Qpst - Motorola Triumph

I'm trying to flash a prl told my triumph but it keep saying online connection not available....... any special tricks on this phone?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium

Make sure the phone has usb debugging on and not in usb storage mode. i can't remember if you need drivers or not. You also need you MSL (SPC whatever you want to call it), and open it and it should detect your phone on a port and it should be the serial number I believe.

It is on usb debuging & I have my msl but still nothing

Cm7 TG beta with whyzor kernel. Also, I tried doing it on stock rom & nothing. The link says access denied

Denied? Ok well go to sdx developers & in the download section go to the triumph guides & tips section & look at the PRL swap guide, use that method from stock with anycut to hold the port open

You have to do it from stock then flash back to CM7 & the PRL will come with

When I tried to do it with stock rom I did it with anycut but the com shortcut wasn't there..... here's the error I get from qpst

Out of curiousity, using a non stock recovery would it cause not to be able to flash the prl?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium

No I did it with clockwork installed, on the stock rom open anycot choose select com port then create short cut, then open shortcut & switch it to diagnosis mode then then connect it to. OPST

There wasn't any com port option on my stock rom with anycut

Root ee4 stock Rom

I know this may sound odd for.some but important asking cause everything i tried seems not to work so i can i get some help maybe some step be step instructions.please don't nobody has to be a smart ass also if somebody would be willing to make a video that would be nice.....

Are you trying to root from stock ee4? The question was a little vague and I want to make sure before typing it all out.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Yes that's what im trying to do
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA Premium App
I think there is a rooted stock ee4 in the development section. Let me see if I can find it. I think you would then just install using Odin with is in a sticky at the top.
---------- Post added at 12:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:47 AM ----------
Why do you want rooted stock ee4? To debloat?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121201
Found this but seems like alot to go through just for root. Easier to find a debloated version and just add back in what you want. Im still new at this myself.
If you are only worried about root and do not want to flash a custom ROM you only need to:
1. Download CWM from this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112804.
2. Flash it to your phone using odin, make sure you selct PDA and uncheck auto-reboot. When finished boot straight into recovery just to make sure everything worked.
3. Install superuser from the market or download the .apk and flash through cwm. =)
That's it, if you have any questions about how to use odin please refer to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160580
Knew there was an easier way lol. Guess I learned another thing for today.

Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA Premium App
Not sure if you can achieve root on this phone without a custom kernel.
As far as I'm aware if you do go with a custom kernel when Verizon releases an update you will need to revert back to stock to be able to receive it.
If that's ok with you go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205428 and follow steps 1, 2a ,2b. you'll be sitting rooted and stock at that point. if you go with the pbj voodoo kernel (i'm using it) it will give you root and speed your phone up quite a bit. after that just download superuser from the market and go nuts.

Liking the rom. Only thing Im finding is you have to install superuser. E'ffin FB has me liking supersu and it would not acquire root access. Installed superuser then give supersu #su and uninstalled superuser.
Also my initial install was missing things like status bar, settings and such. Did a F/S/D/W and reflashed the rom everything was fine.
Some menus still have Chinese kinda wish I knew how to read it.

Wipe data flash .zip. Working fine so far.
You don't need to do the efs-backup if you have the .tar on your sdcard
And I concur with Erik, having your efs-backup.tar and the md5 saved to your comp is a very good idea
The steps I took to make sure I didn't have any probs was from recovery (already on mtd) factory/ data reset, format system, flash efs-restore.zip, flash ROM, reboot and let cook/ bake...

Sorry about the download confusion guys, hazard66 is correct go to file then click download, you should download zip file.
I can't vouche for performance of these. I only tested a few and just to see that they get signal lock. I have been running uckk1 for a good while now, it seems to perform as it did on ics.
I updated my UCLB3 package to include the exact same version that is in scott hart's cm10. Thanks go out to scott for allowing me to pull it from his rom. [ROM][JellyBean][4.1.1]Unofficial CM10 - Updated CM10 8/31 Butter - MTD - OC Kernel
The SGS 4G modems I pulled from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192436. They needed to be padded like the infuse modems and put in my installer pack.
I now realize that I might be stepping on toes rereleasing some of these. So, if you feel I owe you credit for one of these modems just PM me and I would gladly give you credit for your great good work. Although I had to change these modems so it doesn't resemble your modem much.
One more thing DO NOT try to flash these on any BML rom(Pre jellybean so far, Although I'm hearing that there may be MTD ICS soon). They will not work.
All of the Infuse modems above (besides UCKD5) I got from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342978

Best stable rom?

Hey guys my girlfriend has been using this phone for about a year. She is finaly ready to have me root it and flash a smother rom than stock.
I was wondering what was the most stable rom out there.? She will not flash a bunch of roms or anything... Its more of a one time deal...
Sorry what's the smoothest stable rom?
Thanks guys!

Stock is the most functional, but if you're wanting a flash it and leave it kind of ROM, stick with CM7
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Really depends. CM7 based are my favorite, but if you want BT calling, than rooted stock is the only way. Unless you wanna jump through hoops to downgrade your BB from the March BB. Assuming tthat's what your on. Ivetried tons of ROMs. CM9/10 based are not stable as a daily driver ROM. Eaglesblood and Hellfire v2.3 GB and taemsek build 135.1 are very good CM7 roms.
Its really dependant on what you need the phone to do.

She just needs a stable rom.. Bluetooth calling does not matter because should never use it... So I'm guess I should go with a cm7 rom.. What the most stable one?
I would assume this pho e would have all kinds of stable stuff being as it's been out so long.. I am going to guess lg does not put out any drivers? I have never owned a lg phone so I'm only guessing.

Which Hellfire? If you want stability don't flash Hellfire Sandwhich. Flash Phenoix v.2.2/2.3 (2.3 is what I use the most as a daily driver, until build 135 nightly came along)
Than I would flash fauxs 050 kernel. I have some issues with 051 kernel.
Just my 2cents.

Two flavors of CM7 I love:
Hellfire Phenoix v2.3 w/ faux 050 kernel
OR

Goto Settings, About Phone, scroll down to baseband version, does it say in the number March 11, 2012, or a Date I believe Jul 15, 2011.
If you have March 2012, you will need to flash newbaseband.zip as well after you flash the ROM, it's simple.
Here is hotlink for newbaseband. It is not included in the ROM, most of them don't offer it but it's a simple flash n' fix.
Soo,
Do your full wipes,
Flash ROM
Flash Kernel (if not wanting CM7 stock)
Flash newbaseband.zip
flash gapps (if you'd like, I never do anymore cause I use a handful of G Apps.)
Reboot-enjoy!

If shes on the old baseband, there's no need fix anything, but if you flash a new rom, and get a clicking sound, check the general sticky section or my sig to get things sorted out.
Your good to flash either version on her baseband.

I'll try it out when I get off work.. Basically I was going to download the rom from rom manager because I didn't want to search through threads on her stock browser since she didn't have the xda app and I couldn't download the file on my computer and transfer to her phone because her rom wouldn't let her mount usb because miui sucks. So I downloaded the rom from rom manager then I was going to just boot into recovery and flash manually. But rom manager said there was no recovery and that I needed to install one so I let rom manager do that for me.. I downloaded the rom and then rebooted into recovery to flash I was surprised that the font was orange because it used to be blue on her phone. I noticed the cwm version and it was one I've never used or seen anyone use. So first thing I did was factory reset then wiped cache and dalvik. Now I took an extra step and formatted system because I do that on twrp on my gs2. So everything wiped and I go to install from sd card to locate the file to flash and all that's there is dcim and data... Nothing else. I though maybe because I formatted system?? I tried turning off the phone then getting back into recovery and it was the same... Nothing showing up on install from sd. Now I'm freaking out because I go to restore the nandroid from her original stock rom and nothings there either. I already wiped with no option to let me install anything now I don't know what to do. Was it that stupid recover I flashed that is unstable or was it because I formatted system?? I should of checked to see if her internal and external popped up in recovery on install from sd card but didn't think to do so cuz I never had that problem.... I'm ****ed.

Boom, there's your problem, do not use rom manager, you have to use nvflash to get recovery. Search for oneclicknvflasher to get cwm. You need a computer, and download the LG USB g2x drivers, use Google for that. You can never brick this phone.

How does one flash custom prls?

I found the thread telling how to enable all lte modes which gave the handy dandy msl reader app and that's all well and good, but I can't seem to find where the manual prl update is :/ I've found it on the og evo and my S3 but it don't see it in the ##data# menu on this bad boy. Am I just blind? If so please braille it out for me (and I mean absolutely no offense to the vision impaired, just trying to be funny)

heard people using PRL Helper
Haven't tried it myself, but you need root to use it.
I just use Roam control to force roaming.

PRL write works!!!
in the rom mentioned above, the write PRL option is there when you hit ##data# and then select view. Just scroll down a bit and youll see write prl. I just did it, verified working. Data speeds now faster thank you for the ROM suggestion!!
Prl helper does not work on stock rooted
