hey guys...
i've been waiting for the ICS update since even i dont know when... and i heard that they were gonna push the update in march...
do u know whats up with it... i mean when are the users in north america (texas) will get the update..?
my sincere appreciation to those who'l help me out (especially with some good news )
Players like T-Mobile have much tweaking to do to get the phone to work right with all the bloatware they put on it. I'd bet more like May.
ICS is out there in custom ROMs running clean like the one I'm running. I was a nube at flashing ROMs and other things but there are such solid directions on the dev threads its almost idiot proof. Now after a custom ROM, I will never run stock again. Like a totally different phone.

So recently i bought an HTC One S with an S3 processor which its country is of Asia. I am currently at europe. I still am on Android 4.0.3 and there doesnt seem to be an update for my phone. Now i know that 4.0.4 and also JB are rolling out, but not for my device. Is there anything I can do to solve this ?
Thanks
I live in a country where HTC sell the S3 processor only. I had my cousin sent me HOS from US, big difference.
You might want to trade for an S4 though.
In the meantime you can search the development forum and look for an S3 ROM.
Not many but there are some.

HOS stands for Htc One S and a Rom is basically an operating system for your device that is nothing like stock, has tweaks here and there things that stock doesnt, and if you root you will.still be able to receive updates but you have to relock the phone and some other things I can't remember then you can apply the update, basically you can't apply update to a rooted phone its just gonna give you and installation error then reboot your phone I think but that's basically it for your questions, hopefully it was helpful to you
T-Mobile HTC one s
Htc one S
Thanks for the information !
A friend told me that if i root the phone i can change my firmware from Asia to Europe where i live so that i can recieve updates accordingly to my phone. Is this true ?
Also is there a detailed noob instructions for me to follow and learn more about rooting the phone and installing customs ROMS etc. ?
Thanks

If you root, you can manually install all sorts of fun stuff. I think if you want to remain as close to stock and receive "official" updates, super cid is something you might wanna read about. There's a thread in the Dev Section by Torxx that I used to root my S4 you might wanna look over and see if that's for you. Make sure everything you decide to do is compatible with your S3 first though.
Edit: there's also another guide in the general section

Hi whats up every one ...
Okay, guys i have a simple demand, am currently with Orange-UK HTC One S, with a stock ROM modified and bloatweared by Orange it self, after a period of use i noticed this days some light lags, i don't know why, may be some app updates, but what i want now is to switch to the international version of stock ROM, it s more stable more fast and the very important think is first by first update receiving, so am just demanding any way to do this .
Thank you all
Cordially.

Change cid number to 11111 and start then RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed. That RUU is universal for europe. Explanation of how to change cid numer you have someware on forums, also RUU you will find in section of where is RUU. That is safest way whit out rooting
Wll i also wanted to debrand my phone, but someone told me u cant change the cid of S3 phones?
Or is it possible? Any link for the tutorial if u can provide?

Thanks for the response ...
But the RUU that you talking about is for ICS, am currently on JB 4.1.1, so how it would be then !?
I have a few questions that desperately need answers. (1) Is there a custom iOS ROM for the HTC One A9 (Sprint)? I've found a few for other phones but none specifically for the A9. Does anybody know if there is a ROM out there compatible with the A9 or even better for the A9 specifically? This is my first time doing something this complicated with my phone, so if you guys have ANY suggestions for ANYTHING with this Time-consuming project, please feel free to let me know. I am almost finished with unlocking the boot loader and want to be prepared before i go through with this.
(2) Is there any other OS i could use besides this if it is not out there or doesn't work?
Thanks,
Ethan
there are only 2 "real" options for a custom rom on the a9 .. first one is dev build from wonders_never_cease , but this one is only for us (converted .. so s-off) phones
and then there is LOS 14.1 if u want my opinion .. go with Lineage, it's works really good on the A9 (beside some small issues).
Ok thx a lot! I really appreciate it! ?
