I have till the 27th of this month to return my NS. am I pushing the envelope or what?
Anyone ever had a hard time with such a close return date?
I cant make up my mind if I should keep the NS or return it and shoot for the SGS2.
Seriously losing sleep over this.
The NS camera sucks and the S2 is to big. I've put my Inspire up for sale, but I cant make my mind up! lol
If you are within the return period you don't have a problem.
You really think the camera sucks? Why? I think it takes great pictures for a phone camera. It has even beaten the iPhone 4 in an outdoor comparison.

NexxyS4G is nice, but if I had the option of the SGS2, I'd return the Nexxy in a heart beat and get the SGS2. (super amoled PLUS and that extra .5" of screen to me is a benefit. I think the slightly larger footprint is ideal for a smartphone's screen)
Only neg is if you are one of the few that require NFC (near field comm) as I do not believe the SGS2 has that capability.
As for the camera, I don't expect much when using a phone but surprised it wasn't a little better when reviewing images taken on the Nexy.
BTW this was the first time I bought a phone with a retail presence - BestBuy. (still purchased online but picked-up). Anyway highly impressed with their service. Free 30 return policy. NO restock fee as one would see at RadioShack.

I know a phone is not for me when I start constantly youtubing and dreaming about my other choice. SGS 2 is nice, but Nexus Prime will be nicer

I don't want a phone bigger than the nexus s. I'm going to be sad of the nexus is bigger. I actually think the camera on this phone is decent. Takes good shots. I actually have the buy back program from best buy and I'm waiting to take advantage of this for the new nexus although getting the sgsII would be nice. Hmmm you got me thinking now.

It seems like that's the best bet lol. There hasn't been a single phone currently released that makes me want to switch yet. I want something that is a vast improvement over my Nexus, not just slightly better

Honestly I would wait for the next Gen nexus. The specs are like a laptop and 4.65" sounds big, but I'd appreciate the extra real estate, especially on a reported samoled nd screen... man I love technology

Ok, lets face it, when the Samsung Hercules (Galaxy s2 T-mobile) Comes out. At least 75 percent of us are going to buy it. That's what i am afraid of. Then, once they have that phone, their sgs4g goes to their technologically-impaired grandmother and is never flashed or tinkered with again. If that happens, the little devs we have on this fourm lose a will to make more roms, thus, turning these fourms into a waiting room for people waiting for their next paycheck, or are just too poor to buy the Hercules (Like me). I will die happy If we manage to get CM7 on this phone.

I mean whitehawk and rave have dev phone funded,we can count on them.honestly I already think 4 inches is enough for a screen dont need 5!.dual core is nice but lets face it what you need it for?? certainly not the atari level gaming as oppose to iphone(i do hate the iphone)..just saying the truth!

Well this forum was screwed from the start lol why would a virbant dev upgrade to a sgs4g.. compare their rom selection to ours.
We did great together with what we had I'm still proud but s2 is gonna bring the dev heat!!

I just bought 2 of these SGS4G beauties (1 for the wife).
I had the money to buy SGS2, and i do consider myself a gadgets geek, but honestly :
1. SGS2 is too damn big, SGS4G is just the right size.
2. Who needs dual core? Adrenaline shot made my phone fly like a rocket..and I'm playing Modern Combat 2 intensively.
3. We do have great devs here and i look forward to put my hands on MIUI final with full UI language support. I am also trying to put some people together to donate to the relevant devs very soon.
4. I cannot explain it, but i feel the touch is much better on SGS4G. i played with my friend's SGS2 and couldn't drag a widget on GO launcher to upper trash can. I tried it several times.
5. As non US user, the price (without contract) was 150% for the SGS2. Too much money for a phone if you ask me..
so i bought these candies and i don't plan on throwing them.
If we have to, we will hire Krylon, Dsexton, RAVER, DR. Honk and some more great devs here. (Sorry if i forgot someone) whatever it takes!!!...

Yeah I don't think I need a galaxy s 2. Do I really need dual core to get on Facebook and to txt/call people? I dont think so. To me this phone with its current rom selection already flies. Even if a fully working miui or cm7 rom is the last we get ill be happy with this thing until it breaks.

I can't say I don't miss my mt4g, but I love this phone because of the devs we have in this forum.
So I for one. Don't need nor want the dual core monstrosity they call the hercules.

If not for the size I would consider getting one, but so far tmobile advertised price is going to be $230 with new contract/upgrade and since I have more than a year til I'm due I'll stay with my perfect size 400mb memory 3000+ quad score device.

As for this thread, yes, I am off topic, but its a useless thread anyway (no intention of being mean). Op, welcome to the world of technology. Although we all love this phone, we're all going to have to move on eventually. Until then, let's continue modding it and learning about all the amazing things it can offer. I am truly impressed by the progress our devs have made, but there is no point in being stagnant. Even if development should stop today, I think every user here can look back and be proud of this phone; which was over looked by much of the smart phone community as being a "small" upgrade.

yea i have an upgrade coming up around that time as well. but till then i am GOING to use my buy back if i can....then upgrade to the quad when it is released.....after reading our posts, i am officially a PHONE JUNKY.

I'm still within my 30 day buyer's remorse period, but I don't think I care about an HD display enough to go back to my crummy old Motorola for a couple months.
When shopping for my phone I tried out a couple with HD displays, and I realized that kind of pixel density is kind of wasted on me. I can see the difference if I really squint, but I just don't care. I'd almost rather have the added gaming performance that comes with a lower res display.
Plus, there's going to be some Tegra 3 phone that I really want 3 months after that, and something even more awesome 2 months after that. The life of an Android owner is to get the very latest and greatest when you get your phone, and to have it stay the latest and greatest for about a week.
but it has a better display and is bigger.....even if just by .15 inches.

So here we go, another Samsung/T-Mobile fail. Why do they always do this. They always bring out the same headset with just some minor changes.
Why not get the Galaxy Nexus already?
If T-Mobile didn't have such good customer service and cheap plans I would of cancelled a long time ago. We always seem to get the short end of the stick.

Lol. Havent you guys ever noticed art and tmobile always get similar counterparts as far as phones go. Don't know why people complain and say they get more. We got amaze and they got rezound. They get this new HD and we get blaze. They have similar bbs and other phones. Just throwing out my perspective. Oh and stop *****ing and just don't buy it. The most puzzling thing is that it has the same specs as the T-Mobile Galaxy SII, but is branded as a Galaxy S device.
I'm sorry but as valid as these responses get thus is ridiculous. Just return the phone and wait if it bothers you so much. This phone prob won't be out for another six months. By then when you buy it some "better" phone will be announced. What are you hoping to buy that is future proof?

It seems to me like this is a dumbed down version of the GSII. First of all they are calling it a "Galaxy S" instead of Galaxy S II, and the screen is called "Super Amoled", but not Super Amoled Plus or HD.

i just hope this isnt what T-mobile is getting instead of SGS3, that will be my next phone even if i have to buy it un-locked, the Nexus has ICS but comes with so many fails in my eyes , not enough for me to sell my SGS2 and get one

Samsung probably figured out how to fix our screen issues with the lines and blotches and decided that instead of admitting fault and having to fix all the sold phones with the issue they could just release a new model with no issues and a better res to make money instead of losing it... guess ill probably wait for the galaxy s3 hd blaze... n this whole galaxy fiasco is starting to remind me of the iphone adding a letter or number to the end without really even upgrading anything in the phone
I hate it when you buy a phone like the awesome Skyrocket, and find out that within the next 2 months a better version of the Skyrocket is coming out. The Skyrocket HD. I came from Verizon and had the HTC REZOUND. The HD DISPLAY was awesome. But even though the Skyrocket resolution is a lot lower something about the super amoled plus screen is amazing. My question is should I dish out my own money for the new Skyrocket HD WHEN IT COMES OUT? Or just live with the one I got, which I love? I really love hd screens. Especially coming from the Rezound. I'd wait. A tad bit bigger screen and HD isn't a huge upgrade (to me anyway). The SkyRocket is amazing as is.

it was already announced by att at ces, its on their website as coming soon. the sky hd was just stupid for att because they might as well just get the gs3, which they probably will in q3 or q4
Samsung is aware that it was at ces ..they made the thing....think of it as the concept car that never hit production....or eventually does but with a different name

It isn't going to be quadcore....there will be no mind blowing spec changes.
No...these guys at Samsung won't give me exact info, they could lose their job....but they have always given me enough to speculate with 95% accuracy.
Something is coming, another mad rush of device releases...otherwise they would not have been looking for outside device testers etc.

We have the top of the line phone right now. Phones and tablets are constantly getting better like computers were a few years ago. Might as well wait and get the next top of the line phone next contract.
Just my $0.02
Example: the transformer prime is already old news. A much higher resolution one with wifi/GPS fixes is on its way later this year.
