Is there a fix for this?
I've flashed a new ICS firmware, Insercoin's new Rom, and the new clockwork mod touch. Not sure if i did it in the wrong order. But the app has been stuck on this since i've flashed this the rom on thu night. I've been sittin with it now for ten minutes.. after i uninstalled and reinstalled Titanium backup.
I have that problem too sometimes. Just force close the application, wipe the data and try again.

Thanks, Just tried it after about 20 mins of sitting there and it's been about two minutes with the same result after trying the process...
Strange... Have you tried rebooting your phone?

well it's been rebooted quite a bit since then.
It's still doing it now.. maybe another twenty minutes..
I'll try it in another 10.
I think i've come to the conclusion it's related to the app itself. as i've done a superwipe since then. still same result.

I have been running the VEGAn 5.1 rom since I bought my G-Tablet, I wake up today turned it on and every program required for startup automatically force closes,
The process android.acore has stopped unexpectedly please try again.
The application Titanium Backup (process com. Keramidas. TitaniumBackup) has stopped unexpectedly please try again.
Now for some reason most of my apps don't work now and I constantly get these popup force close same processes every time, help please!

Badfrog your pretty good at this, what could have caused this? and why repartition?
aight partitioned and did a factory reset, back up and running thanks.
IT just seems to happen to everyone after awhile. Somehow your partitions get corrupted. I did mine about 3 weeks ago and havent had a problem since.

So theres a possibility it could happen again?
Who knows...mine went bad within a few days and hasn't been a problem since. I also make a Titanium Backup of my apps everyday and that backup is linked to my dropbox account so if there is a problem I would be back up and running within 30 minutes
<- Not that guy! (knock on wood!).

Not sure if many of you know this but there is a feature in CWMR called fix permissions. This is a handy feature to use if you're getting FC's that can't be cleared by going to /settings/applications/manage applications/name of app/clear data.
For examply, I just did a restore of RebelROM and the first time I went to open ICS Camera I got a FC. Cleared data, restarted the app, FC. So I booted into CWMR and fixed permissions and upon reboot the camera now works fine. Just a heads up for those who aren't familiar with this feature.

What's an "FC"?
I tried the "Fix Permissions" feature just to see how it worked. It completed after a few minutes and everything seems to be working just as well as it did before.

If you had no problems before fixing permissions, you won't see anything different. This is only for those having fc issues or other app related issues that arent fixed by more standard means. It's not a guarantee this will fix it either, just another thing to try along the way.

running counter
Hi there there is a counter running after the 'done!' message, any idea what is this?
Thanks man! fixed my problem

It's taking long?
Mine just got through within like 10 seconds.

Mine was not 10 seconds but it did get done with 3 or 4 minutes (Galaxy S3 CWM v5.5.0.4). I realized after posting that this was not a thread for my phone, but I thought I'd let you know that it was not instantaneous even on my device (also you can thank Google for sending me to this thread instead of my normal lurking grounds (S3 / Nexus 10)).
My MAXX HD will randomly reboot. This can happen during heavy usage, or when my phone is just sitting in my pocket. It (was) non-rooted, a large amount of apps installed, and on 9.16.6. The phone started this reboot cycle about a month and a half ago.
I performed a factory reset, and it continued it's reboot cycle. The only apps that got installed were K9 mail and Touchdown.
Any ideas what could be happening?
First thing I'd try is fix permissions.

Uninstall the apps that you've installed since this has started. Then, start reinstalling until you get it to do the same thing. Then, stop using whichever app is causing.

That is the thing. I am at factory reset. It restarted prior to even installing a single app.

most people dont like to hear this fix, but in most cases the best way to fix these things for good is to flash it back to stock. a fdr just removes data and doesn't fix errors in the system.
if you are still on 9.16 and want to keep that, you will need to use the 1.21 utility.

pretty sure you need a custom recovery, i dont think stock can do it.
Well... flashing stock seems to have solved it; a full day with no reboots at this point. Updates took, too!
Thanks all.
I had the same issues, stock, rooted, did factory reset no app installed VZW tech replaced phone under warranty. Now I have phone I can't unlock and still trying to root. not much help just passing some info along
Anyone else?
Fully stock? Do a factory reset from stock recovery.. Should fix it. If you're on a custom rom, do a clean flash. (wiping everything except data)

Thx for the advice.
But was wondering if anyone else is getting them.
I'm trying a few things to fix it as I never had a reboot since I owned the phone in November last year, until 4.4.3
At the moment I'm trying an older radio, but it's hard to pin since my last try of using a 4.4.2 kernel kept me up for 35 hours before it happened again.
got an rma replacement.. still happening

no, is completely fresh
tried everything under the sun over the last month.. factory image installs, running safe mode, no apps installed, new Google account... ect ect
can't stop a soft reboot occurring every 2 or 3 days.. I use to have 'up times' of over a month on 4.4

I'm assuming you're stock, unrooted??
still suffering from this
i have noticed that if location is not set to off, it's much better, where it can run for over a week at time
as soon as i turn location off, I'm lucky to get much over 30 hours before it soft reboots
going back to 4.4 it is completely stable as it always was
Hey guys and girls. New guy hehe.
I have a HUGE problem. Everytime i lock my phone or it locks itself, it turns off or reboots.
Anyone else heard of this before?
I've wiped, hard reset, everything Googling has suggested to no avail.

As far as I can tell it is not. It happens on fresh installs as well as backups :/
I think I finally got rid of the problem by restoring from an old backup through Switch.
Been 30 mins and no reboot yet.
Will come back after work with results from the day.
Update: back to rebooting.
Doesn't happen when an app is playing music/radio (Spotify etc)
Is there any way to get back to 100% stock?
Had to use twr to get out of bootlooping.
Or a link to get a working custom rom.
