[Q] Custom Kernel on sensation xe - HTC Sensation

Greetings,
I am new to this forum.
Can i install this custom kernel "v1.20 1782 MHz" on my sensation xe? my current android and sense version is "2.3.4" and "3.0". Plus i already rooted my device and got SuperCID as well for custom roms.
your comments will be appreciated
Thanks
Hani

The kernel is the SebastianFM latest version?
If so the OP states:
Especially for Android 4.0.3 Sense 3.6, 3.32.401.3.
You should look at Faux or Bricked for GB rooms.

3.32.401
now downloading darkforest sense 4 beta and it is problem to install faux kernel on this rom?
please can you send me a link of compatible faux sensation xe kernel so i can update it ...

Why do you want to update it if you don't know what it does?

InsertCoin + Faux kernel

Hi everyone,
As i am un junior member i can not post on developpers wall so i had something to tell badnews and faux.
I am running insertcoin, i tested the 2.3.4 version and 2.3.5 version.
I also tested faux kernel on both version of insercoint and it appears that faux kernel works properly on insercoint 2.3.4 stable version.
But there is a problem with 2.3.5 Insercoint version, incompatibiliy ou what ? i don't know ....
I can not run cpuspy on 2.3.5 insertcoin version. and at least i found 2.3.4 version a bit faster than 2.3.5.
So i decided to go back to insertcoin 2.3.4 version with faux kernel on it untill the incompatibility is fixed.
See you.
Seeing as how we don't even have kernel source for 2.3.4 yet, it's no surprise that 2.3.3 kernel source doesn't work for a 2.3.5 based rom. And since a sensation 2.3.5 rom isn't even official yet, you should be expecting a lot in incompatibility.

Hi geoffcorey, i saw that the lastest faux kernel are for 2.3.4 .... look at the details ! and it works great with 2.3.4 insertcoin version.
ok baad just post, the update for 2.3.5 and faux kernel 0.1 everything runs smooth, really fast...
don't understand why 2.3.5 version doesn't work as well as 2.3.4 for me. It's is not as fast as 2.3.4 for me.
Maybe i did something wrong then ?
Here is what i did.
I wipe all with a superwipe i found on leerdroid wall then i flashed with 2.3.5 insercoint and at least i instaled faux kernel. But it is not fluid, there is some little freeze in the carrousel ...
@velazkool : are you runing insertcoin rom ?
Someone can share the correct file if my leerdroid superwipe does not correspond ? thanks

They've been tweaked yo work with 2.3.4, but it's still built from 2.3.3 kernel source.

The Kernel will be included in the ROM you install (in the boot.img) of either a custom ROM or a stock ROM
When you install the rom you will install a new kernel!

Android Revolution HD 6.X.X were really great to me!, so 6.1.0 would be amazing.
This rom would be a great choice!.
Hello,
now I have ARHD 3.6.9 on my HTC Sensation, I would like to know if I wanna install ARHD 6.1.0 / firmware 3.24, I'll be able to install later ARHD 3.6.13 on new 3.24 firmware??
Thank you in advice !!!
If you do this you will probably get bootloops.
As far as I know, you would have to flash an older firmware, because the new one is only compatible with roms built for it (ARHD 6.1 for example).

3.12 is for the first lot of ICS roms, such as ARHD 6.0.X, IC etc.. 3.24 is for ARHD 6.1.X. For gingerbread roms and to get advanced fastboot commands you need 1.17 firmware.

so it is possible to make downgrade of firmware to be able to install/run ARHD 3.6.13 ??
Yes it is possible. Just flash the firmware you want.
I believe that the guide for that is in this thread:

I second that! Not sure if its as stable, but a naked Android is way sexier than clothed with sense.

No the 3.24 firmware only works with the latest release. If you try gingerbread with the 3.24 firmware you will boot loop.
blackICE4.2 best rom
This rom is the best so far I have tested.
Also it has the most beautiful theme..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231953
I second the nomination for Virtuous Inquisition 3.0.0
Amazingly stable, excellent battery life and looks very sexy in native ICS style

Kernels on 6.3.0 ARHD - 3.30 base

Hi people!
Can you tell me currently which kernels are compatible with the above mentioned ROM?
Or at this time the stock one is working properly (at least i read it that way somewhere in the threads).
ICS 4.03 / Sense 3.6
Thank you.
I used stock htc kernel and now im on SebastianFM 1.5 Ghz kernel, both are working prefectly, and normal battery life too.

Hi,
You need to run a RUU
Look HERE
Choose a Gingerbread RUU.
This will return your phone completely to stock.
You can then, re-install a custom recovery and flash a GB ROM
May I suggest ARHD
Look HERE

Don't go back to stock. If u want a stock look go for "Android Revolution HD" Rom. It has 100% stock look. much better than stock. It will converted your sensation to sensation XE with beats audio. Very fast & smooth. better batery life. very good for gaming!!
Download ARHD rom & flash it via CWM recovery. ARHD installer will ask you to flash a custom kernel or stock. Select custom kernal. after that select sebastian FM kernel or Faux kernel. I flashed sebastian. It's good for me.(because better battery life with good performance & features)
Install this ROM & check your benchmark scores.. Quadrant benchmark shows around 3800-4500.(on my device)
google a stock benchmark score screenshot of sensation. On stock Qudrant benchmark shows only about 2300.
It proves it's very performance than stock. Also on gaming.
press "thanks" if I helped U!!

Hi,
Arhd is ICS 3.6
You can go straight there from the ROM you are on.
Wipe fully before you change.

Hi,
You can still flash this ROM with your setup.
Make a nandroid.
You must wipe your phone in recovery.
Flash the stock kernel in the aroma setup
Wow guys thanks for all the help I just finished flashing and the speed difference is really noticeable I really appreciate all the help and I'm staying with this Rom for a long time.
Just one question before I run along and enjoy this rom, are the home button, option, back, and search buttons on the bottom suppose to always stay on?
