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache"
Essentially, what I am asking is if there is anyway to load the original 2.3.6 for the i9020A on here. If I'm able, then I'll patiently wait for the ICS OTA.
Any help that anyone can provide would be immensely appreciated. If there's any other information I can provide, such as pictures, I'd be more than happy to provide that.
Thanks so much.

Do you have a backup that you can restore? If not, grab the 2.3.6 update from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664 and try a flesh install.
You should also flash a new radio, I didn't have any luck with the KI1 radio on my i9020a.
Not saying this will help at all but have you tried the latest version of clockwork mod your version seems to be very old. Try this one and see if it helps Clockwork 5.0.2.3
Thanks a ton for this. I'm a bit of a noob with this, so any other information, i.e., how to flash it properly, would be super helpful.
Again, thanks a bunch for the reply!

Download this LINK put it on your internal sd card boot up into recovery then do a full wipe in clockwork mod and flash the ROM it contains recovery, radio and bootloader. So you will be back to stock and can follow one of the guides on here to get back onto which every rom you choose.
Will do.
Thanks again!

Okay, so I've downloaded the file, then put it onto the sd card.
I then boot into Fastboot Mode, then go to Recovery. I do the following here:
- wipe data/factory reset, then "Yes - delete all user data". It says the following:
-- Wiping data. . .
Formatting /data. . .
Formatting /cache. . .
E: format_volume: no MTD partition "cache"
Formatting /sd-ext. . .

E: can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: can't find misc
E: failed to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache"
I then went into "advance" and "Wipe Dalvik Cache" (which works)
I also did "wipe cache partition," and it says the following:
-- Wiping cache
Formatting /cache
E: format_volume: no MTD partition "cache"
Cache wipe complete.

It says:
-- installing <the above file name>

then there's a bar, which never fills; it then goes to the following text:

I'm pretty stuck. Anything else you might have would be fantastic!

tehgeekguy is right, if your model number is I9020A then it should work using the rom he linked, did you install Clockwork 5.0.2.3 before trying to install the stock 2.3.6 rom, if not then please try.

So, I went to the page and downloaded the following file:
"Option for no confirmation at all. Just flash in recovery.
signed-noconfirm.zip"
I put this onto the sd card, then attempted to install. This is what I received:
"-- Installing: /sdcard/signed-noconfirm.zip

Thus, it seemed to work pretty well. I thus rebooted recovery, but ClockworkMod is still showing that it's version V3.0.0.0.
Should I be flashing one of the other options on that page? If so, which one? And would you, by chance, have a detailed explanation as to how to go about doing that?
Thanks so much. I'm starting to feel like I won't be getting anywhere . . . . The responses have been awesome, though, everyone. I really appreciate it.

[Q] Urgent - Boot loop and unable to restore to stock.

Alright guys, I've got a question. I have my brothers nexus s that has had CM9 A11 on it and we decided to move to the latest CM9. Long story short, I am no longer able to boot the phone up, but can only access CWM Recovery and Bootloader/Fastboot mode. Trying to boot results in a bootloop. I need help getting this thing back to stock however I can. I've tried to flash recovery.img via fastboot but cannot get my computer to recognize the phone in order to do what I need. He would like his phone back ASAP and I hate to tell him its bricked for a few days. Thanks!
Download full OTA ROM from the link in my signature. Boot into CWM, mount USB storage, and transfer the file to SD card. Flash it. Done.
Just make sure you download the correct ROM for your phone model.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Video on that page will show you how to install drivers on a windows-based machine to recognise the phone for fastboot, and provide files to do so.
Also, can't you go into CWM --> mounts and storage --> mount usb storage (while plugged into the computer) then copy over any files you need, then flash through recovery.
I forgot to mention that I am getting this when trying to format cache:
E:Can't find misc
E:failed to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache"

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/latest_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/latest_log
E:Can't find misc

I tried to install the OTA update like you said but got the following:
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img".
"boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/(OTA file name here)
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
Maybe the internal SD card is bad? Any thoughts?
When you get the drivers installed, download the latest 5.0.2.0 CWM from here.
Alright, so I got fastboot to recognize the phone, but am having another problem. It gave me an error when I gave the command to flash the new CWM. I tried to install pdanet for the drivers, and the phone says at the bottom "FASTBOOT STATUS - FAILInvalid Command". I really think something has been corrupted, any ideas on how to fix it/restore it? Thanks for all the help guys.
Fastboot status is not a command.
Fastboot devices is the command you use to test if it sees the device . The serial number will show.
uh oh sounds like someone flashed brickROM V1

[Q]Datawind UbiSlate 7c+ edge tablet cwm loop

I flashed my ubislate 7c+ edge with the wrong recovery, and i believe it wiped all partitions.I have already tried every possible method found in any nook and corner of the internet.
I'm stuck in cwm recovery loop, it will boot to nothing but cwm recovery.
LiveSuite isnt working, i have like 4-5 images out of which atleast ONE of them must be the correct firmware(all of these i found on xda and the internet which was said that it would work) BUT none work since partitions are gone...
recovery says like cant mount system
cant mount emmc.... etc
Pheonix card doesnt work either, shows sprite error
I can make neither head nor tail of it.
Can anyone show me a way with which i could manually fix this tablet by either writing the partitions manually somehow or doing some magic trick(lol)? Please enlighten me.:crying::crying::crying:

After months of pure hopelessness ! I opened my back cover(for the 3rd time), moved the sticker and noted the board number(pcb number i guess?).

In livesuit 1.11 it showed x162 error(for a gazillionth time).I was hanging on the edge now. Had downloaded only 2 firmwares.
Tried the 2nd one and boom ! it went past 4% and i watched with glee as upgrade succeeded!! So my partition was wiped, but this managed to rewrite it.(Pats myself).
No datawind logo on boot. Everything works perfectly.
Link to working rom.I'll never try to upgrade this thing again lol .

Dude. You need to flash ROM via livesuit. Nothing else will work I promise.
Unzip that file and you will find the image to flash.
Good luck.

[Q] * [Discussion : Inputs from Android Experts] *Topic: BOOTLOOP / NAND WRITE FAIL*

Hello XDA community,
I am proposing this thread as a common knowledge base on
Rampant Nand Write Fail issue.
Having searched through numerous forums here & on Internet, i concluded no working solution on it.
Many have accepted fate of their devices - Dead .. and put them in storerooms.
For rest frantic people out there eating into *help me* lines , they will soon accept the same.
So, the purpose of this thread is to Analyze why did it happen, than to expect a Resurrection .
Having been a victim of NAND WRITE Fail, here are my Final thoughts :
Characteristics of problem :
1. BootLoop
2. Typical of Kitkat OS
3. Download mode available
4. Recovery mode unavailable
- flashes open-stomach android logo for split second , BootLoop again.
5. Happened in devices that initially did not come with KNOX,
but were upgraded to Kitkat with KNOX.
Observations :
1. Changing System / USB 2.0 port - did not solve.
2. Changing versions of ODIN - did not solve
3. Re-flashing of Stock 4.4.2 ROM - Failed [NAND Write Fail]
4. Flashing of older Stock ROMs - Failed [NAND Write Fail]
- also gathered info : You can not downgrade since Kitkat Bootloader wont allow.
5. With ONLY Download mode accessible,
- Not a single tar was successfully Flashed onto device.
- All recovery tar files fail to flash [NAND Write Fail]
Conclusion to Discuss with Experts :
1. Write to NAND memory is being blocked by something [Boot Loader ? ]
2. NAND memory itself is damaged.
- Unlikely seeing the wide scale of this problem.
3. Why is Download mode accessible,
and what causes a flash-second opening into Recovery mode... then Reboot.
4. What role has KNOX to play here [Trying to root tampered with WHAT PART OF KNOX Rule] ?
5. What do we know about bootloader in this context ?
thanks for opening this thread.
I have the same problem with my M480W.
However I am able to enter recovery mode, yet nothing works ...
Code:
E: failed to mount / system (Invalid argument)
can't mount '/system' (invalid argument)
E: failed to mount / system (Invalid argument)
E: File Open error '/cache/recovery/log'
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: File Open error '/cache/recovery/last_log'
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: File Open error '/cache/recovery/last_install;'
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
I havent yet tried to repartition, cause I cannot find the correct pit file for my model.

PIT Has not solved this problem on any device i know...
Per my knowledge from various posts, they all ended up finally making it a 'Paper Weight' .
Has anyone found a solution?
