Hi All,
I am suffering an issue with my Desire S. The other party hears himself with a delay during phone calls.
I am on the latest update: RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8 and Unlocked by htcdev and rooted with SuperOneClick
I also noted that sometimes I also hear strange loud pops during calls especially when I have WI-fi on and downloading something off the internet.
What could be the problem? I have a TPS Gel case which I had removed but to no avail.
I know it will sound weird, but do you have a protective case on your phone? If you do try placing a call without the case and tell me if you have the echo.

Was this issue ever solved for you? I'm facing the same issue.
I updated my ROM to CM11 and currently to Moke 4.4.4 which did not solve the issue.
This can be a problem from Network Provider also...
Please change your Sim Card and then try once again.

Hi, I got this problem that my phone sometimes outputs strange noise instead of the other's voice when on a call. It has happened with outgoing and ingoing calls. Right now I use official Cyanogenmod 10.1 ROM but it has happened before with others.
Has anyone else this issue as well? Can anyone help?
Maybe I'll try putting it on the speaker and see if it's still broken. And switch back and see if it's still broken then.
Thanks guys.

I have experienced that before as well. Good question on changing audio outputs to see if that resets it!
hi guys i've tried to search the forum but haven't found anything...
since yesterday my phone has started to reproduce audio/sounds in a strange way; they are metallic/scratched like. the problem is for system sounds and for anything reproduced (youtube/spotify/...)
when I make phone calls i can hear correctly.
anyone has ever heard about this kind of problem?
the phone is fully stock and has been bought in august...
thanks for helping
Do you solve it?
I have the same problem, sometimes the audio sound scratched, in little parts ,unintelligible sometimes I solve with the putting 3/4 times the audio jack usbC sometimes restarting, and sometimes repair by it self. I don't understand how this happen and how to solve it. Restarting /formating resolve partially, and the problem appear again.
Hi,
I faced similar issue too. But as a different an addition, my phone has same noise on voice calls too. The noise on phone calls disappear when I used earphone instead ear speaker.
The metalic noise is starts when I touch an icon on the screen in order to start an application. It's vanish when the application starts properly.
Is there anyone faced this issue too?

in my case not work headphones. After i change Miui and install Kali linux and back my headphones dosnt work with any headphones.
Finally I noticed by accident (in my case) the problem solve when I push not so hard the upper left corner, and this solution fix instantly the audio issue, and last many months until I put the smartphone in stretchy jeans pockets. That mean maybe it’s bending and moving inside parts or maybe the previous user of my phone dropped (cause i buyed used) or I dropped (I don’t remember phone hard drops) . In this time I don’t want spent money fixing this, so I still using fixing in this way. I love this phone
I have exactly the same problem. I already tried to out a replacement speaker in the Mi Mix 2s but that didn't solve the issue. The problem comes from another component. Have you figured out which component this causes?
My root cause is also unknown but might be that the phone dropped.

What I tried so far.
1. Set phone to factory settings
2. Installed different ROM (Lineage OS 17.1)
3. Replacement speaker.
None of this helped. What I'm wondering is, that everything else works fine. Only sound output is distorted.
Can you help me with that?
can some one help me with a xiaomi mix 2s audio problem audio doesnt work and even with bluetooth devices im not sure if its a software problem
or a hardware
I got my phone on Friday and upgraded it to Andriod 10 this morning, so I didn't have a chance to test if this was also an issue for Android 9. However, when I tried to make a call this afternoon, the other side can no longer hear me, while I can hear the other side just fine.
I tried switching some settings while calling and switching Speaker to be on is enough to get microphone back, then I can switch speaker back to off and use it normally. Rebooting the phone will cause the issue to reappear.
Trying to see if any of you are having the same issue.
I have the exact same issue. The mic works after I toggle the speaker, but another issue happens in subsequent calls... sound no longer comes out of the earpiece, only through the bottom speaker. It's such a bizarre bug.
My microphone works but my headphones don't work (no sound) when plugged into 3.5mm jack. Needed to talk via speakerphone or earpiece.
Seems they didn't fully test their calling on this first patch?
Music via 3.5mm works.
WW_17.1810.1910.68 seems to have fixed my issues.

With the 3.5mm audio call issue only I assume?

Toggling the speakerphone seems to fix the audio coming out of the bottom speaker. A fix for the fix?
Is there any fix for this issue? I am facing the same problem, the phone speaker and microphone will not work during the call and playing music, but works fine if I toggle to speaker mode. Music is a problem, but works fine with headphone. Very strange.
I am running into same issue on Android 10 with latest updates. Toggling the speakerphone one and off fixes the problem for a while and the it comes back on. Third party VOIPs make calls with no issues.
Looking at Asus official forums - you can see the problem reported on a variety of models and I don't see a resolution anywhere. I got a bad feeling about this...

Interesting - I'm on Mint Mobile which operates on the T-Mobile network. So maybe this affects me and their solution will address my issue. Thank you.
Having the same microphone problems on T-Mobile as well
Sent from my ASUS_I01WDX using Tapatalk
I fixed it

By uninstalling what application did you fix it?
Hello everybody.
I am facing issues while trying to be on speaker mode while speaking during a phone call - The other side cannot hear me well (the call becomes fragmented)and I have to turn off the speaker mode in order to continue the call.I saw that a lot of people faced the same issue but did not see any good solution- I already wiped the cache partition but it did not help.My phone is software updated, too.
Does anybody have any idea how to solve it?
Thanks in advance,
Eran
Permissions issue (audio/ mic etc)?
Or else clean reflash software again.

It is an unlocked u.s.model.I do not intend to root the phone.I understand it is a common problem with note 20 ultra and I am looking for solutions since I am not the only one facing this problem.
Thanks anyway.
Eran
Try cleaning both the speaker grill and microphone holes with a small USB electronics vacuum. It could be dust and debris build up.
Does anyone have call issues ?
During a standard voice call, i can hear the opposite side crystal clear, but the people i call are constantly complaining, that they can't hear me. I switched phone with some people, and when they speak from my S22Ultra (Exynos EU model) there is lot of silence gaps, and the voice sounds robotic and disrupted. Even under full GSM sognal coverage.
April update installed, disabling VOLTE make it better but still messy, WiFi call disabled, Factory reset di not helped, new sim card installed without success, Provider check pointing on Device problem...
What can i do further except throwing the phone against the wall ?
I have the same issue... Gets worst on loud speaker.
Same issue here.i read it in samsung member forum someone talked to samsung about it and they aware of the issue they also planning fix it within the next update which is due next week (he claimed)..
The same thing happens to me, I also lose coverage completely and mobile data. Samsung has disappointed me.
I attach some photos with the coverage problems. Without moving from the same place it changes a lot.
Got the same problem. Reception is worse than before and having silences awhile during the conversations. I can hear the other side but they can't hear me.

I've had a lot of delayed echoing when on speaker phone, makes it hard to use where voice is so delayed after I say something. Been dropping calls a bit more than usual too.
