Hi all,
I have installed HyperNonSense ICS rom, since original rom have no HTC FM radio, so I copy one from HTC stock rom, it works, but when I tune radio to a stereo channel, it should have stereo effect, but in HyperNonSense rom, no matter I switch it to mono or stereo, same output, flash back to stock rom, I can hear stereo effect program.
Does there have any difference between HyperNonSense and stock ROM on audio processing? Maybe HyperNonSense not recognized the audio streams from HTC FM radio apk, it treat them as one mono data, any solution on this problem?
Since there have no third-party FM radio apk can work on sensation, so we had to try to using HTC stock FM radio.
I'd check with the developer on this one, because I know with hypernonsense, it is stripped very heavily of HTC apps and files to speed up the Rom and decrease Rom size. So chances are, the part the HTC fm radio needs isn't actually part of the Rom anymore.

I have tried Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.0 just now, same problem.
It seem that stock ICS also have no stereo output in FM radio, through there have a monp/stereo setting in FM radio apk.
Who still using android 2.3 stock version, could you please help to check if this problem still exist in that version
how i install htcfmradio apk file
thx
need radio that can tune frequency and spirit don't work
Spirit FM radio works for me, it has a good stereo performance, but another app output audio, you have to restart this app to get radio works

Any ROM based on GB worked great when streaming music or phone functions in my car. However, I've tried 3 different ICS ROMs and they all have the same problem. The phone and the car seem to pair just fine but when music starts to play I here a blip, three seconds of nothing, then another blip of music, repeat over and over. The text isn't coming over to the radio either like 2.3.6 did.
Is this a Kernel problem or just ICS in general? Currently I'm using Superlite 5.1 and mohan_kr kernel.
Could anyone shed some light on this for me?
Streaming music via bluetooth works fine for me on ICS...
Could you share which ROM and kernel you're using? Thanks for the reply
Bluetooth works fine for me pre beats audio.
Have not tried post beats audio yet
i am having the same exact problem as the OP

works for me after applying beats.
I was having a similar issue on MHX ICS superlite 5.0 rom. I have a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH headunit, and on ICS it would pair just fine but not send any text over. It would just say "No data provided" on the receiver.
I went back to 2.3.6 because of this and some other big issues I was having with ICS.
Hopefully this is fixed in the final build.
What music player are you using? For me, bluetooth performance took a major step up after installing ics. I can actually turn bluetooth off and on without it totally bugging out on me, and the sound quality increased a lot too.
I had no problems on UCLCA but the newer leak crashes with bluetooth for me.
Edit: I've tried both Sky ICS and NexusMOD UCLD2 versions and had same issue with both. Bluetooth crashes/buzzes/loses connection whenever I try connecting to my JVC Car stereo.
ucld2 has fixed everything for me. Even Google Music plays great and displays the track info on external displays.
I should add that I'm using ics ucld2 embryo-2.0 ROM and everything is working great.
Same issue here. I also noticed if i cleared cache and dalvik it would work until i went to another app or made a call.

FM radio tuner (not streaming) doesn't seem to come with any ICS ROMs I've tried including my current and fave OpenSensation.
Is there another way to get FM radio OTA?
What's the best equalizer for this phone? I was trying to use viper4android but it messed up the speakers on my phone (don't really know how though...)
Just turn off speaker eq in Viper

Any new ideas for the best systemwide EQ? I use Google Play Music All Access and I'd like to have some control. I am s-off rooted on a stock rom.
What's wrong with BoomSound?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Free mobile app
...it's not an equalizer? On the One M8 you don't get the EQ settings that are built in to Google Play Music (at least from my experience), I assume because of having Boom Sound (whether or not its enabled).
There's no equalizer on board. You have the option to toggle Boomsound audio on or off with the headphones on. You cannot disable the feature when playing through the speakers.
Strangely enough only one of the HTC One (M8) units we got to play with turned out to have a built-in FM radio. The European version comes with an FM Radio receiver and an FM radio preinstalled, while the Verizon unit lacked an app. It's anyone's guess whether the hardware is still there and has been disabled (meaning that it can be unlocked with some sort of mod) or if it's gone altogether.
It's not anyone's guess - the hardware is there, and you can sideload the app (I have it on mine, works perfectly). No root needed, just install the APK.
