Petition to help third party development achieve full potential of purchased devices. - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

Guys,
I think we all need to sign this petition as this would really help our cause and help our developers and ultimately us all.
It's a petition for samsung mobile to release all the drivers libraries, source headers, etc. which i believe will help the developers a LOT!
And with the drivers, we are sure we can work up on the ICS build soon too
One can dream, can't he?
So lets work up on this and help us all realise this dream

I don't think that it will help us, but I'm sign it

Android on Non-HTC Devices?

Before anyone comments, Yes. I *know* this forum is primarily for HTC devices.
Anyway, does anyone know if there are any projects going for getting Android running on Non-HTC devices? Specifically, Acer or Eten devices? I've got a bunch of devices here (see my sig), that I'd LOVE to get it running on, but don't have a clue where to start, nor the skills necessary to write drivers for them...
Motorola and Samsung are the manufaturers that spring to mind. There's the Samsung Galaxy and Motorola have just made an announcement which Orange will be carrying sometime in October.

Yeah, I know that; but what I was asking was if anyone knows of any projects to get Android ported to existing non-HTC devices, such as the projects for the HTC Vogue and Kaiser...
Sure, i780 and omnia can run android. No audio and microphone yet.. but you can send sms, navigate into menu, use wifi, install apps etc

Some folks over at modaco.com are porting android for the Samsung Omnia. I think they also have a thread in the dev/hacking section.

Samsung Accliam Coming Have questions

I know everyone at XDA is extremely knowledgable and are also very friendly and helpful. First, thank you for that, you have made my windows mobile experience amazing. Secondly, I know this is predominantly a GSM forum, however I have some questions reguarding CDMA version of a phone that is coming to the carrier I work for. US Cellular is bringing out their first Android phones, one in the next few weeks, the next in september-ish. Now, good news for anyone with US Cellular, because the Samsung Acclaim is a 2.1 device with 3.2 inch capacative OLED screen, 800MHZ Proccessor, full qwerty PHYSICAL keyboard, and a suite of US Cellular new goodies. Now, heres where I need your help XDA members.
I want to root the device, and I want to make a custom 2.2 rom for the phone. Where do I start? I would like to read up on porting the firmware and all that jazz in the next few weeks here. What do I need to know about rooting? Do I need a Kitchen like WinMo phones? or do I need to use the Android SDK to build an update.zip for it?
please oh please help me with this information. US Cellular doesn't have a lot of support, and I would like my fellow USCCers to have an option for 2.2 ASAP.
Thank you in advance my friends.

Thinkflood redeye mini

Has anyone hacked this app to see if it will work on the G tablet or know if an android version will be released?
Thanks
Well, here's an email from their customer service.
Hi,
Thanks for your email and your interest in RedEye. We do not have the Android version developed yet, but we're beginning development for that OS at the start of the new year. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Porting Android on Wave 525[Help]

Hello,
I am a user of Wave 525 and we are working on a mod called Melior for it.Its first version is going to release within a week but I have a different plan for future.Seeing Galaxy Y running some crazy cool games,I thought if my Wave could also do such things. The problem is that our community doesn't have experts who can port android. My team contains some mid level devs and we are trying to port android but the problem is we don't know what we should do to begin with the project.
I want some experts to help and guide us in the way of porting android. We would really appreciate any type of help from this community..Wave 525's processor speed is unknown till now but it is expected to be around 350-500MHz,some sources claim 500 and some claim 312 etc.Its internal memory is 283MB.All the specs of the phone is more than many android devices like Spice MI270 etc.
Please help us in this project and guide us the way that we should follow..

[Useless] Best smart phone for porting MaruOS? (And how to start)

Hi,
I am due to purchase new smartphone and interested in Maru OS. Most probably I am looking at devices from Xiaomi, Innjoo or Oppo (due to spec-to-cost ratio) depending how much friendly it is for porting Maru OS.
1) Can anyone advise which will be the best device for this purpose? I understand major problem will come due to non-availability / locked bootlooders, drivers and working kernel.
2) Also, I am not experienced in mobile development and not a pro/full-time programmer (but can learn as I have been using Gentoo and Arch Linux, plus studied programming during school days), if anyone experienced can help me in getting started, it will be a good start for me.
Thank you.
EDIT:
Marked 'Useless' ... thanks to everyone for not responding.
^bump
If no one is interested in responding to OP, can anyone point me to how to extract device drivers from stock ROM for use with custom ROM I intend to compile? [I mean use working ROM as a base then customize it for Maru OS adoption].
