[Q] [HOW-TO] - Accept/Decline incomming call - HTC Sensation

Dear all,
I, maybe, have a stupid question but not able to find out the solution !
I am wondering how to change the HTC Sense default ring to accept/decline an incoming call when phone is locked or in deep sleep mode.
I find this not very user friendly to move the bubble "Accept" or "Decline" into the big ring ... I am expecting for a slider or a simple button....
Does anyone know how to modify this feature ?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Nino

There are custom ROMs where you can revert the lock screen back to the default Android lock screen, but even then you will have to unlock via a slide then accept the call by hitting a button. Custom ROMs also allow you to decline a call by pressing a volume button.
Most touchscreen smartphones don't have a simple push-button to answer or decline calls, as a single touch can be incidental and thus happen in your pocket.
Note, however, that you can either move "Accept" or "Decline" into the big ring OR move the big ring to "Accept" or "Decline."

Also if you press volume down (probably up works as well but it's what I'm used to from a previous phone) it will silence the ringing/vibration without even having to take it out of your pocket.

I either use one of the volume buttons, or the power button.

Thanks for your feedback.
I am, currently, using Elegencia ICS Rom for Sensation.
I will try to use vol up and down.
However, I was expecting a nice UI to accept/decline incoming call like the iPhone one !

Nino

Call Status Screen

Is it possible to disable the "hold" feature on the call status screen? I'm left handed and every time I pick up a call my face touches the screen and puts the call on hold.
Or can i change the HOLD button's position on the keypad?
Call Status Features (When i make a call):
Speaker On Mute Hold
Note Contatcs End
Thanks!
Haha, funny, but I want to find the answer to this too. I sometimes End the call or press Speaker On when it touches my face.
try to find caller from forum Development and Hacking with somethig like a slide locking features off caller... i think it's from opal but i dont relly sure
Easiest, since it's a built-in feature, is to press the power button before raising the phone to (and touching) your face. This will turn off the screen, making it impossible to touch any of the on-screen buttons AND will NOT disconnect your phone call. Using the red end-call button to hang up will cause the screen to automatically come back on so you can continue using your device. If you need to use something on the device (contacts, calendar, etc) while still on the call, press the power button again and the screen will light back up - all without messing up your call.

AT&T Fuze: No in-call Volume Control

I don't know when it started but I no longer have in-call Volume Control. Pressing up or down on the volume buttons causes the Syste/Ringer Volume Control to come up but not the single Volume bar. I don't know how I could have lost that. I am using the stock AT&T ROM and I have TF3D turned off to just use WinMo 6.1.
Also, I did do thorough searches for this to not be redirected to the sticky. I'm sorry, but I couldn't find anyone else with this issue.
Thank you guys!
If you're using a different dialer, sometimes the HTC volume control will cause that.
I'm on WM6.5 and I use the stock WM dialer and disable the HTC Volume Control (if the ROM I'm using has it cooked in).
I just realized something that may have made a difference.
I used Diamond Tweaks to switch the Volume Control from HTC Touch to WinMo because I can't stand the HTC one. It didn't actually change at all so I switched it back. That may have been around when this happened.
I have now found a thread that talked about how to disable HTC Touch Control by changing the registry key. But now my keyboard has gone to Courier. Not a big deal.
Could that have been it? Could Diamond Tweaks have caused it?
It could be. I think it comes down to a combination of dialer and HTC Volume Control vs WM Volume Control.
Interesting, I also changed the HTC dialer to the WinMo dialer. I just really can't stand the HTC stuff, it's sluggish, I don't personally think it looks so great. I like the Microsoft interface. It's less flashy, sure, but it's functional and clean.
So you're saying my combination of WinMo dialer and HTC Volume Control might have caused the disappearance of the HTC in call Volume?
I phone was stock and it still did it after i unlocked it
but i not sure its from the unlock i never got to us if before i unlocked it
some i need to disable the htc control???

[Q] Ringer on/off

I search this specific forum but couldn't find anything on this topic.
I was wondering if it was possible to put a hot key or button or something on the lock screen or even on one of the pages to silence the phone with out having to turn it down manually with the rocker switch?
I had a motorola atrix 2 and it had something on it's locked screen to silence and unsilence the phone.
Of course I also like the locked screen on the atrix 2 better then my skyrocket but that and the silence button are the only 2 things I liked over my skyrocket.
Any advice or help would be great.
Thank you
You can enable the "Turn Over" motion feature to mute incoming calls and sounds. No need to press buttons.
See if that works for you.
That is awesome, thank you for the suggestion but I was thinking more along the lines of forgetting to silence your phone in say a meeting. Instead of having to unlock the phone and press the volume down button till silent, can I put a volume on / vibrate mode widget or something on my lock screen.

You can replace your lockscreen and use something like widgetlocker. And you can add whatever widget, slider action or shortcut you want. Search the market for other options.
Thanks a lot widget locker works great and does exactly what I want.

[Q] Any way to hack the volume button as a mute button for in call use?

Im a recent Blackberry convert and one thing I loved about it was the mute button (in the middle of the volume up and down on the bold 9900). Now that was great when Im always on conference calls for work and very easy to just hit that button to go on mute and hit it again to un-mute even with the screen locked.
Now I know the Skyrocket doesnt have one, and it sort of sucks to keep having to wake the phone to hit the mute softbutton, when you driving or doing other things you cant do it blindly.
So I was wondering since Im rooted, is there say any way to map out say the volume button that say if we hit both up and down at the same time it would initiate a mute for in call use and same again to un-mute it. That be nice to use without looking at the screen. I havent been able to find anyone who has done this or mapped out these buttons for other use.

Power button function during call.

Hi
During a call if you press the power button once it mutes the ringing but if you press it again in rejects the call.
How can I make it so that it can only mute during call but not reject the call ?
The reason is that I have my phone in my pocket upside down and when I get a call I sometimes reject a call.

Anybody ?
Usually my power buttons just turns the screen off or ends call.. it doesn't mute ? Are you on stock ?

Use the volume buttons to mute the call.
What I want is for the power button to not end the call.
same question here...
Not sure if this setting is the solution:
Settings -> Accessibility -> Power button ends call
You could try unchecking it
I dont have that option in accessibility.
Doesnt it give you the option to reject the call when it comes in. Im asking because I have the option to accept or reject a call when it comes in from home screen ? If you don't have that option, you can simply use the volume key to reject by turning off or down volume. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Yes it gives me the option but twice pressing the power button causes reject call. This happens every time when i try to pull the phone from my pocket. So i want to disable this feature, twice pressing power button rejection.... :banghead:
