NY

Hey everyone, as some of you might know, i have been trying to get an android phone for quite some time now. After having followed many device, i have been trying to get the Infuse since it was released. A friend of mine will be in NY tomorrow for a couple days and I am trying to have my cousin pick up the phone for me to give to my friend. He said there is an ATT by his work on 34th. I know that's not much info, but by anychance are any of you fmiliar with that location? My brother tried to get it for me in Boston and they kept telling him that they would not sell it to him without a contract. I am trying to avoid that bs this time around... SHould my cousin mention that I live out of the country and see if they are more willing? Anyways, any thoughts and or opinions are greatly appreciated. Hope this works out for me this time around.
Thanks everyone!
Wally world! (walmart) they dont give crap about it. they should be able to sell it to you.
Thanks Transformer!
I don't really know Manhattan all that well, but don't really remember seeing a Walmart anywhere around... I need to purchase it somewhere where i have friends or family traveling so that they can bring it back to me as I am currently living in the Dominican Republic.
dont really give explnations. just say you need to buy a phoen off contract.
Well my day went from great to sh*t in just a few minutes... I get a msg that my cousin is on his way to get me the Infuse at an ATT in NY so that he can give it to my buddy who is coming back to the DR tomorrow. Then i get the msg that they would not sell it to him off-contract... This keeps happening everytime i finally have someone in the US that can get the phone. Losing all hope...
Best Buy. There is a 24 hour one somewhere in the 30's in Manhattan.
Seriously? Anyoen happen to know how much Best Buy is selling them for off contract?
Thanks!

$600 /10chars
i asked a guy at the att store if we could buy phones off contract just the phoen no contract he said yes.
note! in order for a att store to sell a phone of contract it has to be a corporate store.
thats the info i got when i asked
Thanks everyone!
Dani: sorry, but whats "/10chars?"
Transformer: Thats weird cause my cousin said that it was a corporate store and the people at the store said he might have better luck at one of the small non corporate stores... I just wish i was the one that could do take care of it and i didn't have to have my friends and family jumping around and being given responses and answers that are mixed.
hmm. either way. it is a att product and you are paying full price for it. why not hit up att 1 800 number thur skype and see what you can get done.
maybe have your cousin wait there while your on the phone and have one of the managers from central call in to the store to authorise the sale.
I might just have to do something like that... Wish it were as easy as just purchasing, but hey, i guess good things don't come easy? I need to get hyped up again on this phone, cause this bs is seriously putting a damper on things...lol.
Appreciate all the responses.

ok, just keep me posted.
Would you be willing to sell it for a little less to a developer who is looking for a spare phone? I don't mean to put you out of extra $$ but it would be very helpful to have a second device for the right price. Let me know.

How much were you willing to pay for it? Cause I was going to hold it for the other guy if he still want it? And are you willing to buy it right now from me?

T-mobile Jump! Program BS

Thought I would share this to save others money!
When I got my Note 3 they signed me up for the Jump! Program for 10 bucks a month! What garbage, it gives you device insurance with a $150.00 deductible and Lookout mobile. I got insurance from squaretradeDOTCOM for 125.00 for 24 months coverage($5.20/month) and only a $75.00 deductible. The 'locate your phone' that Lookout provides is already free to any Android 2.2+ device. Just go to Settings/Security/Device Administrators and check the box for Android Device Manager, now you can locate, ring, or wipe data from any browser by going to https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
I am NOT paid by Squaretrade or Google. The 24 month plan is only for phones purchased within 30 days though, it's $7.99/month for older phones.
Note: This may not be the good for those who want to trade in their phones to upgrade early though, I prefer to keep my devices so it works for me. Anyone know if the early upgrade option is tied to this?
Thanks its good to know l do like to swap for the newer device. I appreciate the post

Yes, actually jump is for people who want to upgrade the phone in 6 months and if you one of those people, then insurance is free or something like $1, not sure exactly. But then jump is not for everybody, it wouldn't work for me because I keep most of my new phones for at least a year and don't want to pay for extra insurance. So, if you have jump, after 6 months you return your old phone and get a new one, details are on Tmo website with all the costs/benefits etc. I'm surprised reps didn't explain all of this to you, or you weren't listening?

This was mandatory for a financed device(according to the rep), and you can still get an upgrade any time you want if you pay off the phone. I was able to remove it since it obviously doesn't work for me so I thought I would share for others that it may not be the best option for. My only uncertainty is if you can trade in without paying for this later, which you didn't answer, please keep this productive. Thank you.

Verizon does what properly? A serious question, not trying to bash.

[Q] What to do with bricked phone?

(I hope this is the right forum to ask this in) Alrighty everyone first off I have no hope of saving this thing and I have no intention to do so. So from here what do I do. I have an LG optimus L9, T-Mobile is my carrier and I have the Jump plan offered by them. Im in need of a phone (who isnt now a days) So it looks like I have a couple options...call them...tell them I lost the phone see what happens from there. Or tell them there was a hardware error (Both of these options are covered by the Jump plan) I dont know if they check to see if the phone has been rooted if I sent it in because that would probably void everything. Or I could try and upgrade phones to a different one. The main thing is I was making payments on this phone and don't know what to do with that. I only want to be paying one phone off. Thank you very much for reading through all this, if you have any suggestions on what to do please let me know!

Thought about getting it repaired by a technician? Just google for it. If you give it to your carrier they'll mind you or someone have modified it. I really can't advice you telling 'em you lost it, cause that was criminal acting i suppose.

Professionals of mobile repairing in your local market can solve your problem by charging a little money.

[Q]

My Loss your gain. I bought a Ematic Edan XL and want to root it so I can allow my grandmother to add money to her Monopoly game. Please advise if you have, can build or create a method to Root this thing. My other option is sell it, and buy a known unit that will root. Please advise. I'll gladly pay $20 bucks for anyone who can walk me through this.
