Spam messages in notification bar - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Anyway to figure out what program is responsible for these? Show up as a + in the notification bar. Current one says "Congrats On Your Prize. You have one new IPad 2....." anyone know??
Thanks

That's from a Push Notification... download "Addons Detector" free in Market... it will ID which app is responsible... so you can take action (i.e., delete it).

I downloaded addons detector and adaway. Havent had a + or a * since. Both are free.

App to hide certain data discretely (text, photographs, and email)

Hey guys, anyone aware of an app that I could activate via a screen gesture or combo of hardware keys/widget that will allow me to quickly do that gesture or button combo and will hide all of my texts, and emails, and photos?
On my jailbroken iphone I was able to use Activator and an app called HideEmAll from cydia to swipe over my notification bar and it would hide all of that data until I swiped again and entered my password. I haven't found anything similar for Android is anyone aware of such software or an alternative to doing what I am asking? It was also nice that it simply vibrated for a second so I knew it activated it but Noone else could tell anything happened.
Thanks

You should try app locker.
hmm well maybe not perfect but try hide it
aka audio manager http://www.appbrain.com/app/hide-it-pro/com.smartanuj.hideitpro
just found something called shady sms looks good for you and it had a list of in the description Blackbook, SPC, Blacklist, Redlist, My Calculator, Private SMS/MMS Box, Fox Private Message, Horizon, Locky, Hide Text & Call logs, Conspirator, or CATE Call and Text Eraser
good luck ^_^
Thanks for the suggestions friends. I have looked into both of those as well and do what I'm trying to do.
I think maybe there is not a very close app for what I'm wanting by the way of activating it discretely from the lock screen. ie. By way of screen gesture or hardware key combos. Or perhaps I should try the above suggestions in conjunction with widget locker. Hmm will try later today and report back!
Thanks again

[Q] Lost phone app that can hide itself?

Is there any apps that are like "wheres my droid" but able to hide themselves from the UI "i would assume its not possible to hide it 100%" since other tools can see the process. but like just to hide it from the average user?
You could run another launcher and hide it from the app drawer that way. I'd say most people around here customize their launchers anyway.

decent start, how would one go about hiding it from the built in uninstaller? if this is possible. the main concern is someone uninstalling it. the average user would just use the default installer/launcher hiding from those 2 specific thing would ensure a much higher success rate of recovery.
seekdroid, you can hide it from the website, after a reboot, it's gone, other than under uninstall. But it takes a couple steps to uninstall it.
thanks ill check it out.
works flawlessly and exactly what i needed. i sent a request asking for the hide feature to relabel the APK with a new icon and rename the process. that would ensure true stealth if the phone enters the wrong hands unless they perform a complete wipe.
Avast anti virus has the feature your looking for. Anti theft that hides itself. Its free in the play store.

I know you tried a detector. Did you try Airpush Detector? That one had never failed me.
Tried that one, shows nothing.

Bump, also getting same ad. Tried every detector out there... Not picking up a thing!
Can you show us a list of installed apps?

That's it... most of it are from legit companies or Google... no idea what this could be from!
Also, the ads are for apps from the playstore - "sexy cutie (live)" and "run run bear" (both of which appear to be made by the same developer).
Thanks for your help!
It may be widgetlocker, try to uninstall it and see if you get it again

Same here, intermittent but annoying.
choosing the notification takes you to the Google play app page
Edit:
Might be GoKeyboard, I think it started after i turned it on.

Sorry. Just looked at the pic. That it's not push.
Got rid of widgetlocker and it looks like it's stopped!
I paid for widgetlocker so this is ridiculous!

Are you sure? I have widget locker on my Droid x and my kindle fire and I don't get spam.
sexy cutie - spam
I don't have that widgetlocker, but I receive this spam,
Did anyone solve the issue??? I have uninstalled GO SMS Pro, but seems like something else making it appear in the notification bar...
Go to the Play Store and download Lookout's Ad Detector. It should scan your apps and tell you.

I am guessing the same, could be Go Launcher or Go Keyboard. Coz i also have them installed.
Absolutely Go Keyboard. I used Addons Detector - Notification Monitor, and it showed:
GO Keyboard
com.jb.gokeyboard
11:08 21 may 2012
The most beautiful girl is waiting for you to discover, come to play!
Too bad, now I have to delete all GO-stuff..
it's crazy. I have been using go-team apps for a long time and I had never thought that they can do such a thing. Thanks for that sad info

Ditto. I use Go-SMS as my texting app and used to use Go Launcher on my GS2.
It is the Go stuff eh?
Welp, Bye bye go... eat my ass.
Thanks guys.

[App][Share] AirPush Detector - Find apps which push ads to notification bar

If you're like me and absolutely HATE apps which push advertisements to the notification bar, this is the app for you.
AirPush Detector searches for these apps and displays a list. Selecting on the name of an app directly takes you to the uninstall window.
Simple and Useful.
Playstore link- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector&hl=en
I am in no way connected to the app and I'm just sharing it. Full credit to developer- Dan Bjorge
If you liked the app, just spare a second and press that thanks button.
Peace.
AirBlocker is a better app.
Can block ads, as the name implies.

Apps pop ups

Hi everyone ,
This is my first time here so hopefully I can get some help.
Every time I turn on my tab I get app pop ups on my home screen and also automatically apps are saving to my pages, I've gone through my settings and checked to see if I have anything turned on that shouldn't be, if someone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as it's really starting to annoy me.
Cheers Headman

It's a rogue app the causes that. It contains adware and spyware by changing your homepage (monitor what you search), constantly adds search icon on homescreen and comes up with annoying ads in both the notification bar and by pop ups.
Run this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector&hl=en
And remove those apps.

Agreed, my fiance had one in her phone and it would push notifications, pop-ups, all sorts of invasive stuff. I wanna say she used an app "installer" ( like the ones found in 4shared), which was what installed the "rouge" app.
