When was the last time a phone was this high? It will probably be like 575 after taxes... after watching all of the videos.. it doesn't seem worth the price of a computer. This is like crime. I always buy my phones out right because I don't like to wait for contract renewals but another 75? I bet if they added more internal memory and a better video camera and screen it would be like 800 huh? Lol maybe I need to back off on being a phone fanatic lol

That was still Google branded but the majority of HTC US phones are like 500. I dunno.. I ain't flipping out but if the price is gonna continue to go up, they can be more solid with their product functionality

Amazon lists the Atrix for $599, and the Droid X for $559. I agree it's way too much. Just saying...

For whatever reason I had $499 on my mind...
$549 plus tax in LA @9.75% equals $602 and some change...
At this price point, I'm reconsidering purchasing this phone now as I'm pretty happy with the MyTouch 4G running Virtuous Fusion 1.1.2.
There's always Craigslist.

That's presently irrelevant in the US, because it hasn't been released in the US. I bet when it is released here, it's under $600.
I paid $650 for my GS2 with tax.
My Incredible was 550 six months after release. This doesn't seem outrageous.
Dunno why you're complaining, you guys have it cheap. In europe the average new phone, no contract costs $700-$800 usd. Currently the HTC sensation costs ~430pounds ($700usd) in the uk. The galaxy s ii also costs ~430pounds in europe and $800 aud in australia. The atrix is even more expensive, costing 500pounds ($850usd).

Well I'm thinking y'all probably get paid more over in the uk or something. Where is the logic of the phones being like 100 to 200 dollars more? That's crazy and yeah we complain if HTC isn't giving it their all and not producing a better than good product for almost 600 dollars.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
I'd pay that kind of money for the phone if:
1) It comes with almost no flaws/bugs
2) Its a Pentaband GSM/HSDPA Phone
2) I have full control over it (rooting)
3) I get at least 5 years of guranteed timely updates
Last I bought a Asus laptop for this much

So its $500 for a used 6 weeks old HTC one x? Its an alright price. Its worth 700 - 1000 depending on the country. If there are no big scratches or problem than buy it. Makes sure you check everything before you buy it.

Hi all,
I am contemplating putting my NS up for sale. Not sure what I can sell it for though. Ebay is all over the map.
Here is what I have:
Unlocked Rooted ATT version I9020A, black color
Wall plug wire
Limited Edition back cover, real not knockoff.
Samsung windshield holder with 3' cigarette lighter wire
Samsung desktop with USB/wall plug wire.
Amzer soft cover
This is the NS that I list on my sig.
What should I ask for this package, and what should I settle on?
Thanks

In Greece is still at the stores. You can buy ona 9023 (slcd) with 200 euros.
So i guess that a used 9020 (amoled) could be sold at 140 euros...

Koodo Mobile used to sell a NEW Nexus S (before it was discontinued) at $300, and their One V is currently selling for $175 outright.
With that in mind, even $200 is a little much. Maybe $150?
Hey just to be sure I didn't get screwed over.
Was my i9023 worth 260€ back in December? Do prices really drop so quickly?
I searched quite some time to find the cheapest one. It was also new and not used by someone else.
Cosmetic condition will influence the resale price. If you have a perfect screen with no scratches, and no scratches on the body, it should go for more. I wouldn't sell it for less than $150-$170, in decent condition, especially with the accessories/cover. Throw it on CL for $200, take some nice pics, write a thrilling ad, and see what happens.
... or keep it and use it as a dedicated "ipod/ipod touch".
Keep it and use it as a developers phone for porting roms

Yeah its pretty crazy how much our phones have dropped in price. I would say about 6 months ago when ICS came out they were easily selling on Craigslist for $300. Now people are lucky to sell em for $150-200. I wonder if we'll see an increase in price again when JB officially comes. People tend to want the "new thing".

What is the best smartphone (can be touchscreen or a BlackBerry) that works well and is under £80. It should have 3g at least as well. Not interested in ssecond hand also. Could also be a good phone on contract for about £7 a month with more than 200 free texts and some minutes. Thanks for any help.

The best you're looking at is gonna be the SE Xperia X8. It can be picked up for around £70/80 and it's not a bad little phone either. It should more than do what you're looking for.

No offense but as the days pass, you're losing value on a phone that's two years old, so I hope you're prepared to keep that Evo because at least in my general region of the country, those go for $100 or less on CL.
As this price I prefer having a good mobile of the second hand before that a villain new mobile.
For cheap smartphones Zte and Huawei
the OG DroidX has got to be the best cheap device. Ive moved one from it. But owned about 3 of em before switching to the Gnex. But the X is almost impossible to destroy. And everything on it has been hacked for themeing and flashing.
Wait for the Key Lime Pie Nexus phone.

As others have said, it will be really hard to find a good phone at that price. If you are looking for a 24 month contract, this is the best I could find:
HTC Wildfire S [500MB data | 250 Minutes | 5000 Texts]
£7.50 monthly
£3.12 monthly with cashback
Hope that helped!
That's a great price!
Although, it is refurbished which doesn't bode well with the person I'm looking for the phone for

The Droid X will not work in the UK since it is a CDMA phone. You need a GSM phone for the UK and, afaik, there is no GSM version. I think you should go with the Wildfire S. Great phone for the price. Also, the contract is pretty good. But, if your friend does not want a refurbished phone then these are good options:
Samsung Galaxy Y [500MB data | 250 Minutes | 5000 Texts]
£7.50 monthly
Effectively £6.25 with offer of £30 Auto Cashback
HTC Desire C [500MB data | 250 Minutes | 5000 Texts ]
£19.99 upfront
£7.50 monthly
I would go with the Desire C if I were you. Hope these are better for your friend.

My office has recently taken a stance of "our apps are built for iOS first" so being on Android I have to wait 6-12 months to get what others already have.
I decided to bite the bullet and put a local ad up to trade my rooted One X with 2 cases (perfect condition) for an iPhone 4s. A few days have gone by and I have not had a single response. Where I live it usually takes less than a day to get a deal done.
I though originally I was giving something up, so getting this phone for a 4s would be a bonus to whomever responded. Am I crazy? Set me straight here...

I'm of the opinion that people won't consider that an even trade. I personally traded my iPhone 4 for the HOX I have now, and it was worth more as well. Apple products just seem to have a higher value.

True, iPhones tend to hold their resale value better. Just a quick browse through eBay, it looks like 4S is going for (ballpark) $300, and the One X is going for around $200. So many people will probably not see it as an even trade.
Plus, the cycle for Android phones is really around 6 months, where iPhones are upgraded yearly (another part of the reason for the difference in resale value). One X has already been superceded by the X+ in many respects, with the M7 not far from launch either. So even if someone is looking at switching to Android, they might see the One X as being almost 2 gens behind, versus the iPhone 4S, which is one gen behind, and likely won't be 2 gens behind until Oct/Nov.
Of course, value is subjective, and you might still get someone to trade. But odds are probably not in your favor. I'd think about posting it as a straight out sale, seeing what you can get for it, and use the money to buy what you want.
I traded a 4s for my HOX. That was 2 months ago when the prices were very close on eBay. I have owned and still own both iOS and Android, iOS holds their value.
That being said...HOX is one of the best Androids offered by AT&T. Even though used iPhones sell for more, it is still a fair trade. You will get a bite, it just may take a little time. All you need is someone tired of iOS.
