[Q] Lag Help - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I have an Android I897 Captivate. I just updated to Gingerbread 2.3.5. The phone is rooted. I used OCLF before, but it doesn't work with 2.3.5. Is there another lag fix that I can download for this? Thanks

Please search before opening a new thread. May even help if you looked in your devices section.

(Hope I am in the correct section) cant find all apps in Market

Ok so after installing froyo and doing root on my captivate I am not able to find a good portion of apps in the market. I know there was a thread about this already but couldnt seem to find it again to get some answers. Could sombody plese help or point me in the right direction.
Also has there been any fix for the serious browser lag I am experincing running 2.2?
Thanks for your time and help. I have been lerking here for a while but finally registered today.
I'm too lazy to find the threads right now, but apparently a lot of the apps in the market are not updated to state they officially support Froyo (come on app devs get on the ball already please) so you need to manually edit the build properties to say you are actually running 2.1 not 2.2.
There is a separate thread with instructions on how to replace a library file on Froyo with one from the Galaxy Tablet, that thread and the other should be in the Captivate Development forum.

[Q] Help with samsung continuum

Hey all I am a noob to modding droids. I have a continuum which I thought was never going to be updated, so i removed all bloatware. Seems though the phone finally got an update but OTA updates fail (obviously for removing bloat). So i'm wondering is there a way to restore the original stock rom with all the bloatware, or can i just install the new update through the droids safemode menu. Phone is rooted and nothing else. ANy help would be appreciated
There is a forum for the Continuum here at XDA. Here's the information you are seeking, located in the Android Development section
Good luck!

[Q] How do you root an unrooted LG G2X with ICS 4.0

Hey everyone, Ive been on the site for a few years now and have had android phones since the the Dream came out. Ive switched between a few phones and serveral different roms but always stuck with android.
I purchased a new G2X recently and rooted it with superoneclick.
Using clockwork I flashed the new Eaglesblood 4.0 Ice cream sandwich.
I was under the impression that superoneclick could not unroot ICS 4.0
and foolishly I tried anyway and after superoneclick told me the unroot failed,
I checked for superuser and in rom manager and my phone was no longer rooted....
I have tried and tried and have had no luck finding any information or even anybody who knows anything about ICS let alone rooting it.
Any help would put me in a much better place than I am now..
My phone is basically frozen in time never to see build 2...
Thanks for any help in advance

[Q] HOW TO REVERT TO GINGERBREAD FROM official ICS on AMAZE

Hi, i am a complete noob in this... so could someone please provide a step by step guide to revert back to gingerbread from ICS...i got the official update and i think my AMAZE doesnt have the hardware to handle it...its very slow now and i'd like to revert back to the gingerbread...so please..i have no clue whatsoever...i found some threads with regards to this but they were for someone with a little knowledge of these things and i was lost..help please
Can't offer specific downgrade help. Search of the forum or with Google should turn up something.
However, downgrading is not the answer. The Amaze hardware is certainly quite capable of running ICS very well. If not an official OTA would not have been released. And I've been running ICS on my Amaze since well before the OTA update with no problems at all. Runs very nice.
So...you need to identify the real problem. Could be a bad app or upgrade gone wrong - a number of things. Good place to start would be to see if something is hogging CPU cycles.

Ics has a brick issue and it will require plenty of reading on the subject. You essentially would use pc odin to reflash the old software.

[Q] Going from Gingerbread 2.3.6 back to stock Froyo

First of all let me apologize in advance if this is a repeat thread or something which has been asked before.
Please help me with my query...
I have a samsung infuse and few months back i had updated it to Gingerbread 2.3.6 using Kies. I have never installed any custom ROM ever on this. I think GB has lots of issues and battery life is also not great. I know for a fact that this thing worked fine in Froyo so i want to go back to Froyo and then later sell off the phone. I still do not want to do any custom ROM and want to go back to Froyo only.
Can anyone please suggest me what all i will need to get and how to do it ? (ODIN ?)
I know this wonderful forum has all information but segregating what i want exactly is getting bit difficult and hence i am opening this thread.
Would sincerely appreciate any help i can get in this regard.
