Get the heimdall way to work.. follow these instructions: http://www.redmondpie.com/root-samsung-stratosphere-4g-on-android-2.3.5-gingerbread-how-to-tutorial/ all the way up to step 6.
Run s2 rooter
Root it
You might have to download superuser from the market as I had it installed already
Update the su binary from within the superuser app.. not mandatory but I did it..
And you will have root.
Things you'll need:

Here's a idea, can someone let me know if they think it will work. If the zimage is renamed to a .tar, would it be safe to flash the new tar with oden?

As Lg optimus net have not proper section and as it is successor of o1. I think its right place to post this thread.
After searching and trying many forums over 2-3weeks i m able to root my phone successfully. As there is not a single forum here to root this phone i want to make one, to help those searching for this.
i thanks to "g0mezz " whose method for rooting another phone worked for mine too
First of all there are a couple of things that you have to consider before starting to root.
1. Be sure that you have installed the original V20B o v10c version software on rom. I have tested on these two.
2. If you have it installed and tried different methods to root on it do a factory reset before trying this one.
3. Be absolutely sure that you have all the drives installed when working with the phone in USB debugging mode, if not install them.
4. Download SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse or later version( i used 1.9.5) , after download extract the files into a folder with the same name as the archive.
5. After you extracted the files, go to C:\Windows\System32 and copy the cmd.exe to the ADB folder where you extracted the files, in my case C:\Users\myuser\Desktop\SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse\ADB.
6. Enable USB Debugging mode (Enter the phone settings menu>Application> Development and tick the USB debugging mode) and then connect phone to pc via usb cable. (DONT PRESS USB STORAGE) .
7. right click on cmd.exe from the ADB folder, Run as administrator, than write:
adb devices (press enter)(after this command you should see your device id)
adb shell (press enter) (after this command you should see $)
$ echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf, (press enter)
Do not close the window, live it like that.
8. Start SuperOneClick.exe, leave the settings to the SuperOneClick as they are when it opens, click on ROOT and wait, it will say Starting ADB server..., than it will do it's job and than it will appear Waiting for device... it will say ok and that if it freezes while running psneuter do the following:
a. Turn USB Debugging OFF(DO NOT DISCONNECT CABLE) wait until it will appear in the window again Starting ADB server... after that
b. Turn USB Debugging ON and after this trick it will start rooting.
After this it will ask you to reboot the phone, DO NOT FORGET, and after the reboot click on the SuperUser icon in the phone's menu. it will aks you if you allow or deny it's access. click allow. After this you must connect to the internet via Wireless or a apn, click on the superuser icon again if you exit it, go to settings, scroll down and you will see Su Binary v.XXXX, click on that to update it, than go to market and search the super user app and update it.
Also update busy box.
IF this doesn't work do a factory reset and again repeat these steps.
if this guide works for you do post replies and ...... dont forget to press thanks button
Doesn't seem 2 work. Keeps getting stuck at the point "Running psneuter" and gets stuck. Tried closing debugging and all that but it still gets stuck. Reset it 3 times still no result.

Did it!! Yes!! For those who might not be able its very important that in the cmd u write like this:
adb shell (enter)
$ echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
Give the exact spaces!! And it worked!!! (Space between echo 1 > /data ... like that)

I haven't tried installing custom roms in my phone.. some forums said that cfw have stock tun.ko module, a module needed to run the vpn application.
I saw a optimus net CWM installation process.

What exactly is meant by
"Be absolutely sure that you have all the drives installed when working with the phone in USB debugging mode, if not install them."
It means the adb drivers.

please do keep in touch with this thread hehehe
My problem is that my SNS will not connect to wifi whatsoever and I'd rather not use my limited data plan to download apps. My goal is to install ROM Manager and install CyanogenMod in hopes that it will fix the wifi problem. There has to be some way via USB debugging mode to install ROM Manager and I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

Hmm... one solution could be following:
Code:
adb push SOURCE TARGET
ADB is a platform-tool that is included in Android SDK.
For example:
Code:
adb push ~/Downloads/rommanager.apk /sdcard/Download/
+ open that apk on your device.
Also remember, pushing apps from adb will not associate them to your Google account. Hence you will not be notified of any updates.
Hence, before sideloading through adb, initiate the download through Play Store and quickly cancel the download. When you see them in your All Apps section, they'll be added to your Google account.

You can also flash the ROM from recovery. No need of installing ROM Manager and doing all that stuff.
Copy the ROM to USB storage and flash it through recovery. Don't forget to take a Nandroid backup before flashing a new ROM.

If you just want to install it, use this command:
Code:
adb install /source_apk_location
if it's already installed and you're updating it, use this one:
Code:
adb install -r /apk_source_location

My suggestion is to not use any toolkit and follow the step by step guides available on XDA instead.
Look for timmaaa thread in general section
Step 1 backup everything you want to keep
Step 2 is unlock boot loader (which will wipe your phone clean, that's why step 1 is backup everything lol)
Continue from there using the guide
This way you learn proper commands and the method instead of not knowing wtf you're doing and not knowing how to fix things if you come across any problems.
Cheers

Also make sure you know where the files are that you downloaded. My suggestion is desktop make a folder called opo and download everything in there
Google and download "15 second adb installer" that will install the required drivers. So this way you just open command window in the folder (hold shift+ctrl+right click > choose open command prompt here) with all your files and don't need to put files in the SDK folder etc.
Forget the toolkit, they're more trouble than they're worth. Plus, you'll gain valuable experience by doing it yourself, experience that you're gonna need when something goes wrong in future. Check out my guide here:

Hello guys,
Sorry if this is redundant but I did search before making this post so feel free to edit or remove moderators.
I had root prior to last update 7.5.1. Lost root and I could not re-root using Qemu/Root Many/KFAide and I spent a lot of time playing with the CMD prompts. So I was curious and tried Root Master 1.3.6. Sure enough it worked for me in 1 MINUTE!!! So I am only posting this in case there are others out there like me. I found this post to be helpful since it had a lot of pics so I will not put up my own pictures:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783447
Otherwise, the my cliff notes of the install is:
Copy/transfer Root_Master_1-3-6.apk to any folder on Kindle via usb cable (assuming you installed drivers already, if not search forum)
Install/Open
Select Mulai Root
Popup with two choices will appear Root/Batal (cancel): Select Root
Another popup will show strange characters/Batal: Select Batal this time
You're Done!
Last step: Clean up by going to apps and press/hold root master to remove from device (it's no longer needed since you are rooted and I read it may contain some kind of script that sends your device information to someone bored, however the root itself is safe - I hope!)
Also, four common terms you'll see when you open apps that asks for root permission not covered in the thread above:
jangan tanya lagi - do not ask again
Perizinan - Allow
Tolak - reject
di izinkan xxxxxxxxxxxx dapatkan izin - authorized xxxxxxxxxxxx to get "root" permission (xxx is the name of the app you are opening)
I will post up my version of the file I've used but I believe the file in the thread above is also identical.
Thanks to all and this forum,
Nano out
P.S. Another solution working to removing the Special Offers Lockscreen Ads is to freeze it with Titanium Backup ($$) or ROM Toolbox Lite (free) both can be found on the Google Play Store:
For ROM Toolbox Lite: Open after install, select app manager, click on Kindle Special Offers, select Freeze, then Yes. I'm unsure what the advanced freeze is but my ads are gone and still gone after reboot so I'm a happy camper.
i also have 7.5.1 but stock. never been rooted. i downloaded this APK and followed the instructions... but it didn't successfully root it for me. so... now there's like a Perizinan rumah tangga app that i can't get rid in the app store.... so i'm factory resetting everything again hahaha i think it's malware

follow the unrooting part mentioned in this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783447
this is the best method of rooting on 7.5.1:
http://akauntu.blogspot.com/2014/12/install-custom-rom-on-amazon-kindle_26.html
so i did follow both, the first link didn't do anything but load an app and hten it loaded an app that wouldn't go away even after factory reset. great.
secondly, i used the 'best method of rooting on 7.5.1' and the only difference i saw was using non-admin to run commandlines so that made some differences. but i'm not i still have root. the major issue is i can't reboot into fastboot... so that defeats the purpose since i can't downgrade to 7.2.3, which is needed to proceed.
any other tips?
according to a few root checker apps. i have root... but i just can't reboot into fastboot

The first link I posted was to remove that app installed from root master where is says unrooting and "1.Open "Perizinan rumah tangga."
As for the second link, you should follow the youtube videos as well as some of the info isn't mentioned in the text. You need to make sure the kindle fire drivers are installed properly when using adb and fastboot. One time they were fine for me for adb, but when I went into fastboot, they weren't properly installed. So, I uninstalled them in the device manager and replugged in the kindle and they worked properly.
But since root checker apps are saying you have root, adb shell su -c "reboot bootloader" should get you into fastboot mode. Then you run that other tool to downgrade.
when i run that command i get connection io timer error and thats it. it will only reboot into recovery but never fastboot. i'm tryjng to make or acquire a fastboot cable. the original kindle usb cable is a fastboot cable right? i have to find it not sure where i stored it

i dont have any other issues adb driverd and cmd run fine i just cannot get into fastboot no matter what i have used

you don't need a fastboot cable for that method. I don't have one myself and have no issue.
when you do "adb devices", does a serial come up?
yes i can run adb devices no problem. i know how to adb kill-server and restart the devices as well so it is detected. i have drivers properly installed as a ADB device under device manager. i can adb reboot and even adb reboot recovery but i can't run adb reboot-bootloader or adb reboot bootloader
and adb shell gets me non-su user prompt but i can't su into the root access #. when i run adb shell su -c "whatever" i get:
[-] connect ui: Timer expired
and that's it. when i run bin4ry rooting i get permission denied i'm guessing on places where it needs to get into fastboot screens.
bought fastboot and now i can get fastboot only through poweron process. which is good! i've downgraded to 7.2.3

Ok now thats out of the way
I have created a System Root img to follow on from Paul from Modaco's work for anyone who prefers that method. I have created another how to that is a bit more Noob friendly as it was asked for on another Forum, And as there isn't much going on in regards the Hudl 2 on here i thought i would get the ball rolling for the Hudl on XDA
Things you will need:
1. ADB drivers installed (pdaNet+ works well) Click Here
2. Paul's ADB & Fastboot tool (Post 1 of "How to root your Hudl 2) Click Here
3. The /System.img (Android-build.20150319.222108-System-image) Click Here
Step one:
Install all drivers and ADB Drivers (pdaNet+ will do this for you)
Step two:
Extract the ADB & Fastboot tool zip to the Computers desktop and place the system.img in that folder
Step Three:
Open the extracted folder "adbfastboothudl" hold "SHIFT" on your keyboard and right
click on some empty space in the folder, Then click "Open Command Window Here"
Step four:
Enable "USB Debugging" (In developer options)
Step five:
Connect your Hudl 2 in to your computer with the Hudl 2 USB cable that came with your tablet.
WAIT a few seconds for your computer to recognise the Hudl and install the drivers (the tablet may pop up
with an authorisation request, click yes)
Step six:
Back in the command window type "ADB-Windows Devices" without quotes (the tablet may pop up
with an authorisation request, click yes)
At this point your device ID should come up like this
List of devices attached
123232423PE387263 device
If you see this then you are ready to flash the Root /System.img
Step seven:
Type in the comand window
"adb-windows reboot bootloader" without quotes and hit ENTER
Then wait untill the Hudl enters Bootloader, Then type
"Fastboot-windows -i 0x1d4d flash system system.img" without quotes and hit ENTER
Once you have hit that second ENTER for the love of god do not stop it. It can take a while so let it do its thing.
It can take a while, Don't clock watch go make a cuppa.
Hope it helps guys. I know its a lot of steps but i have tried to make it as Noob friendly as possible.
Root Hudl 2 Any software version
I used the method that someone posted on MoDaCo's page. (post #559)
I'm not allowed to post links yet, but if you do a search for "modaco root hudl 2 page 28" it will take you straight there.
Very easy to do.
Any news with a fix for rooting this device with the 20150917 build?
I need the system image please
this link doesnt work more. Please could you assist me about how to find the download or if you please could upload again? thanks!
3. The /System.img (Android-build.20150319.222108-System-image) Click Here
