Hi all,
What are the requirements to use google wallet on your phone? I understand its an app which is downloaded but what spec do you need on your phone to use it?
Also I am in the UK and just wondering which shops people have seen the terminals in?
I know McDonalds have it but hardly eat there.
NFC and the Secure Element are the requirements.
I use the app PayPass Locator to find who accepts it. 400 retailers use it near me.

Thanks
Whats NFC? And is there somewhere I can go to find a list of phones that have these requirements?
Only a few phones support it...the GSII, Nexus, and a couple others. The NFC antenna is located in the battery too, so it's not something you can just activate with a custom ROM.
thanks guys.
my contract is coming to an end. just wondering whether its worth going for a handset with the antenna or is it just a gimmick?
my nexus s has Google wallet but its not yet supported in the UK

^ you need to download a version that doesn't check your location. I've read several people from the UK that use it.

Actually just read that the new google market that came out months ago had the music "feature" hidden within it. You can already purchase music now as of yesterday ..

Nah that is false, Google sent an OTA update yesterday and today to add functionality. Anyways, if you want the update clear your market cache and a new TOS will popup, accept it then you are good to go.
Mine just updated this morning.

Can someone please explain to me what ping is when I do a speed test! Should it be high or low!

Omg seriously? Google is your friend...actually it takes less time and effort to google for something rather than opening a thread and waiting for an answer, don't you think?
I am not sure but from my gaming friends they say lower is better because ping is time.

I agree with vnvman, this thread is useless. And please refrain from vulgarity, as children use this forum.
In answer to the question: ping is the amount of time it takes the server to respond to the requesting device... lower is obviously better. if you had a ping of 1000ms that would mean it took 1 second to transfer the request. You should get around 100-200ms ping on average when running speed tests over 3g. Less if on wifi.

vnvman is right.
Don't insult him because he pointed out your flaw.

This was very stupid thing to do to the milestone xt720 this still very active development.
Who did this a dumb as a monkey.
This has made decide to start moving of xda.form.

well.. hell go to xt720... but ms1?!
My biggest problem is that my XT720 forum subscriptions aren't displayed on usercp any more. (They do still work in the app, though). Thread subscriptions still work, but it's freaking annoying for keeping track of new threads.
Droid/Milestone A853 were also depreciated.
did you try unsubscribe then refresh and then subscribe again?
Not to be mean but if your pulling a motoroa on us I really wonder if xda forms is for me very soon going to sprint I don't believe I would stay here.

Yes, I've tried a few permutations of unsubscribing/resubscribing, logging out/in, refresh, browse around etc. Is it just me having this problem? The XDA app still lists them fine, it's just the usercp that's giving me trouble.
Nope not just you. The quicest way I've found, from the PC, is to type xt in the find your device field in the upper right of the screen
I've added this bookmark to my browser http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=929 but now I have two pages to monitor. It's workable but quite annoying.
I made a thread about the problem in the xda-developers.com forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554558
Since the marketplace is closing down, where is everyone going to trade/sell/buy their devices now? I know there's ebay, but I loved the reading aspect the marketplace had.

You posted the same question in the 'General' forum and had it answered ("ebay") and locked by a Mod - yet you thought it was a good idea to come in here and ask again? How long do you think this thread will last?

Your other identical thread was closed for being in the wrong section. I believe Q&A is the appropriate place for such a question so I'll let it go for now, but it will be closely monitored and may be closed.
Why not try Amazon or Sulit.com.ph?
