I am having trouble finding answer to my query...
Would you please tell my if there is a solution for use of 3g dongle on TF101 with ICS as it was possible with Honeycomb?
I remember there was need to put huawei drivers to kernel (there was script for that) and 3g enabler prepared by Gnufabio (Revolver Dev).
As my newbe knowledge in linux based systems tells me - it propably will not be good to use the same script on ICS kernel which was written for Honeycomb kernel... or am i wrong?
Or maybe it worked for someone?
thanks very much for answer.
I've been having the same thought on my mind too; but apparently, to enable the 3G, one must flash the 3G bootloader to the Wifi pad. And bake new libs. And kill kittens. etc. I still have the e1750 dongle with customized firmware laying around (it also has custom VendorID, dammit), waiting patiently for a solution.
Ok, thanks very much, will wait for solution then also...
What was concerning, that gnufabio in revolver ics thread left the guide link to the HC dongle enable tutorial. That is why i raised my question

Hi guys. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong secction. I saw that Acer Iconia guys can use 3g dongles via some mods. Here's the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14603952
Just wondering if any of the talented devs around here can make this too on the Xoom?
Thanks!
This looks cool. I have a Huawei dongle... have you tried this procedure?
This is interesting, sadly i don't have root to test it, but this could be reason to root...
ok I've tried but it doesn't work seems to be related with option.ko and usb_wwan.ko not compiled for kernel version 2.6.36.4 but 2.6.36.3
do you know if any devs are looking in to this?
Somebody knows , when someone will compile this module to current kernel version of XOOM???
Hello all,
i got Xoom as a gift without it's package - just tablet and power supply, so i do not know which version of Xoom i really have (US, EURO, 3G, 4G, Wifi only...).
Currently, there is HoneyComb 3.1 on it, and i would like to upgrade it to 3.2, but i do not know which version of ROM to use, would definitelly like to avoid bricking the device.
What i know about the device is that Windows recognizes it as MZ601 device, more info is also in attached screenshot.
Now, regarding potential ROM-s, i have an eye on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242524
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278214
Can someone tell me based on "MZ601" which device i have (Would presume US Wifi only) and would it be safe to flash either one of the roms stated above?
Many thanks
MJ

I Googled MZ601 and it appears to be a non-U.S. 3G/wifi Xoom. Nice gift!
Make sure you use only files that are made to work with your version of the Xoom.
The Universal Xoom Root method should work fine and you could also flash the Tiamat Moray Rom. I'm not certain if you can go directly from HC 3.1 to Moray 2.2.1, though. Maybe you can find the answer in the Xoom Heaven thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1209341
Hmmm, thanks for pointers, will give it a try
I have a European 3G Xoom, which ICS version shall I flash, if I'd like to get some 4.0 fun? I know that 3G won't work, but I don't want to brick my Xoom, better ask before.

I have a US 3G XOOM that hasn't been upgraded to 4G and I flashed the 4G ROM which caused an issue with the radio staying awake non stop searching for a signal. This ate battery like crazy. The EOS dev suggested that I flash the WiFi version of the ROM and it worked like a charm. That is, of course, if you don't use your 3G and run WiFi only all the time like I do. Otherwise, you're out of luck for now until someone cooks up a ROM specifically for 3G devices. Also, you need to make sure it would even work for non US XOOMs first, obviously.
I'm not sure if the devs even read this section, but if you don't get an answer from one here, you should PM them or ask in one of their threads. They've been very helpful to me and answered every question I needed help with. I hope you get it worked out. It's an excellent ROM.
Thanks, I was thinking about trying the wifi version. But I better ask before. I had some bad luck recently flashing 4.0 on my Nexus S. So I prefer asking before doing.
I have been running the EOS wingray rom and so far everything is stable and working except the faceunlock and silly faces effect. Check it out.
this Rom is realy good but you need fastboot to install it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443220
and you have to use a alternate recovery.img,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074979
zip the universal xoom root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
and zip the G-Apps (if you want to use the Market and other Google Apps)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400958
It runs on my 601 like Hell
I flashed ICS (WiFi only) on my MZ601. While all run wells, I am unable to go back to Honeycomb. My tablet model (in About Tablet) is now Xoom instead of MZ601. Unable to flash the system.img file using Fastboot.
So in case you'd like to go back to Honeycomb to collect an OTA update to ICS, it might be an issue.
It has arrived ... work VERY well.

Running the ICS build but can't seem to play any videos correctly....
The rom from Team EOS ins great, i flashed it yesterday as well and it is really fast...

It's quite same like Acer A500
for 3.2 there is no really simple way, but this is not that bad eather, here is what I did:
1) donwgrade using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276227 (edit: or maybe this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307539 I dont remember, only neded think there is, that you need to add something at some point in front of the serial)
but with EUUs_PB_G100W_1.007.03_COM_GEN1 from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878
(well...its just download PC drivers from PB site, enable usb something (debugging or waht?) in tablet, find out serial number, run euu)
2) root it using iconiaroot
3) install CWM and flash whatever ROM you like, I used Taboonay 2.2
edit: I used taboonay cause my Huawei 3g dongle works with it
Hi there,
i was wondering if there are any new methods to root a Packard Bell Liberty Tab?
Also i wanted to tell you guys, that you can download the source code of both kernel (Honeycomb 3.0 and 3.2) on the support page from packard bell.
Maybe someone can use that for recovery.
Also i wanted to ask you guys, which ROM is the best for the Liberty Tab (maybe with support for Keyboard which works via a Bluetooth dongle)?
Hopfully someone will answer me
Thanks in advance

I`m quite happy there is a forum for liberty tab on xda

I've searched Google countless hours coming to dead link after dead link in attempt to find a working download for Android Revolutions HD 2.3.2. As far as I'm aware 2.3.2 is the last version that had the capability to overclock the CPU. I tried the later ICS version but found I didn't like the interface nor it's performance on the TF101 in comparison to 2.3.2
Anyone know where I can download 2.3.2? Mike1986 should keep all old roms available for download because unfortunately devices fail.

If you have asked mike already and told you no I doubt anyone else has one... That's why you back up ROMs to the PC and as for keep backups of old files it takes a lot of space and he manages several devices... You can try looking on tablet forums if you haven't check already but that's a older rom ... Your bound to run into problems
Not being rude just saying
Samsung Galaxy S3
AOKP 4.2.2 by Task650
Ktoonz Kernel w/KingBeatz
ASUS TF101
A.R.H.D ICS 3.6
Harmony Kernel w/KingBeatz
If you want to overclock, use 3.5 or 3.6 and run a custom kernel like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693799
Or this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565519
Step 1 Flash it in recovery
Step 2 wipe cache and Davlik
Step 3 Profit
I'll check if I have it on my tablet's microSD, I save all rom downloads... brb
EDIT: Sorry, the earliest version I have is 3.2.1, I recommend using a kernel as Fred suggested^^
Oops.. no delete button :\
Thanks
Thanks to those who replied. Your responses helped me to figure out what to do. I ended up spending much of the day catching up because I couldn't find the Harmony Kernel. I ended up getting aggravated and decided to use RaymondFX JellyBean AOSP 5.1.0 which includes the Harmony Kernel modded for JellyBean. Frederuco thanks for suggesting the Harmony Kernel, that actually got me on the right track to a suitable solution. The instigator of this whole mess, was I couldn't get a Bluetooth keyboard to function with 3.2.3. It'd connect but even after purchasing a high rated bluetooth app, I was unable to type a word with it. Then Google uploader or whatever it was quit functioning, I couldn't upload anything. I figured a reinstall of 3.2.3 would solve but finding it to download turned into a nightmare.
