Switching to the Skyrocket?

Is anyone switching to the Skyrocket? It comes out tomorrow. I really like my Infuse but there is an update on one of my lines and my mom broke the screen on her phone. So I am thinking about giving her my Infuse and upgrading to the Skyrocket.

In your predicament, personally, I would do it

i wouldn't upgrade early to a GS2 variant, the infuse does everything i need!

A beast that in many ways is slower than the 1.2GHz dual core in the real sgs2 which has a ton of development since it is an international phone unlike all this north America carrier specific junk we have to deal with.
Ok so its still a beast and probably highly overclockable, I have to wonder about features like mhl though, the att sgs2 that's already out doesn't come with the adapter, will the sky rocket? I guess the infuse needs a selling point with all these super phones coming out.

I'm still thinking of between the Vivid and Skyrocket, probably Skyrocket though.
I'm not going to do the same thing I did on my Vibrant, and be an early adopter, I'm going to wait a week or 2 to see what development is like, but I truly only want root, and I can wait for everything else.
EDIT: YES! I just looked on the AT&T website, and my area is one that the SGS II (original) wasn't sold, so the Skyrocket is $149.99, and the Vivid is $99.99 for me..
Guess I'll be getting one of the 2. xD

Just flashed my phone from MIUI back to stock, ready with the box and everything to go switch out my infuse first thing tomorrow for the Skyrocket!

after having the evo3d having dual cores is not that big of a deal

Debating. I am going to go today to take a look at it if the store has them and decide. Will be keeping my Infuse either way and not using my upgrade.

Exactly 35 days after using my second upgrade on an Xperia Play, I find out AT&T is releasing a motherload of new phones. This is my face right now.

Nexus is here....

I just saw it at the Verizon store.. they can't sell it till tomorrow.
I held it in my hand.. very weird with the curve.. will be great with the ladies..
Will go back in the morning and put it to the test next to my SR..
From what I can tell the only thing good about the phone is ICS..
*EDIT*... Okay.. went out eariler and saw this "wonder phone"... I brought my sr to compare..
People.. this Nexus is nothing.. feels cheap, and feels smaller then the SR.. I can't tell the difference in the screen except mine looks better.... ICS is the only selling point on this phone.. Could I feel a 'difference" well. stock to stock yes. But with different launchers.. etc.. I can't tell my phone from the Nexus..
If you want to pay $300 for a sub par phone with ICS by all means go ahead... I'm keeping the SR.

agreed weve had them in for a week now at best buy mobile first day opened one and tested out... the only thing i think beats the skyrocket is the screen the os is pretty tight too other than that skyrocket will beat it once we get ics

I was really considering buying one of the gsm versions then I did some research and found out about the galaxy s2 hd lte which is pretty much the same phone but without ice cream sandwich, but I keep comparing and found the deal breaker, the galaxy nexus does not have micro sd slot which is a android first for me. Sounds like some apple maddness, plus I got a 64gb microsd so that just docent work for me. But hey to each his own

Verizon did a poor job at releasing that phone.
I thought the nexus was going to come out around November so I waited.
My Moto atrix screen was cracked and I couldn't wait any longer. I don't regret buying the Samsung skyrocket best phone I owned so far....

Im tempted due to ICS but in the end it isn't worth switching to Verizon and paying money for a phone that really isn't any better just for ICS .

I had Verizon and the service was subpar. AT&T works amazingly for me with speeds. After owning an iPhone I don't want another phone without an SD slot.
ICS will be available soon enough on our SR.

Unless they find a way to make Exynos to work with LTE.. it will be Snapdragon.. assuming the Note every comes to Att&t... don't hold your breath..

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze?

So here we go, another Samsung/T-Mobile fail. Why do they always do this. They always bring out the same headset with just some minor changes.
Why not get the Galaxy Nexus already?
If T-Mobile didn't have such good customer service and cheap plans I would of cancelled a long time ago. We always seem to get the short end of the stick.
Guess what's gonna happen when this is released. Even less development, that's what. Grrrr.

Lol. Havent you guys ever noticed art and tmobile always get similar counterparts as far as phones go. Don't know why people complain and say they get more. We got amaze and they got rezound. They get this new HD and we get blaze. They have similar bbs and other phones. Just throwing out my perspective. Oh and stop *****ing and just don't buy it. Don't people keep phones for more than a year now.

The most puzzling thing is that it has the same specs as the T-Mobile Galaxy SII, but is branded as a Galaxy S device.

I'm sorry but as valid as these responses get thus is ridiculous. Just return the phone and wait if it bothers you so much. This phone prob won't be out for another six months. By then when you buy it some "better" phone will be announced. What are you hoping to buy that is future proof?

Yeah, this one should come with ICS since there is no Nexus yet, but of course it won't.
Like previous post it has the same specs, but this one will probably have an HD screen on it. #lame
I doubt this will be out in six months, I'm guessing Feb/March.

It seems to me like this is a dumbed down version of the GSII. First of all they are calling it a "Galaxy S" instead of Galaxy S II, and the screen is called "Super Amoled", but not Super Amoled Plus or HD.

i just hope this isnt what T-mobile is getting instead of SGS3, that will be my next phone even if i have to buy it un-locked, the Nexus has ICS but comes with so many fails in my eyes , not enough for me to sell my SGS2 and get one

Samsung probably figured out how to fix our screen issues with the lines and blotches and decided that instead of admitting fault and having to fix all the sold phones with the issue they could just release a new model with no issues and a better res to make money instead of losing it... guess ill probably wait for the galaxy s3 hd blaze... n this whole galaxy fiasco is starting to remind me of the iphone adding a letter or number to the end without really even upgrading anything in the phone

Galaxy Note...Are you switching?

Just curious how many of us out there are going to move on to the galaxy note. I'm still in my 30 days with skyrocket and trying to make the decision to return it and go back to my old phone until the note comes out. I love the skyrocket but I switched to it for bigger display and LTE and the note accomplishes that even further. Soooo what do you all think?

If it has an S3, I'm staying far away from it.
The Adreno 220 is good, but terrible at higher res, look at the Rezound, it lags on anything.
The Note won't be any different...

The note didn't lag on me at all...and battery life was amazing ...I was on it for two hours straight
Its an amazing device....but I am waiting for the galaxy s3

Were you on LTE when you tested it? How was the reception on LTE? I wonder if it is any thicker than the International version? I may sell my skyrocket and get the ATT version to go with my International GNote if the battery life and reception etc all review out well. I will wait a month or so after the launch to make sure I see all the reviews before moving forward.
Once you get used to the GNote, the skyrocket does not cut it for resolution and features.

Ill be switching. Ive had something warm for the Note since its release but couldn't justify buying an unlocked unwarrentied phone (I party too much) My skyrocket has performed amazingly and it seems from the numbers the Note will too. I had an ATT sgs2 and then the skyrocket and I couldn't notice any difference in the processors. Ill have the ATT Note on launch day and Im sure Ill love it.

Hmm... according to red in another thread, AT&T is getting the GNexus.
I seriously hope that's true, so I'll wait a month or 2 (also gives the Note time to mature, and get some dev going, I don't like being an early adopter.)

I can get the International GNexus, or AT&T GNote... this will be one tough choice.

I'd love to switch, but just got the combo Skyrocket + Galaxy Tab 8.9. I suppose I can't return just the Skyrocket now. The 30 day return window should be up by next week.
My only option should be selling the skyrocket on ebay. How much are they going for anyway?

Aww man the G Note, i am really wanting one but the screen size is giving me second thoughts. Maybe if i see one in person i would probably have a better decision. If not the G Note i may just hold out for the skyrocket HD with 4.65 screen it could be the perfect size for me.

Any skyrocket devs going to the note? It would be nice to have some guys familiar with the hardware cooking for this monster. Im hoping that there just has to be some recompiling done to the skyrocket roms to accomadate the larger hd screen. I would guess the faux kernel would work since it says it works with pretty much all GB sammys. I almost which sammy sprung the release on us like they did with the skyrocket lol this wait is killing me

I hate it when you buy a phone like the awesome Skyrocket, and find out that within the next 2 months a better version of the Skyrocket is coming out. The Skyrocket HD. I came from Verizon and had the HTC REZOUND. The HD DISPLAY was awesome. But even though the Skyrocket resolution is a lot lower something about the super amoled plus screen is amazing. My question is should I dish out my own money for the new Skyrocket HD WHEN IT COMES OUT? Or just live with the one I got, which I love? I really love hd screens. Especially coming from the Rezound. I would just wait patiently. Theres a rumor its not going into production. So all you can do is wait until its announced by at&t. That it will be available for pre order

I think it is going to release as the S3...we will know soon. none of these sammy guys had even heard of the skyrocketed hd

I'd wait. A tad bit bigger screen and HD isn't a huge upgrade (to me anyway). The SkyRocket is amazing as is.

it was already announced by att at ces, its on their website as coming soon. the sky hd was just stupid for att because they might as well just get the gs3, which they probably will in q3 or q4

Samsung is aware that it was at ces ..they made the thing....think of it as the concept car that never hit production....or eventually does but with a different name

I have no doubt we are going to see an hd phone. ot will have the same processor and a 4.65" screen. it will Prolly be called the S3 or the skyrocketed hd.
It isn't going to be quadcore....there will be no mind blowing spec changes.
No...these guys at Samsung won't give me exact info, they could lose their job....but they have always given me enough to speculate with 95% accuracy.
Something is coming, another mad rush of device releases...otherwise they would not have been looking for outside device testers etc.

We have the top of the line phone right now. Phones and tablets are constantly getting better like computers were a few years ago. Might as well wait and get the next top of the line phone next contract.
Just my $0.02
Example: the transformer prime is already old news. A much higher resolution one with wifi/GPS fixes is on its way later this year.
