Hello. I have Amazon Kindle Fire running Android 4.0.3 and my problem with 4.0 is the status bar in the bottom doesn't disappear while running full screen app even though I checked the option "Allow combined bar to hide when showing a full screen app" in CM9 setting! well KF display is very wide and the bar makes it wider, and it also really bothers me when I'm watching a video or playing a game! so this is my question any idea how to get rid of this thing? I know there is an option to do that on CM7 and I think this should be possible?

Anyone know how to hide the notification bar? When I'm using apps I don't want to see the notification/status bar, as I want to utilize the full screen.
So no way to accomplish this?

I am a "noob", but my experience with the TF is that the notification bar is not part of the viewing screen. I could be way off base here.
Using the Gallery app the notification bar remains, but the icons are dimmed (small dots), touching the area and they appear. . Using Moboplayer the notification bar icons remain bright.
Give it a try and you'll see what I mean
i like to too. i hate that frikken white they used for the nav buttons. stock would have been better. the white is so damn annoying when reading or watching movies (i use mobo so it doesn't hide).
i have tried modaco's rom but since it's the ww version some apps don't show up.
People... sometimes I miss all the 4.7 screen for games or reading. Then I thought about an easy way to turn the notification and status bar on and off at my will, not needing to reboot the phone or mess with the build.prop everytime.
My phone is the xt925 and I use ICS 4.0.4 Retail Brazil rooted.
All you need are two programs (they are paid and totally worth the money) + ROOT (rooting is very important for them to work). Of course you can try other programs. I´m not advertising. I´m just giving an idea.
Download 'GMD hide bar' to have control over the notification and status bar at your will. And also download 'Virtual Button Bar' to replace the notification bars.
When I want to read my ebooks or play some games I use these 2 programs and they always work pretty well.
Also, Virtual Button Bar has a really nice function that is: The button controls stay hidden on the position you want of the screen and then, if you just pass your finger in front of the light sensor (don´t even need to touch the screen), they appear.
Its really convenient and awesome!
Hope you enjoy!

I tried GMD Hide Bar on my Maxx HD running JB (4.1.1) but every time it hid the Navigation Bar on the bottom it also hid the Status Bar on the top. I've found several apps that'll hide them both but no app that'd hide the bottom bar and NOT the top bar. I assume that the reason these apps are set up like this is that in tablets running JB the two sets of functions are BOTH in the bottom bar, not in two separate bars. Have you been able to get GMD Hide Bar to hide the Navigation Bar and not the Status Bar?
Just upgraded to Razr Maxx HD running JB (4.1.1). I'm a Button Savior guy (soft keys) so I have no use for the space-wasting navigation bar that spans the bottom of the screen. I can't find a way to disable it. I've read LOTS of entries on the subject but haven't found the right solution. I tried modifying build.prop with qemu.hw.mainkeys=1. That worked, sort of (left the very bottom of the screen blank and unusable) but generated lots of those System UI (or whatever it is) error messages. I installed a couple of different apps that are supposed to make the Navigation Bar disappear (NavBar and FullScreenToggle, for instance) but all that does is make the same build.prop entry, which generates the same error messages. One app hid the Navigation Bar but kept the space it took up blank. What's the point of THAT? I read that CM10.1 and ParanoidAndroid have a control to hide the Navigation Bar, and I don't mind flashing a new ROM, but the custom JB ROMs seem to still have bugs in areas that would be a problem for me (BT, wi-fi tether, camera).
So -- I can't find a solution. I believed I've searched pretty thoroughly but hopefully I've overlooked something. My Maxx HD is rooted, of course (w/Safestrap), and running the stock ROM. I love the phone. Just want to be able to hide/disable the Navigation Bar and have full use of the space it takes up.
wrong forum bro
Why? Because it's a Maxx HD? Won't apps, tweaks and ROMs work the same way on all the Razrs?
Bump for you because I'm in the same boat. I have my other cm rom tweaked perfectly but it's not a daily driver because of camera and tether.
Ideally it would be a solution for rooted stock rom

My RAZR HD is on JB 4.1.2 and I managed to hide the Navbar with qemu.hw.mainkeys=1. I used to get SystemUI crashes on ICS, but since JB no crash whatsoever.
If qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 worked for me (without FCs) I'd be done. All I want to do is disable the Navigation Bar. I don't want to hide the System (Notification) Bar. I don't need to toggle the Nav Bar on and off. I just want to be able to use my full screen. I have to say, Goggle putting out JB for smartphones with a bar on top and another bar on the bottom seems stupid. They consolidate the bars on the larger screens, not on the smaller screens.
Is your HD on the stock ROM? How did you get 4.1.2? I'm still on 4.1.1 and my system says it's up to date.
Only in video apps like Hulu and YouTube do I see this come up. It seems like it has to do with the status bar, but not sure what's causing it. Thanks in advance. This is on a Droid MAXX XT1080.
Edit: Well, it doesn't seem to show up when uploaded, but basically the top of the screen gets a transparent bar over it in a shape exactly like the status bar as far as height and width.
Hi guys, upgraded to android 9 today. Seems to be a bug with the navigation bar not hiding automatically. For example when watching a video online it will get in the way of the screen when in full screen mode.
I've attached a screenshot. Is there any way to get this to work?
Thanks
I have a threat about it here:
