just got myself the O3D. its got vodafone nz boot screen and shut down screen and so on which is all good.
but when i had the xperiax10 before i could edit some numbers in the build.prop file, plug my phone into the computer for software update and then sure enough it would update or when i reinstall the software The boot screen would be changed and i wouldnt have vodafone apps nd stuff.
so if anybody reading this knows if and how i can make my phone generic and have a generic rom in it that would be awesomee.
by the way i have roooted my phone already. and its running android 2.2.2 and software version is apparantly v10d july 08 2011 apparantly. i dont know what that means.
your help would be greatly apppreciated.
You should be able to use the lg mobile update tool to update to gingerbread

Search for kdz flashing it debrands it but does not sim unlock it and will get you onto a fully debranded gingerbread...

let's say i'm still new in these things...
i'm still struggling with the gb official update in my region.
i'm kind of impatient somehow so i thinking of rooted my phone while waiting the update.
so can i make a undo the rooted phone after update have come to my region (or maybe the rooted phone can update to the gb )

Since a lot of people doesn't know it... when i came to china, they thought i'm from tokyo ), i'm having a lg p500 phone with android version 2.2.1 install and have have the V10G_00 firmware (it's already like that since i bought it, so i have no experience in updating neither android or the firmware)

Most practical way of Unroot is to install new firmware for your phone.
pls open your phone on download mod and install original stok firmware.

Err does the rooted android can install an original firmware? Or maybe you can redirect me (link if there is a thread about it)

Missing software update option in my o3d. I dont know how,but its not there where it should be,or anywhere else. I have v10d. Stock rom offcourse. How is it possible that the option to update is not there? Any suggestions or help? Thanks in advance.

Is there an apk that can be downloaded for example OTA.apk? I don't know why but there is no Ota update function in my phone. I used to have it in my previous phone. Anyone? Please....

I guess that you are on froyo,because my phone did not have ota update option in setings when i was on froyo,but now on GB it's ok.
Only solution for you is either to wait for official update via lg pc suite or to flash kdz v21a gingerbread,than you can root and flash custom roms.

You can actually leave your phone exactly the way it is right now. No need to un-root.

This is a very easy update process, but follow the steps perfectly.

Help,i cant get access on my lg optimus 3d software update. When i bought this phone,it has 2.2 froyo where i can still recieve updates and when i upgraded into gingerbread 2.3.5 i am recieving a message "your device is not registered yet" then i decided to flash king 3d rom hoping that i would be able to get access again on ota updates. But then still no luck.now im getting a message "com.android.phone has stopped"
-pls help,is there any way i could get updates again?

You will never get an update if you are not on stock rom.

I have the same problem. I flash roms via KDZ flasher...
I did upgrade my O3D to GB using LG Mobile Support Tools.
Download the GB package ~ 400 MB. Upgrade completed after 20 minutes.
hello recently i update from 2,2, to 2.3 with kdz files ( i tried V21E V21A and v21d )
and accrued 2 problems 1st problem was wifi reception was really badly sometimes could not connect even at a very close distance
then i tried to flash some roms both thaiz and acura and some more i found
the roms was for GB baseband ( i had a 2.3 baseband since i update with kdz files ) so when i flash a rom with clockworkmod
the phone opens and did not ask for pin number and could not connect to operator and said something like organizing bla bla
any ideas ??
so i downgrade to 2.2 baseband ( latest v10k ) and flash a acura rom for 2.2 baseband and works like a charm
any ideas guys ? for 2.3 updates
no one has this problem ??

thanks for the reply but i already used it
i believe my phone is not Greek but German or something else from EUrope
in the past was a site from official LG where at the end of the link you put your EMEI and it tells you from where is your phone
unfortunately the link in not working either the site where downloading kdz files
so i think i have to try something like open europe kdz or not know
by now i have flashed the basebands kdz over 10 times with not luck

also i tried to flash bin files (same problem) (f*** wifi)
the pin problems are not more but wifi problem still exists
i also tried the official method through lg but same problem
i guess i have to stuck to Froyo
but i also guess that i am going to get rid of this phone and never again buy Lg phone

UK p920 that was bought second hand and unlocked to all networks I am using a T-mobile[ UK] sim card
I updated from froyo to 2.3.5 gingerbread 2 weeks ago using LG mobile support tool. The sim card was in at the time.
update successful and then rooted phone all ok. Tried doing backup of current rom with rom manager and failed. also tried orange, and rom manager,none would backup anything. tried flashing rom and bricked phone!could not even get into a boot recovery. Last resort I used LG mobile support tool to download and auto re-install 2.3.5 (without sim card in) didnt think this would affect anything. Phone booted up and all is ok, did a titanium restore of apps and settings all ok, but cannot get the phone to connect to sim network-tmobile.
Current config; model number LG-P920
android version 2.3.5
baseboard version L6260_modem_sic_01.1042.00
kernel version 2.635.7+
build number GRJ90
software version LGP920-V21e-APR 19 2012
Has the recovery loaded the correct version for my phone?

Have you changed baseband ? Normally it is a baseband problem.
The rom must suit with the right baseband.
And watch if you have imei.
EDIT: are you on stock 2.3.5?

Everything is stock 2.3.5 used LGmobile support tool which is a recovery tool as well. Had to use this method as rom manager decided to kill phone as described in original message.The update tool did find my imei number as it did when I upgraded using the same tool from froyo to gingerbread.

You need baseband for example connectivity. Watch in google you find enought about that

Well I tried a cwm/ rom manager flash recovery and it trashed the phone again and this time LG software recovery doesn't load phone, it wont booot into bootloader just get LG logo and then switches off after a minute.trying to get omap 4430 drivers to load on W7 to try the all in one tool to flash a GB bootloader, so far no luck If only there was better info on it. Thanks for help so far, now I have a bigger problem !!
