Silentmode wifi - Android Apps and Games

Hi,
Sometimes I forget to set my phone on silent. This is a bit of embarrassing when I have college. At my work and college I mostly connect to their wifi networks. So I was thinking of when I connect to these networks my phone goes automaticcaly to silentmode.
What I also could do is making a time schedule, but this is less convenient since my work schedule is not fixed.
If somebody has a really great app for this I would like to hear, because I tried some and they are not what I'm looking for
Thanks.

Tasker / Llama
This should be easy for Tasker.
Not sure, but maybe it could have been done also in Llama.

Need Help finding an App that I know exists...

I know this app is out there somewhere, but I'm unable to come up with the right search terms and I'm hoping that someone reading this thread will know what i'm talking about. So here goes:
I need a program that basically acts as a scheduler for which services will be turned on and off.
For instance, If I know that i walk to work between 7:30 - 8:00am, I'd like Bluetooth=On, Wifi=Off, Phone=On, etc. Once I get to work between 8 and 5, I might want this program to turn the bluetooth off, turn 3G data off, etc, but then once I get home turn wifi On, Bluetooth back on, etc etc. You get the idea. Basically a program that I schedule when certain connections should be available, which is really just a way to conserve maximum battery power. I saw a program that did exactly this during the waiting for the fuze to come out, but I must have forgotten to bookmark that page.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Hi,
You could try Communication Manager Pro (shareware). It can be found here http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/Communication-Manager-Pro-CommMgrPro-37327.shtml
I tried the previous version 2.3 and it had some issues with randomly disconnecting bluetooth so for me it wasn't a keeper. Maybe current version has this bug ironed out.

Check out SPB Phone Suite, it has a lot of scheduling features for com and sound settings
I use SPB Phone Suite, and it works as a dream.
You can also set a profile that is linked to your calendar, so you can make the phone silent when in a meeting.
It also support hardware-triggers, like turning on a profile when charging, another when headset is connected and so on.
Thanks for the replies gents. I think SQB might have been the one I'm thinking of. If there are others people use, keep them coming. If there's a free tool that will do this, even better, but i suppose $20 might be reasonable depending on what else the software does. I'll check it out.
There is a free tool: WirelessTime.

REQ: Automagically change volume

Hi,
Anyone know of an app that will help me automagically change volume depending on time of day? I'm in the situation where I need to have a low volume when at work, but I need it to be louder when in my pocket - or somewhere in my house...
Cheers!
That would be interesting.. Im in the same situation..
Just having my phone on vibrate works wonders
Might have to make my own util if nothing exists. Can't believe we're the only two users in the world who needs this
Great software is CT Scheduler, google it.
Sorry for my English.
I found an app yesterday "LocationAware". It suppose to set your (volume/vibro/silent) mode base on your GPS location. Haven't got a chance to test it yet. Let me know if it works.
phoneAlarm (http://www.pocketmax.net)
you can set different profiles -- home, work, meeting, night, etc...
and have them automatically switch based on time, location, connection, etc...
awesome app I highly recommend to anyone, I can't live without it
Thanks guys! Going to have to look at some of these

Nice1, thanks bud Looks interesting.. Just checking it now
You can also use G-profile (5 euro) it can change it based on time. And also based on gsm mast location (wich doesn't bring any datacots). And lots of other options.

G-Profile
0.7.5 4 free and 1.1 4 money...
best profilechooser you can take. also timebased and/or programmbased...

It doesn't use GPS it uses cell tower triangulation from what I remember reading. GPS would put a large strain in the battery if it was always running.
Yeah, I'm leaning toward g-Profile. The most important reason for me is the identification of gsm masts (sp?)

Keep WIFI ON during sleep via email check interval?

Hello,
I understand that WP7 turns off WIFI when the screen is locked/phone goes to sleep.
I believe that Microsoft should provide an option where the user (paying money for the device and expecting some options) is given the option to set WIFI to always ON, but it seems Microsoft is not of that opinion despite many users complaining.
Anyway, here's what I'd like to know:
If one sets one of his email accounts to check every 15 minutes while Cellular Data is turned OFF and WIFI is turned ON, does phone turn WIFI ON during sleep every 15 minutes to check the email account or does it default to the 2-hour wake-up/check?
Thanks for your answers in advance.
No answer? Bump
simple:
put phone to sleep, send yourself email, wait 15min ...
but to awnser your question: no
and yea it sucks
keep the screen on or make sure to check from time to time...

I live in Canada so cannot download Spotify, but will test with Skype although if it actually worked, the forums would have been filled with this solution.
Here's a trick: http://mobilitydigest.com/wp-tips-tricks-keep-wifi-running-all-the-time/
Thank Jim for finding it and myself for sharing it!

[Q] Llama Nlpwakelock

Hi all,
Interesting problem I have with llama. Getting Nlpwakelocks as shown in the screenshot.
I've set work and home, and the wakelock was happening at work. My work setting is only to disable GPS, Enable mobile data and disable WiFi if not connected. Any ideas about why llama is causing this? I've seen Nlpwakelocks else where but not under the Llama app.
Regards,
John
How is llama set to know you're at work? If you've used location, you will get wakelocks

Currently I'm using the Map addon for Llama. Previously on another ROM I hadn't tried it and wasn't getting this issue. Will remove the addon and post results tomorrow.
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
John
Yeah because llama needs to check if you're in a location so uses location services (nlp) to do so.

There are usually better ways to go about doing what you want to do. I use Tasker for it, but I have Tasker profiles run based on time and day. Times when I should be at work, Tasker checks if I'm connected to the home wifi. If I am not, then it does all the things. If I am still connected to the home wifi when I should be at work, I must be at home, so the profile aborts.
This profile uses time and wifi connection status to determine my location.
Of course, this may not be possible for your job. But there is usually more than one way to solve a problem.

Seems pretty logical to me. If this doesn't work out I'll find better ways to control the functions.

John
Well seems at work there is no problems with llama wakelocking at all. Obviously the NLP from location based tracking was the problem as you stated. I think tasked would be more appropriate for my usage, so I'll give it a try tonight.

Automate hotspot

hi guys,
I hope I'm posting this in the right section.
does anyone know if it is possible to automate the hotspot of my OnePlus 8 when connected to my Bluetooth carkit.
it would be a very nice option.
tasker is not working, I tried working with the developer but we could not manage to get it working.
and suggestion are very welcome!
thanks in advance.
best regards!
Have you tried an app called Automate from LlamaLab? I use it to send an email when I get an SMS and set the phone to divert when it connects to my home wifi. It seems quite versatile, although I haven't tried what you want specifically.
There's also an app called "AutomateIT" which I have used but I prefer Automate.

Thanks, I will try these!
From what I have read NO tasker apps will turn on the Wifi hotspot with the One Series 8 Phone. Certainly Macrodroid and the Hyundai app do not work with this function.
